Since Halloween falls on Sunday this year I was wondering if trick or treating is going to be done on Saturday or Sunday. Just curious what the official decision is from city officals. Thanks for your help.

Sunday, to my knowledge people have always trick or treated on the actual day of Halloween.

I could be wrong, were going to go on Sunday regardless.

We are in the Bible Belt... I am almost positive Trick or Treating will be done on Saturday night. Could you imagine what kind of shame would be brought on to parents if they skipped Sunday night service to take their kids Trick or Treating?

Boofest at Fred Miller always falls during the week and I think most churches will do it on Saturday, not sure about the mall though?

Trick or Treating is always the day of Halloween. It does not matter the day. People go to church on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings as well as Sunday evenings. And it starts at dusk and there is no rain make up day

Since a lot of Christains don't fear God anymore they wouldn't care to miss church to enjoy this pagen holiday.

You are so ass backwards it's almost comical. I wish churches were small enough to shove up your ass.

Won't get any candy on Sunday night at my house. Wish they would do away with halloween all together. I will give candy on Saturday night even though I don't like Halloween.

Wish they would do away with you all together. People like you have no place in this world. F*cking scrooge bible thumping piece of sh*t. Don't worry, Halloween will still be around when you're six feet under and hopefully that will come sooner rather than later.

The Mayor just doesn't want to buy candy and give out.

Everyone knows no one will be home on Sunday night, I mean we are in the Bible Belt. You must be in church on Sunday night or be stoned.

Cheap shot at the kids. Happy Halloween

If you dislike Halloween so much, why bother giving out candy to begin with? Why not lock your doors and keep all the lights off so everyone knows you're a grumpy person and not to fool with you?

All the Christian holidays are based on pagan worship or tradition. Don't single Halloween out.

I saw the article in the paper where the Mayor said Halloween should be observed on Sunday. I've lived in Morristown for years and while I've been here it has always been Saturday trick or treating when it falls on Sunday. I think the Mayor doesn't realize that she is causing a lot of confusion. Not everyone reads the Tribune. I also think she is going to make some enemies by messing with the local tradition.

I know that the Mall is handing out candy for the little ones on the Saturday before from 5-6. Also, Youth Villages, I believe on the west end of Morristown is doing a trunk or treat type thing the Saturday before from 5-7.
