Absolutely correct. I went there once & got a quote for some repairs. They estimated $700,$400 of which was in parts alone. I went to autozone and bought the parts for under $50 & had my car repaired elsewhere for $100. A far cry from the $700 estimate they gave me.

They give you one price when you take it to them and double or triple it when you go to pick it up. Stay clear away from this place.

Murray has always repaired our cars. He is not the welfare office so take some money. On occasion we have purchased a part and had someone else do the work. But, Murray's crew has done a good job. TaTa

I am not from here but have been here with work for several months now.numerous vehicles with a range of auto repairs done at two places and also some vehicle searchs for a second vehicle (have never seen so many car lots in such a small area before)four different large dealerships, for truck repairs/servicings etc and also looking for another vehicle, and a few small car lots later..
I have no real issues with Murrays. Just bought a used vehicle and they were straight up on its issues and also on repair for what the vehicle did lack needing done. cant blame them on putting something on the lot "as is" and letting the buyer know its faults and choose to take it as is and repair it yourself, elsehwere or with them. they are after all a car repair business as well.I was even given the best car history report on it I could ask for, local owned and who it was,the whole cars history.I seriosly doubt given the previous owners name, that I was given any false information on the car. the repairs they did to it and what he stated it cost them to do, what it still lacked and what he paid for the car added up to truth. They also have the CLEANEST inside and out repair shop especially for its obvious age, that I have frequented in my 50 years of car repair and being around mechanics all of my life. The BIG dealerhships I have had experience with, the ford place in both salesmAn and repair experience, fails... BIG time.especially salesmAn,and the SMELL outside the building, fail. the chevy place, fail so big time, salesALL,internet sales especially.BEST big ,royston,AWESOME all the way around even though did no business, may still in the future. One other small car lots who's name eveades me,..awesome as well.will post when i find the card.the man was totally a super non pushy ,friendly, helpful, honest, nice selection of vehicles not overly priced, good condition to excellant condition cars. a few beaters but clean ones.very willing to negotiate.
in my experience SO far,and Im not done due to so many vehicles to be serviced/repaired and maybe purchased or traded for in the next several months, morristown to me is one of the friendliest cities I have had the pleasure to work and stay in.Murrays auto and used cars in my opinion a local family owned business that you really should be proud of in this chain store putting people out of business era.If you had a bad experience with them I have the impression all you need to do is talk to them, they seem negotiable that way.Thats just me,and I know how "small town" things go.Besides autos, repair and sales go I also have experience with various lenghts of stays in every possible size town to large city there is, in 3 countries.Im not here to bash nor promote, lol, just giving my opinion on my experinces. thats what this forum is for, not just bashing, complaining or negative. when a person asks a quetion they should get both sides, right.I would and wll do business with them again.according to servicerecords on this vehicle, the previous owner has done so for the last 18 yrs at least/and when I googled that person I saw nothing but good about them, and no way was murrays telling me a lie or cheating me on either sales or repair. the ford place,if anyone wants specifics I will post it,same as for the others I have mentioned. This topic was murrays.but i did mine via comparison to the others, all within the past 3 months by the way...recent. I really did like their shop, the down home type it is, and anse certified and master mechanic is no small feat.thats as good as the big dealership repair shops.THOSE rates are rediculous! JMO have a great weekend. your lucky to live in such a beautiful piece of our country.

I know this business PERSONALLY, & I know if you want somethin fixed right, the first time, & the work guaranteed then its the place to go. If your just lookin for the fastest, cheapest work, thats undependable, then gamble somewhere else!!! A business doesnt stay in business for that many yrs if they arent doing well & they've been around for some 15+yrs! And of course John at the body shop next door wont have anyhing good to say seeing as though he's a druggie that STABBED the owner of Murrays a few months backs & goes in front of the grand jury soon over the criminal charges! The brothers that run this family business are just good ol country boys who have worked HARD a lifetime for a successful family business! P.S. And Johns lucky there was a child near when that incident happened! Cuz those Murray boys aint small, & ones also military & served in IRAQ & he would've killed John, bare handed!!!

did you notice that someone has "judged" every pot with the eact same icons. especially the "spam" one. Now how is an opinion or comment spam? do they realize that the forum moderator can remove them from having ability to post on the forum for doing so.

well, i appreciate the comments, etc. I rckon sinc Im not from here and first impressions can be a bit off at times and circumstances, I will ask the man we lease a building from to either refer me to a body shop or ask his opinion of johns. in some things a persons personal / home life / has nothing to do with their professional or work life.sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt matter if they are able to get the job done and honestly. I also have seen people be accused of being a peticular type of person over one incident and people who never get caught doing wrong and the public not know how they are outside of work be viewed as pillar of a community. happens everywhere. Its always good to hear two sides of a story or action,or two opinions on a business.
If I asked what hair salon or restaurant or hardware store to go to what would I get on that,? my post marked as spam again? lol

to "personally" I totally agree with your praise of Murays. The brothers reminded me of a small family owned auto repair back home that they need no advertising at all, due to word of mouth over their good work, prices and honesty. If they couldnt do the peticualr work you needed you could bet they will refer you to someone they themselves would or do use.
Murrays was almost like being home and having Tony or David repairing my vehicle again. Right down to all of the memorabilia from nascar they having the shop. You can tell they have been in hat building for a long time just by the memorabilia etc.and like you said they dont stay in business and keep an ANSE certification if they are not good at what they do. ANSE you have to stay on top, know all of the new parts, repairs etc. it isnt get a business license and play with a monkey wrench... just sayin.they seem to take pride in their work, their business and their "shop". Its nice to see someone enjoy their work not just half ass do something because its a paycheck.I mean seriously, in a town with SO many auto repair and auto sales...do you think someone ANYONE wants to own a business where they get their hands dirty every day if they didnt love what they do?
