Killed his own grandmother who raised him. Killed J. Large with a tobacco stick and killed another inmate at Brushy Mountain. Any updates

Good question!
If so, what a loss. I hope he is dead!

He should have been put to death in the first place. Killing his grandmother over money for drugs... ugh

I had Nicky Sutton in class....he was a criminal even as a child! When I heard, I could not believe the what he did to those poor people & even his own Grandmother! It was such a shame! He should have been put away before he had a chance to hurt anybody.

I remember that too. I wonder how many years ago it was. Was his grandmother also a teacher? It's a dreadful feeling to have someone in class who seems headed in a wrong direction and be unable to do anything to help them OR protect society from their actions.

Oh I remember him from school. He was always mean. I think he had an older brother? When did all of this happen?

This guy was a waste of skin cells.Nicky grew up with a nice lady whom I dated for 8 years. I actually only met him once and he kept giving me the evil eye. he killed his friend,(and mine)John large in addition to a contractor from K'town and his grandmother. When the news broke, it really shook S. Nicky had been like a brother to her when they were younger, and it just messed with her. I had not heard that he died, if he did it was a little late.

Yep, a lot of my former kids have shown up in crimebeat. But on a positive note, many have turned out to be great citizens.

You dated someone for EIGHT years?? I've known of many marriages that didn't last that long.

The last time I talked to Mrs. Sutton, she was very worried about what was going to happen to Nicky, because she couldn't afford to give him any more money, or had at least decided not to.

I'm a serial monogamist. LOL
Nicky is a prime example of what cocaine can do to a brain that is already having problems. His grandmother would have done anything for him and look what he did. He put a tobacco stalk through his best friends throat so he could more easily drag him up to where he was going to dispose of his body. evil

Nicky was always mean and weird. He would stare at people to creep them out, and he always had an entourage of boys around him (I think most of them were afraid of him). One day in school, we were all outside and he began to hurt a little dog that had strayed onto the school grounds, and at first his boys were egging him on (sp?) and laughing about it. But then, Nicky pulled out a pocket knife and started stabbing the dog, and even the boys tried to get him to stop, because the taunting turned into torture. Me and a group of other girls and boys went inside and told on him. I think he got expelled for 3 days over that. Anyway, I remember going home and telling my mom about it, and she was horrfied. I can distinctly remember saying to her, "He's gonna grow up and kill somebody one day." She reminded me of those words, years later, when he did.

I heard his mother overdosed, and his dad was a drug thug, and that's why is grandmother raised him. I heard she was a fine lady, but really spoiled him (maybe a subconscious overcompensation for his tragic childhood??). And I didn't know John Large personally, but I had 1 class with him and he was a gentleman and extremely intelligent. I was sickened to hear about what Nicky did to him. Last I heard, Nicky had exhausted his appeals for death.

One note of good about this no good person. He was still in Hamblen county when Mary Jones was murdered, Most of you will remember that sad day, Nikki tried to have her killer put in the cell with him so he could eliminate him before he went to trial. Yes he was a very bad citizen but I'll always remember he was willing to at least avenge the death of an innocent.

I went to East Ridge with him in 8th grade. He was scary then. The look he would give people reminds me of Charles Manson--I never would look him in the eyes. And they are right--he always had a group of boys around him--at that time he was surrounded by the boys basketball team. I also had classes with John Large in high school. It seems strange to have known someone this evil!
So does anyone know if he is dead or still living??

Hi Nazareth. I know it is a little off topic but "thank you" for remembering Mary. We grew up in the same neighborhood. I was spending a month at my cousin's farm in Cosby when my Mother came to tell me how my childhood friend had been brutally murdered by a monster and our other friend was fighting for her life. It was absolutely the most horrific memory even now.
Anyway, I'm so glad she has not been forgotten.:)
