Poor little girl. I am not, nor have I ever been affiliated with Ms. Jacques or Healthstar. I work for a surgical group in Knoxville. I pity you. You are too proud to get real information. Since you have a new doctor, talk to him/her. They will tell you that PTC (or IIH) can and does affect the optic nerve; therefore, affecting the vision. I am not going to argue with you. I do NOT like Julie Jacques. My husband went to her twice. She diagnosed him without ever asking about his symptoms. She tried to put him on all kinds of meds. She is a quack. She even had the nerve to tell him that she didn't have time to listen to him because she had other patients. So again sweetheart, I have nothing good to say about her!

I just want people to be educated. You obviously do not want to learn. So, you keep spouting off nonsense. The people who really want info on PTC can ask their physicians. Get informed sweetheart or quit misinforming others!

Good luck with your problems, sweetheart!

PS-You spell it "damn" with an "n" when used in the context you were using it. Also, again, it is "dumbass"! Get a dictionary, SWEETHEART!

I am kinda desperate,i'm a new patient of Dr. Chavin. I know what my first impression is of him,but I've been wrong before. Anything you could tell me about him would be helpful.

I did not listen to my first judgement to the neurologist i had and man do I regret it. Listen to your heart if you do not feel comfortable go to another doctor. You can seek help from the toll free number with your insurance company. Yes it is an inconvience to go to another doctor but it may save your life one day. I thank god every day for the wonderful doctor I have today but it took four neurologist for the right one to do the work right and step up to the plate and diagnose me. Good doctors are hard to find as they are over worked, and reach burn out. And for the few fake doctors along the way they make the work even harder for these good doctors. Go get another opinion so what you pay another co-pay. I will pray for you.

Wow you really do need a life. Such a busy nurse to take all this time out to worrrie about me. But like I said I have a doctor already and I am not in need of internet nurse advice. I do appreciate your spell check thats sweet, However your practice in knoxville must not keep you busy enough and if your this psycho on the internet I am really wondering what eye/ neuro doctor you work for . So once again every one out their look out read and learn these medical people leak out whats going on behind closed doors. For all those seeking neuro I am now wondering about knoxville with this person that has gave us some inside scoop on her mental stability.WOW you need a vacation honey or is it near retirement. IT IS CLEAR YOU TAKE A PERSONAL NOTE TOWARD HER.WOW SCARY

Bless your heart. You must have something really wrong with you to get so mad about someone speaking the truth. You do nothing but try to scare people. I educate them. It seems to me (and others too) that you were the one trying to give medical advice. Are you practicing medicine without a license? I only wanted to give more people MORE information. There are a lot of people out there that lose all the vision in one of their eyes due to this disease. They just don't know that vision loss can be permanant from PTC. Early detection is the key. Why are you so hell-bent on not giving people all the information they need? Is it because I embarrassed you? I apologize for that. Honey, you need to get off your vengeful horse and help people, not hurt them. I think you must like arguing with people on Topix. Does it bother you so much that I have a job that required a college education? Does it bother you that your "new" doctor didn't tell you the dangers of PTC on your optic nerve? What really is your problem? Do you really care about people? See sweetheart, I do care about people. That is why I posted. You are a sad, sad individual. I feel nothing but pity for people like you. People who are so narrow minded that they can't accept it when someone knows more than they know. Again, I apologize for embarrassing you over your spelling. Not everyone can spell good. I really hope you are getting the best medical care possible. If you think I am psycho, that is fine. It is clear that you are just upset.

Julie Jacques was a horrible person and "neurologist". She wasn't even a neurologist. Healthstar should be sued by every single patient of hers. They let a real psycho treat patients for diseases and disorders that she knew nothing about. I hope and pray that all you former patients (my husband included) can find a new neurologist that will give you the care and treatments that you REALLY need!

my son had to go to dr.jacques because our family doctor refused to have him referred to a pediatrician.I quit taking my son to her after a few months because she never listened to me and was always walking around talking on a tape recorder instead of explaining anything to us.I had no idea about any of this about her. She kept trying to prescribe a different medicine to my son every visit. My son's teachers will not allow him to go to school without his medicine.I am so glad I stuck with my bad feeling about her and stopped taking my son to see her.

Why did you fly off the handle like that? This poster (article) was trying to be helpful. I didn't see anything to get so upset about. I was just about to mention that my granddaughter had been treated by Jacques and wonder if she had been done any damage by the meds she was on........BUT if you're gonna jump down my throat, like you did 'article', don't bother to answer this.

I did find quite a few newspaper articles. The picture certainly looks like her but are you'll sure that is her? Honestly she seemed really good with my child and I worked with her in hospital. I would never in a million years thought she would be like thatim so shocked as I said I had a good experience with her but now of course I have to question that. I don't know how she was ever allowed to practice

I agree something needs to be done.the state say they only look 10 years back and they are not interested unless malpractice can be proved it seems like no one cares

Some thing does need to be done and Health star needs to own it they hired her. As well I found out complaints can go to the medical board reviews in nashville to open investigations. I was told by a doctor that his wife almost died due to her neglegent care. She was told she had this brain illness and it turned out to be spinal meningitis, where she was under care by Mrs jacques in the maternity ward since the hospital was full of flu patients and since she was not contagious she put her there. This was also concealed by Morristown hospital. A person on a maternity floor with spinal meningitis is life threatning to the patients/ infants. I am out raged at all the levels of cover up and all to keep each others backs. When the doctor told me this I wondered why he did not turn her in. he said he knew she was nuts. I am told by many doctors for over three years they have noticed things about her and violence at the work place but no one came foward. I am outraged at the families I meet that have been damaged or lost a loved one. But I promise you this time it will be stopped she is a monster that is a fact. And all parties connected will have to answer and there is not enough time to cover it up it is too late.

We did the same thing! Our son went to her a couple of times. The first time with my husband, I was working so she wanted to change his meds too! I also didn't like her at all. Very strange person and hateful towards me and didn't seem to care. She tryed to belittle me and acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. Some Drs. are like that though but I read everything there is to know about AS which is what my son has and I live with him so I think I know more about him than she does! We went back to Dr. Gammeltoft who is great and at Children's hospital in Knoxville!
