yea he will get you hooked on oxy's and roxies or any other pain meds then you be a addict and ruin your life. my suggestion is find someone else and stay off the narcotics. He and other pain clinics in this town and other states like florida seems like we have alot running down there now is whats wrong with this state. everyone wants there pills. this town is full of damn pill heads.

Go to Dr Dennis Harris at Advanced Spine and Rehab Center, he's a excellent doctor and is very conservative. Dr Chavin is well known for giving the really strong addictive drugs.

Chavin, like most pain management physicians, gives pain medication and nothing more. He is a former anasthesiologist and has no significant specialized training. Once you go to these guys, get ready for a lifetime of pain medicine. I don't know if anyone ever gets well enough to get off of it. You kind of sell your soul to the devil on this one.

There have been lots of times, I would have sold satan my soul to rid myself of the pain.
Thanks.

People doesn't understand "PAIN" til they have pain 24 hours a day every single day. Without any relief! Without the end in sight. Until they do have that kind of pain (i hope they don't) they really don't have a clue. I am wishing you the best!!!=)

Ok, here is the way it is: Have your own family dr., pay $1500 for initial consultation, then have any test he wants, pay $150/mo, take any and all drugs he prescribes as ordered (even if you don't want them), and sign an agreement to come (or pay) for 1 year. Don't know about you but I can't afford that. Oh yeah, I don't have TnCare, Medicare or on disability. I think that is a prerequite in order to be able to afford this Dr(quack, drugdealer, idiot, ......)

If you have so much pain, look for the cause of the pain, not a quick fix.

They have looked and found the cause, but unfortunately it is to dangerous to have surgery. There is a 90-5% risk. The 90% chance is the surgery will make me not be able to even walk anymore. So what do I do now? I go to physical therapy 3 times a week, Plus I see a chiropractor while I am there. Even the chiropractor thinks it is to risky for surgery. Just because people takes pain med DOESN'T mean every single one of them are taking them, for the high. Or selling them. It is the people who abuse the meds that makes it so hard on people that doesn't. I will say IF I am off count 1 pill, I would be dismissed. I do Not abuse my med because I am not stupid. I am not looking to get high. I respect myself enough to know better. So, it looks like I would at least, get some respect back.

I have chronic pain, although not likely as significant as you experience. Getting rid of your pain may happen, but what about the quality of your life? Do you really want to be dependent on narcotics for the rest of your life with no physician interested in weaning you off of them? Just remember, people like Chavin have no interest in curing your pain, his income requires you to be essentially addicted. The choice is yours, but I would, personally, explore every other possibility before giving in to the likes of him.

THIS DOCTOR IS HORRIBLE AND GOT MY COUSIN ADDICTED TO PAIN MEDICINE, WHO IS NOW DEAD BECAUSE OF HIM AND HIS WIFE!!!! I would never recommend using this doctor unless you are a pill abuser. WHICH MOST OF YOU PROBABLY ARE. I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR PAIN PILL ABUSERS!!!

Chavin does not care about his patients. He is such a jerk. I went there for a few visits but the entire staff are so mean that I would not go back. I had back surgery 5 yrs ago. Lost function in right side of my body. Dr. Harris fixed it. I have comlpete funtion and feeling back. I still see his staff monthly because I do have chronic pain but they help me have a good quaility of life and I am still able to work.Clair is amazing!

ok lets get this out first. yes i take pain med. i had a motorcyle wreck when i was 17 and had a knee replacement. now i need it done again. i have been looking for a surgeon to do the replacement for 5 yrs. no one will do it. they all say i am to young. hell no i dont like having to take these pills. but without them i would have to shoot myself.but if i was to put who i am on here there would be so many ppl supprized that i take these pills. you see i work every day,i play with my kids as well as i can because of the knee, i go to church, see i live my life. yes i know that there are so many ppl that abuse these meds. my own sister being one of them. my point is dont label everyone that lives the hell of having to live their life in concent pain. you would not belive what a person that really has need for these kinds of meds to get help because of the abusers. good luck i have never went to the doc you are asking about. one thing i do know is dont go to dr mohammad. he tryed to start me out on a third of what my family doc was giving me with was not enough was why i had to move on to a pain clinic.

Michael tries to do a good job. He can be very rude and arrogant quite often. His wife is the same way. If they like you, then they will treat you like gold. I guess that is the Jewish side of Dr. Chavin.
Years ago, Chavin was all over the news for fraud with Tenn Care. Hard to believe a Dr. needing to be on Tenn Care, but he was. Victoria got herself a DUI several months ago according to the Citizen Tribune Crime Beat. She ran off the road and the officer noticed a strong odor of Alcohol on her breathe. If I know her the way I know her, she probably tried to blow her way free.

I agree. You've got to fix the problem...not mask it. Granted, there are some things that might not be able to be fixed, but is a lifetime of pain medicine the answer? Once you get addicted to the stuff you eventually need more and more to get relief.

I've heard doctors say the same thing...'you're too young.' Well, my question to them is why not have it done and be painfree and be able to move around while I'm YOUNG! Sheeshh! If you have to have it done again when you're older, so be it.

That's one thing I don't understand. Does anyone else?
