Yes I work at Mahle and I am thankful to have a job but, unless you work at Mahle and have to pull 12 hour shifts and never a day off. Then yes it is easy for you to judge us.
How ever you forget we are husbands, mothers, and grandparents that sacrifice for the ones we love. We may never get to see our families and yes a lot are going through divorce here but we have to provide for our families just like you.
We also have a big turn over of employees at Mahle which is unusual cosidering so many people need jobs.
What we complain about is why are so many people out of work when we are getting worked to DEATH. They said it is because of the cost of insurance.

I have worked in morristown 7 years and i know when mahle morristown first took over control of mcconnelsville it was to bail them out now they are and the are making more money even than us...

So why is mahle giving them such a hard time with their contract....

I will tell you it's because mahle is greedy and is not about family values or work morale...

They want to bring down the American unions that built this country just because they are some German dictators...

Let's be fair to their union and lend out support... Mahle you are no better than Hitler was and even he eventually was burned .... Your day is coming you Morristown Coorporate d!cks

I think anyone who wants to comment about Mahle on here ought to have to pass the math test. Then we'd just have people with a right to say something talking about it. That would seprerate the men from the boys and the ones who aint that smart could go to the 'Women of Jtekt thread'.
We work damn hard for our money, harder than anyone else out there. I'd like to see some of these posters on here come in and try and keep production up for a whole shift, lololol. If Mahle ever does shut down we can walk in any plant in town and take your job in seconds, remember that, you jealous losers.

News for ya pistonhead the last 3 of us did pass the math test and I worked for mahle for years before retirement!! Mahle started out being a great company but now it's ran by a$$ holes. Mcconnelsville has it even worse because they have to prove themselves even harder because they are union and mahle just wants to screw them over. Them boys up there should be damn proud for standing strong. I worked at morristown when it was decent before i retired Wheeler was crawling his way up from the sludge knocking over us hard workers in his path

Oh and you are right bout one thing... We could go get another job anywhere thats because we know work... But don't you dare take anything from those mcconnelsville boys that post Here or the ones sticking up for them, they are doing what our plant is to scared to do ... Stick up for themselves!!!

You have no idea what you are talking about. German dictators? Hitler? You are an inbred moron. What if the Germans decided to close Mahle? Would that make you happy? These "dictators" pay well and provide good benefits. Find an equal job in Morristown....you cannot.

It isn't a daycare. It is a manufacturing facility. Production is based on need. Mahle is not your parents. What is destroying American manufacturing is employees with attitudes like yours. Just the tone of your post shows you are trapped in the "us v. them" mentality of the ignorant. If you want better conditions, just pack your bag and have the testicles to start your own business. Build a business with your sweat and effort and then see how anxious you are to have it unionized.

That sounds like the true attitude of a "COMPANY" man!! Without unions this country wouldn't have gotten anywhere! I own my own business and although I am not in manufacturing or real production I understand the needs of unions to fight for what is right! If i was in the position to own a company that needed Union i personally would be involved in making there needs heard and attempt to work with them like our fore fathers did!! Mcconnelsville ohio isn't in Morristown and As someone from the Tennessee area I believe those boys up there are doing everything in there power to hold on to what they have and not have it ripped from them!

No Mahle isnt your parents and shouldn't babysit but from what I know about the Mahle here in morristown they don't care about it's workers hardly at all... No one said anything about wanting them to pull out and its not the Germans that make those calls its our local people and not only do they affect our plant but other plants they have control over!

I currently work at mahle in morristown and although a union isn't right for our plant I do believe the company shouldn't have the right to cut wages by 4 dollars on the hour like they did here!! We give and give and receive nothing in return yet mahle is the most profitable it's ever been....

Why....

Hard working morristownians like us they break our back to provide quality products that if you ask anyone that works here proudly stands behind!

Do you honestly think the decisions don't come from Germany? If you don't, why did you compare the Germans to dictators and Hitler? You cannot have it both ways.

No business owner in his/her right mind would want a union. You are incredibly naive. Why would you start a business and then share it with a union? There is no reason you would want that.

I am not a company man, as you put it. I do consulting. However, I also know unions drain the lifeblood from a company. They have done wonders in the following areas: airlines (bankrupt), textiles (out of business), steel mills (almost extinct), coal mining (depressed and dying) and teaching (failing grades all around.) While they may have built this country (I don't agree with that) but now they are part and parcel of the problem. I am sorry to say that they have outlived any value.

To use your words, that unions have outlived any value, what about the most powerful union in the country, the one that has spent more than any other union lobbying the government, the business union , The American Chamber of Commerce, you know, the one that has advocated outsourcing jobs , free trade, illegal immigration and open borders. All these are well documented positions of this union.Does this union need to be dissolved?

It isn't a union at all, and you know that. It primarily lobbies a postion contrary to unions. You remember unions, those groups who put millions of dollars into the Minnesota recall campaign last week? You know, the thugs who try to intimidate voters. You remember, those stellar members of society who want to do away with the secret ballot in union elections. Yep, those wonderful people who think they have the right to take over a business.

Illegal immigration has not changed one iota under the union's choice for President....Barry the Great. The union puppets in the Democrat party had control of Congress in the recent past. Look at the job they did on the economy. Give me a business person who knows how to run a business over a parasitic union organizer any day.

So when a group of businesses organize for the purpose of lobbying the government thats good? When workers organize and lobby thats bad? Hmm?(The job they did on the economy?) Thats a great Rush Limbaugh talking point ,but not a rational explanation of our poor economy, that less than 10 percent of the organized workforce did a number on the economy. As I said thats a talking point, your to intelligent to believe that.I don't like Obama , I think he's a fraud and a weak leader, but wasn't our last President a business guy?How did he leave office with a 28 percent approval rating? You want to blame someone for Obama getting elected, his name is Bush.

Mahle in mcconnelsville is trying to take everything that the UNION has gotten them in the last 23 years . Yea what the UNION got them, the union is only as strong as those that back it. And in a small town like Morgan county a union is the only thing that protects their jobs, noted that Morgan county had the highest unemployment rate in the sate. So for those brothers at Mahle in mcconnlesville, keep your head high and don't let that worthless company or other posters tell you what to settle for. Gas ain't getting any cheaper nor food any cheaper. So don't go for this concession contract because it don't benefit any union worker...They got more to give....take care an god bless

I did not blame unions for the economy. I have previously said it was due to the Community Reinvestment Act and the home loans to unqualified buyers. However, regarding unions, it is apparent that the more heavily unionized industries have serious issues. In fact, there are few successful union industries. Teachers, firefighters and the like don't count as they are in public entities. They don't have to turn a profit.

Workers don't organize and lobby. The NLRA sees to that. There is no give and take for the most part. By the way, unions lobby the same government that you accuse business associations of lobbying.

Business groups lobby for legislation which benefits, in their opinion, a wide-ranging number of businesses or industries. Unions, threaten strikes, etc. for one specific group. Sorry, you are comparing apples to oranges. Wait, can that be done under the collective bargining agreement? Hmmmmm.

I love the way the unions have folks stationed outside Calhoun's in Kingston Pike in Knoxville with the sign stating that Calhoun's is unfair to unions. The union has a dispute with a company Calhoun's has a contract with. Yet, they don't mind trying to impair Calhoun's business or to make their customers feel uncomfortable. They don't mind harming an innocent business and their employees. What a great bunch of folks the unions are.

Tell them to keep their heads high when Mahle decides to close the plant. Tell them to not settle with that worthless company when their jobs are shipped to Mexico or China. I am sure they will find great comfort in knowing they didn't let you down.

. And "shut the doors and move it to Mexico or China" is exactly what Mahle is going to have to do if anyone thinks those workers are going to settle for the cuts/proposals that Mahle is offering. Good luck tonight and the community is behind you guys and your union!!!!

Its been settled already behind closed doors. We are going with what they're offering and that is that.
Hell, aint none of these places out here in town gonna hire us if we lose our jobs, cause we done run our dicksuckers right and left for years about how much better we are than everyone else. I bet theres different plants that have all the guys ready to beat the crap out of the first Mahle queerboy that clocks in at there place.
Face it, we got to bow dow and keep these jobs we get or we'll wind up out there somewheres getting made fun of by people shouting "Hey math test boy whatcha gonna do now math test boy??"
We're screwed. Face it guys, aint none of us ever worked more than three hours straight without taking a halfhour break, hell thats why we been on 12s so long.
Thats all Im gonna say, I like being payed twice as much as the other guys in town and only having to work half as hard. Wise up and shut up.
