I'm looking for an eye doctor in MOrristown. I just recently moved to the area. Is Hyde Eyecare a good choice? They look like a state of the art place. Are the doctors there good?

Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks!

They are way over priced for their services. You can go to the Walmart optics center, get the same glasses or contacts for a 1/4th of the cost, and the exam about 130.00 less.

With all due respec to the DRs at the Walmart shop, Dr Hyde is perhaps one of the very best eye doctors in the United States.
It really comes down to whether you are satisfied with a double cheesburger from McDonalds or you'd rather have a meal at Ruths' Chris. Are you happy with some used tshirts and jeans from Goodwill or would you like to have a two thousand dollar suit?
Do you want to make a stripper form the Mouses Ear your wife or would you rather have a woman with scruples and character?
You get what you pay for.

What is the worst non life-threatening medical affliction you could suffer from? I'd say blindness.
Are you sure you want to trust your sight to the cheapest DR you can find?
Some people are indeed that way. They'll get their car insurance from the cheapest broker, their house insurance from the cheapest source, etc.
Then when it really matters, when their balls are to the wall, they see that their is a reason those places were cheaper and sometimes it's not a pretty picture.

You do get what you pay for....and when you pay Dr. Hyde 4 times what you'd pay anywhere else, remember that what you're paying for is the bill for that Taj Mahal he built to satisfy his ridiculously large ego. It is a testimony to excess. Anyone who builds something like that is overcompensating for something. If I have a real eye problem, I would go to an opthamologist, not an optometrist.

Acutally, the eye doctor at Walmart happens to be Dr. Barnes from Dandrige. He's an excellent eye doctor with credentials just as elaborate as Dr. Hyde. Say what you will, but Hyde Eyecare isn't anything special. What kind of trophies do you need to perform an Eye Exam? None, because the docotors don't even perform those. What kind of trophy do you need to fit someone with the right lens? You don't, because they don't even do that either. If you're needing some kind of eye surgery, or something of that nature, then fine by all means spend the money. But if you're just looking for a good eyecare facility that's very reasonable in pricing and gives you the same service that Hyde does, then Dr. Barnes and anyone else can handle that for you. That's all I'm saying.

We always went to Hyde Eyecare because we liked Dr. Hyde and his associates, but we stopped going two years ago because the lady in charge of the eyeglasses was extremely rude to us.
She wasn't just rude...she gave new meaning to the word. We will never go back there.

So if someone criticizes Dr. Hyde, they must be jealous? Your ignorance is showing again, hon. I have nothing to be jealous of, Tom.

i used to work for dr. hyde, they are good. they mayu be high on some of their prices but they have the best technology offered. when i worked their we won best eye doctors office in the whole united states and dr. hyde took us to las vegas for vacation. he rewarded us well. its a good place if you can afford or if you have insurance, thats even better. it would also depend on your condition, so if you have ever had any kind of brain or face injury or eye surgeries, or diabetes, hbp or any kind of serious medical history then you should really go to dr.hydes cause you will waste your money going to cheaper place after they turn around and refer you somewheres like dr.hydes.

Come on now, admit it. They were both clean and dressed professionally and you hadn't showered in three days and felt self-concious. how dare those ladies smile as they looked at you. You're lucky they didn't bust out laughing. However they are better than that and would never behave that way.

I recomand Hyde's eye care, yeah they are a lil pricey, but all the other "mom and pop" eye care places, will f**K your eyes up with the wrong precription. i have been there and done that IE: Wal-Mart and Family Vision. Family Vision, that DR's equipment is like from the 60's way out of date.

Makes you wonder just how many pairs of glasses have to be sold to pay for that whopping big building. I went there for years then learned that you don't have to have your eyes examined twice a year per federal law, as they said.
