I believe the staff at heritage are alot nicer and provide better care for their patients. Heritage is a division of lifecare tho.

I had my mother taken there after her stroke. And boy do I have some info for you! First off I found it odd how they want you to sign in and out with a time, but there's no clock anywhere! What kind of business doesn't have a clock? My mother was first in what they call the new wing. Horrible, rude nurses and cnas although there was maybe a handful of people whom actually did their job and enjoyed it. The O/T and P/T is great! But that's the only part that is. My mother was left on bedpans so much as to she had got sores. My mother told me she had fell the day before one day I was there visiting, I went to ask why I wasn't notified. The nurse said she didn't know anything about a fall, I knew my mother wasn't lying she had knots on her head and described in detail what had happened. So I went further and spoke with the all mighty director of nursing who always says "we'll take care of it" as a normal response to anything you bring to her attention in which she never addresses anything, she tells you what she thinks you want to hear. She had told me since there was no report the fall didn't happen. Then the same nurse I asked about it stops me before I leave and said "oh it was in my notes from yesterday she did fall, but she's ok". So after being lied to my face and nothing being done, I never stopped complaining about the staff and had little meetings with all the big shots @ least once a week. About my mom not getting showers, left on bedpans, ect. There is a lady there in which I don't want to mention this poor residents name, but I walked past her twice in the hallways and she had s**t on her hands and yes she does grab people and the staff just leave her out there doing that! The nurses will lie to you with every word out of their mouth. They are all friends and like to cover up for each other. They eventually got tired of my complaints and said my mother had reached her potential and wanted to discuss discharge. I told them I completely disagreed and had her transfered to the jefferson city health and rehab right next to the elementary school. ThIS is the place you will feel comfortable leaving a loved one! Wonderful staff, great environment, much better care, just better all the way around. My mother could do so much more after she had got to jefferson city and did nothing but improve while there. And ANY mishap or incident I was notified right away! I also have a friend who is being cared for there right now, I'm just speaking from my own experiences. But I can mention I saw at least 10 of life cares cnas or nurses that had switched jobs to this place because they were being treated badly as well and couldn't take it any longer. Do your research please, investigate these places as much as possible before making a decision. And stay on the staff to always know what is going on, stay involved as much as possible is my advice. Good luck.

I believe you are just a cry baby ex employee who got fired for not doing their job. Lifecare is a really good nursing home. And they have people sign in and out for security so that they know who has been there so that there are not strangers roaming around to hurt any of the residents. So grow up and continue your job at Jeff. Rehab. which I might add is a nasty place.

I have visited someone there many times over the past three years. Not once have I had to sign it. They moved the lady I go see at one time, I walked in- asked what new room she was in, and they told me. No questions asked.

They have a sticker policy now; for the safety of residents and staff. This is a great facility.

First off I'm NOT an employee or ex employee I own my own successful business. I was speaking from personal experience trying to not let these horrible things happen to others' family members. If you don't believe me why don't you go have a stay there for awhile and see how you are treated you stupid bible thumpin f**k! Lifecare sucks ass and is a horrible place. I'm not the only person who thinks this either! Maybe you should get your facts straight before opening your di*k suckers. You don't know me where I'm from or what I been through but one thing I'm not is a lier! I don't work for any worthless shit hole! You probably pay me you head! Go f**k yourself and not once but twice! You have no clue what you're speaking on so go buy another pill and continue with your stupidity. I'm not going to your level. I know what that place is.

I agree with this statement, please don't put any of your family members in LifeCare, it's a death trap.

My mother worked there for a few years and ended up getting fired for giving one of the residents a hug. There's a lot of jealousy and back-biting among the staff.. and if it's not a pleasant place to work, I don't imagine it is a pleasant place to live. One of the residents begged my mother to take care of him as a full time job so he could get out of there (the only cna he liked there was my mother) and called the place "deathcare". Most of the cna's there do not care about the residents at all, and the rn's don't care about neither the cna's or residents. I would not send a dying dog to lifecare.

I have been in the medical field for years. My question is why would your mother hug a patient if she was an employee. Maybe she should have been better trained on employee conduct.

I have a loved at Life Care who has been there for over 2 years. They are very well taken care of and have always been clean and comfortable. My loved one is bed ridden and therefore requires a little more care due to the bed ridden state. I have made various visits at different times during the week and on the weekends and I have always been pleased with the condition I have found with my loved one. I know each person has different issues and situations and sometimes the staff can be pushed to their limits but I have always found each person upfront and considerate of my loved one. I am also notified each time there is an incident and I call as well to keep check on any issue that might come up such as loss of appetite or other physical issues. I do agree if you feel unsure of a place to care for your loved one it is best to find somewhere you feel assured of the quality of care. I feel very confident with the care my loved one receives at Life Care.

Not everyone signs in. After 5pm there is no one at the lobby to moniter anything and on weekends you are very lucky to even find an employee all together. Almost no staff on weekends and maybe one manager. Why so little staff on weekends when there are the same amount of residents? A lot of desturbing things go on during the weekends. I guess it is not important that the managers work weekends or nights. So perdictable. That could be dangerous.

In all places you have a good side and a bad side and each persons' experience is different. You will need to go by what you feel in your heart when you go into a facility, meet some of the people who actually work on the floor one on one with the residents, such as the nurses and cna's, not people in management, all they really care about is the money your loved one can bring into the facilty. I know that long term care facilities have good people working in them who actually care but you also have those that don't and they are the ones that give Nursing Homes a bad name. Sometimes you even have people whom have been fired and they go out into the community and say terrible things just to bad mouth the facility. So I guess what I am saying is form your own opinion by visiting the facility and meeting the people who care for the resident and always, always listen to what your Heart tells you.
