Looking for a salon that is open till late hours and on Sunday to work with my sometimes weird/busy schedule. Thinking about trying JCP Salon. Anyone been there and recommends?

Proceed with caution. First you need to get a consulation, second if you hear the word razor cut or see a razor- beware. Also be careful of the word texturizing - too much and you will be Miss No Hair and it will have a frizzy look at the ends. It doesn't really give any movement to hair it simply takes away your bulk, thus thin scraggly ends. Second, if it's color - be sure you and the stylist know what color she is talking about- surprises are bad and end up being a disaster for you for at least 6 weeks and if you try to get it fixed - well let's just say you end up with more money spent on hair than you would groceries for three months. They have swatches - see what she is talking about. Third make sure the person is experienced in color - someone who is really good - well you don't end up looking like a Heinz 57 cat. This salon used to be really good years back, I question now simply because there seems to be way too much what they want instead of what you want. Like I said make sure you know your color- I was constantly being asked by people who knew me- what the hell is your color supposed to be. When you have good/right color- your skin looks good, your eyes look good - I had none of this. Hair people should know all this stuff that is after all what they are supposed to be trained to do. To add to my situation- when I was in shopping light - and trust me EVERYONE sees you then- well let's just say I looked bad and even worse my hair looked at times greenish or like I was graying. Honestly I had a friend who bought hair color at CVS and dyed her own hair and it sure as heck looked 10 times better than mine and wasn't needing toned or fading. I thought how the heck could she spends less than $10 for a box of color and I sat for hours and paid x dollars and look like - well I don't want to say the word. This story is long but trust me - let the buyer beware and all this stuff is based on my experience.

No but it doesn't take a PHd in hair doing to know when you've got a bad color and/or cut. Trust me everyone lets you know, plus you see it everytime you pass a mirror. Then throw in there the headache of having a hair do you spend more time doing than living. Experience has taught me and some times as granny would say experience IS the best teacher. There is nothing worse than havaing to deal with bad hair especially when you are willing to pay the price, spend the time and want to look right. Some of these little flips needs to stop experimenting all the time and send people out looking good instead of like a freak. Get the point there?

Tracy at JCP died my hair one time. It looked like a halloween wig. So dark gothic black. So not me. Had to go back get it redone. Def didnt like it. I also would not recommend Wal-Mart Its another placed that jacked up my hair.

Yes DON'T use walmart. I went once couple years back to get my old stack angled up and she cut one side above my ear while the other was at my chin!

I suffered through a bad experience there as well. Did good job for a while then started doing this and that with color. Honestly it affected my personality and attitude. There really isn't anything worse than dealing with bad hair color. I totally agree, these stylist really need to be on the same page with what the customer expects.

I've been to this salon twice. They use SoColor and that is supposed to be really good color but it seems to not be the case at that salon. The second trip I had all I could take with no one manning the phone. The girl working on me had to constantly stop and answer the phone. People came in looking for products, no one to help. She had to stop AGAIN go pick out product, stand and chat with the person then check them out. All this between her text messaging coming in all the time. When shopping at both Knoxville Center and West Town, I have at times gone in to their salon to buy products. Both stores actually have a receptionist who schedules, answers questions and sells the products and answers the phone. The final straw with the Morristown salon was I got home, was looking at my hair and one side was about an inch and half longer. This place needs some management, some more help, and stylists needs a little more training in good coloring techniques and updated training in general. I called before I went to the salon and asked for someone good with color. I was told all our stylists are good with color. Trust me in just two short visits I learned that comment is likely not true.

Cried.
Then the best I could. I kept that side tucked behind my ear for almost a year while it grew out.
