The Gondolier Restaurant has now opened in Jefferson City, if you all haven't checked them out and tried it, your missing out.

I went there for lunch today. And was very impressed.

I had the Baked Chicken Parmesan and it was delicious!! In fact, I liked this one, even better than the Olive Garden's! Shocked me!

Welcome to Jefferson City The Gondolier!!!!!!!

I give you guys an A+++++

Not wishing to miss out on anything, tell me more about the Gondolier Restaurant. For example, if I were sitting in the East High School parking lot, what would I set my GPS on so that it would take me to the parking lot of the restaurant that you have given an A++++++ rating? Would my sweet wife, Tina, be nice to me for taking her there for a good evening meal? Also, I have a good banker friend here in Morristown who has a wife who is a medical person. Should Tina and I wish to take them to the Gondoiier, could I be fairly sure the wife would enjoy going there? Keep in mind that she is a medical person and they are not always easy to please, especially if they are blondes which she is and also tall as she is and not too hard on the eyes whatever that means. I guess it is most important that wife Tina and the other woman be pleased in this eating outing to Eagle Country. Please advise as soon as possible as Friday will be here sooner than we think. Make that posthaste if you know what I mean.

Thanking anyone in advance for this valuable information.

Mr Ensley,

I have yet to dine ad the Gondolier, but I have gotten rave reviews from several people including on of the instructors at CN.

We were headed there Sunday evening, but the wait looked torturous so we opted out.

At any rate, its easy to find. It's the old Pizza Inn building beside Hardees (same side as Wal-Mart) in Jefferson City.

Let us know how you like it. Enjoy.

Now, now--let us not place the fault of a typo on the fleet of foot toddler of which you speak. On the other hand, I know all about the quickness of a little one in that age range. Just think, that toddler may someday grow up to fly high with the eagles, the Carson Newman football Eagles that is.

My daughter, Carole, is flying in from Del Ray Beach next week for a long weekend. Maybe I will take her to the GR for lunch while she is here. Thanks for the info. I will soon make my presence know at this new place to eat in Jefferson City and will let you know what our opinion is. I am looking forward to going. I do hate waiting but I guess that is all part of a good restaurant and a new one at that.

Hi Jerry,

It is in the old Pizza Inn Building. Just right next to Hardee's at the red light in Jeff City.

Let me tell you, they have desserts that are to die for! One slice of cake, is four layers! and about 1 foot tall! There is no woman on this earth who wouldn't love to go there!

Their prices are very reasonable durning lunch, about 6-8 dollars a person, but at suppertime, they increase to a different menu, and the prices go up by about 3-4 bucks a person. The desserts are 4.99 and 5.99 I think....or maybe it was 5.99 -6.99...I forget...but I will tell you, it was worth every penny I spent! and I have two daughters...so I spent 20.00 just on dessert! And would do it again in a heartbeat.

You can't miss out going there. It's just to good to pass up. They are packed right now, but you don't wait more than 30 mins. really. I went at lunch and waited 10 mins perhaps to get seated....and when I took my daughters back at suppertime, we waited about 30 mins to get seated.

The one thing that I do not like, is the checkout. There is a line....that goes back into the restaurant to pay and get out of there. We waited longer to pay and leave, than we did to actually sit down. But while standing there, I noticed a few waitresses bringing checks to the register and getting their customers out of there ahead of everyone else...so maybe tip the waitress a lil extra and get the heck outa that line!

Enjoy!! It is extremely good! And worth waiting 30 mins to get a seat!

I think I may need to come up with a plan of action on how to best attack this new eatery that everyone is singing the praises about in Jefferon City. When people begin talking about desserts that are to die for, it sounds like war to me. I have decided that a GPS will not be necessary as it is simple enough even for a dunce such as I to find without any trouble. This is good for one star. Prices do not seem to be a problem because even a retired school teacher can eat out at least once or twice a week or month, whichever the affordability may be. Knowing the ladies in the "war party" will love the desserts make it all seem worth while not to mention the money. Best time to go? The first time for me will be with a small scouting party of only one or two of my three daughters going for lunch. Wife Tina, will go on the suppertime attack about a week later. I will need to give additional planning on the best and fastest way of leaving. We are all looking forward to our "Blue Ribbon" experience at the new Gondolier Restaurant located just down the road from Talbott Presbyterian Church. See you there.

Hey Jerry,

Best time to go at lunch, is right at 11am, or after 2pm....best time to get there for supper, is right before 5pm, if you go after 5, you will have a big wait...as it tends to get packed really fast. As for Fri/Sat/Sun...I wouldn't even try that....laffs...it's just packed, and there is little parking...people are parking at Hardee's because there is not enough room there, because so many ppl are standing/sitting to wait to get in there. It's really good!

I went there tonight with my daughter and her boyfriend. It was heaven! This was my second time, and tonight's dessert for me was white cake with raspberry filling, and shaved white chocolate...and I'm telling ya...it's to die for...I am sitting here tryin to finish it off now...yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmy is all I can say!

Don't miss out!

OH yes the first week was a nightmare down there, they were so packed it was unreal. I waited 45 mins for a child's spaghetti one night and that was at 10pm. Things are calming down somewhat now. Give them another try.

DON'T MISS OUT ! DON'T MISS OUT YOU SAY! The only way I am going to miss out on white cake with raspberry filling and white chocolate is if I die from OVER ANTICIPATION as I lie in bed thinking about it tonight. The only thing I have close to that here in my house this evening is Seedless Smuckers Raspberry jam on toast with butter. Not a very good sub for what you described so well making my mouth water. How could do us this way? I say this is a cruel and unusual way of making all who read your little post, CRAVE this particular cake. I might buy an entire cake to bring home so that I could really pig out on it. Could I purchase a whole cake?

Just an FYI...

I had a rare opportunity today to have lunch with the wife. It was early enough that the parking lot at the Gondolier was not completely full, therefore we could not resist the temptation any longer...

I had the baked eggplant parmesan and she had the baked lasagna.

Although the eggplant was a tad undercooked, it was still very good. My wife had no complaints at all with her meal.

I would rate it 8/10 which probably would have moved up another point had we given in to the siren call of the dessert menu.

In all, very good food and service - on par or better than Olive Garden for a bit less money.

Take the cost of gas into consideration, and it becomes an even better bargain since you don't have to drive to Sevierville or Knox-Vegas.

Mr Ensley...have that piece of cake for me!

I couldn't bear the guilt that would drive me to even more sit-ups, push-ups, and cardio than the carb-filled pasta already afforded me.

Regards!

White boy, any ideas for a good home-cooked meal that takes 30 minutes or less? And what's the last thing you cooked? How's that for a topix?
I made homemade calzones last night because I'm getting afraid to eat out due to the nasty people I see working in these places.
It cost me about 15 dollars to feed six people, not bad I guess.
