Has anyone tried their burgers? Is that all they have is burgers? What are the prices?

Overpriced, burgers were not fully cooked. Fries are NOT homemade. There is no special sauce. Don't waste your time/money.

What sides do they have? Good fries, onionrings or cheesesticks are the key to good burgers. Oh,and of corse a special sauce... Can't call anything crazy good if it isnt somewhat different from all the rest. Right?

I had one yesterday and it was very good. The single burger is $5 and the double is $6.

from all I have read, not many are satisfied. I am not paying $6 for a burger out of a truck.

They've probably rented the truck or leased it and plan on milking what fools they can with their $6 burgers and $3 fries until most people catch on and then they'll move on to another town and let the truck go back. doesn't seem like a business they have any intentions of growing, just trying to make a lot of cash really quick.

I know the owners they ve owned engineering companies , factories , etc... They are in it 4 the long run. Let me add that you bad mouthing people never give anyone the benefit of the doubt or a chance to succeed. Always put the shoe on the other foot ; they couldn't help the mud and I'm sure you had to wait cause they were just getting started. What's wrong with you illogical people ?

It's jealousy. A lot of people in this town just can't stand to see anyone else succeed.

Ok, so here is my opinion on the new food truck Crazy Good Burger. Stopped there yesterday afternoon to try it out. The first thing I noticed was the menu. They have burgers, fries, tea & shakes. Here are the prices:
Single Cheeseburger -$5
Double Cheeseburger -$6
Fries -$3
Shake -$3
Tea -$3
I think you can add bacon for $1
I was going to just order a single but for just a dollar more it is an obvious choice to go for the double. I also tried the fries and a sweet tea for a total of $10.
The first thing I noticed was the dirty lettuce which didn't bother me too much since I don't much care for it anyway. I removed it and threw it away. Under the bun was 2 nice sized fresh looking juicy beef patties topped with what looked like one piece of cheese, one very small piece of tomato, one pickle slice and some cut onions. After eating it I would say that it is overall a very good, fresh tasting juicy burger. The important thing here is that it is juicy but not greasy which I like. I don't know if it deserves the name "Crazy Good" but it was enjoyable. With a bit more effort and some better topping choices it has all the potential to be "Crazy Good".
Now for the fries. They are thin cut & appear to be fresh cut with some seasoning powder. They come in a bag with a couple packs of ketchup. The fries taste good, clean & fresh and were nicely cooked.
The last part of the order was the sweet tea. It comes in about a 20 ounce cup and tastes artificially sweet. I didn't care much for the flavor and there was so much ice in the cup it only lasted for literally a few sips and it was gone but it is only a buck so can't really complain too much about it.
Lets recap the good & bad shall we.
The GOOD:
ingredients are fresh and local
burgers are juicy but not greasy
fast & friendly
The BAD:
lettuce was dirty
too much ice in tea
not "Crazy Good"
just a bit overpriced
My Suggestions:
While they are on the right track with what looks and tastes like a very fresh high quality meat, they fall short from lack of creativity and toppings. I would like to to see some choices to customize my burger with different kinds of cheeses, barbecue sauce, mustard or something unique that would truly live up to the name "Crazy Good". Their burger just simply does not have the WOW factor needed to warrant the $5 price tag. I would feel better about it if the single was $4 and the double was $6 with 2 slices of cheese on the double. Also, a combo meal would be a plus. But the biggest thing is that they have to live up to the name "Crazy Good" and to do that it will take more than just the normal everyday plain boring toppings. It will take some creativity or at the least more options and a better value.

Why jealousy? Its a burger truck? It was after 1 pm. if they cannot be prepared during the actual rush of lunch when will they be prepared? Do not come on here and facebook advertising you are ready for business if you aren't - anyway, what stopped them from being prepared and ready to take orders was the girl behind the screen talking excessively to one customer. When you have people forming a line, move on - say thank you, excuse me, I must take the next order and then smile and greet the people waiting to give you money for your product -- duh!

While I will give it a try myself and I do hope them the best, I just don't see many people around here paying 10 bucks for a burger, fries and drink.

its $11 for a burger, fries and tea. the burger is ok, not bad but not the best, the fries are just normal fries, no where near $3 worth and the tea tasted off somehow, either stale or freezer burnt tasting or just cheap maybe. I didn't find anything about the food or the experience to be worth the hype or the price, so you all go ahead, don't listen, waste your money.

I was foolish, i tried it but now that I know what I know I would have been much better off for the price to have gone to Applebees or Ruby Tuesdays and had a bigger better tasting burger and fries and even a salad for that price at a sit down, nice restaurant. The truck experience was not worth being $7 MORE than most fast food meals that include drinks and fries. so having said that, and having been there, ate that, I will say it is a RIP but I should have known better than to pay $11 for a burger and fries out of a truck.

If you want to go to Applebee's then go for it. If you feel like going inside and sitting down to wait for 20 minutes for a burger and then having to tip go right ahead. So it is going to cost $8.99 for the burger & fries, about $2 for a drink and about $2 for a tip plus tax so you would be looking at actually about $15 to have a burger, fries & drink at Applebees. At the Burger Truck you pay $10 total for a DOUBLE! Cheeseburger with fries & drink and you will likely have it ready for you in a matter of 3 or 4 minutes. So you save $5, you get it 15 minutes faster & you get the DOUBLE! By the way, I have eaten at the Burger Truck twice and both times the burgers are awesome. If you can't afford to pay $10 for a fresh, clean, juicy, tasty meal with farm fresh local ingredients then take your fat ass to McDonalds and eat that nasty crap they serve over there. Maybe those nasty $1 poor excuse for a burger will keep your mouth shut for 5 seconds.
oh well

The owner couple of this not so crazy good burger van are really hot tonight. Dont take it so personally. You made the not so wise choice to advertise on topix, so deal with the fall out, not everyone is going to love your product and topix is well known for people expressing their true opinion.

I doubt seriously is anyone is jealous and I saw the truck sitting there today on my way to Applebees as a matter of fact where I had a steak for just a few dollars more than your truck made burger and it did look to my trained eye that the graphics on the truck were quite low resolution, there for looks low quality and to someone not in the know, would for sure look "old" or washed out.

I read the article in the Tribune about Crazy Whatever the name is burgers and I have to say, for all of the couples education, not a smart move to A) advertise on topix and B) charge too much for too little.

Like someone else said on one of these threads about this business, you only get one chance to make a first impression, seems a few things should have been a little better thought out before actually hitting the ground and PLEASE STOP posting in defense of yourself on these threads, everyone on topix knows that only the people in question will defend themselves with that much passion. Just let it ride itself out and learn from the mistake, the less you post, the sooner these threads will die down. You are doing yourselves more harm than good.
