Guess AAA will list Morristown as the number one speed trap in the country again. Look at the tourism dollars while you can, they won't be lasting long. It's time to start conducting my business in other towns and avoid Hamblen Co like the Plague.

Yep, other states have outlawed those revenue generating cameras. Even city officials in other Tennessee towns have seen the error of their ways and ordered them removed. Not Morristown, though. No, sir! We need more of them! Tax base is shrinking but they still need other people's money some way, some how. And you all keep voting for them.

Doesn't go on your license and is just a civil penalty , if you don't pay it worst they can do is send it to a collection agency, even Roger Overholt said in a tribune article just recently that they can't make you pay it, he just hopes that your stupid enough that you will.

Is it worth ruining your credit?
Credit is an extremely important thing to maintain if you ever want anything more than a shitty used Honda Civic and single wide trailer full of Rent-A-Center crap. Some jobs even check credit now, pre-hire.

Just drive the damn speed limit, ffs. Its not rocket surgery.

If they dont install signs warning of the cameras within 500ft of those things, then the ticket can be used for toilet paper.

Well, yeah. They all have/will have signs. It's part of the installation. Maybe they'll forget. But now you've tipped them off. Crap.

160 W bound near Sulphur Springs Road. 160 E bound near L&L car crushers. 25E North bound near Western Wear and 25E South bound near Colboch. No red lights going up unless one is already in place in those areas.

So it looks like according to state law, they can't even put a blemish on your credit either.

If you get a ticket from these cameras, use them for toilet paper, then mail them back to city hall.

I'm genuinely curious why no one around here has ever vandalized them, in all seriousness. Surely some redneck in a rusty old 73 ford 4x4 wouldn't care to ram one of the things off it's mount or hook a chain to it and take off. I'm surprised they've never been shot with a 12 gauge or a paintball gun too.

The third party camera company who installs and oversees them on behalf of the city administration.

Supposedly an officer of the law reviews the footage for each ticket issued, but I have never believed that is actually the case.
