I have a NFCU Oak Ridge membership for sale for two people. I believe it has two years left on it and it costs roughly $2,000. I'm not really sure, we currently pay $45/person each month, so whatever that comes to. If you're interested in the membership just contact me at [email protected] and I can get you the exact numbers.

Also, the only way you can get out of a membership by moving out of the area is if they DON'T have a partnership gym within 35 miles of your new house. I moved to the Washington DC area and they found a gym about 33 miles from my house, 33 miles in the DC area can take up to 3 hours to get to, but they don't care about that, they just want the money from the contract and there's no way I can get out of it, so ANYONE who wants to buy my contract PLEASE contact me!!!

I wouldn't recommend NFC to anyone. Forget getting out of a contract...you sign, your estate will be billed the balance and if you don't send in a certified cancellation letter 30 days prior to the end of your contract, you will be automatically "re-contracted" for a year. Then they will double your monthly bill with late fees while you try to get it straightened out. Within in 30 days, you are dealing with a collection agency. I signed up for 6 months with a trainer. Somehow the contract was turned into 18 months...very dishonest...if given a sliver of a chance they will cheat...BE SURE TO READ THE FINE PRINT AND READ THE CONTRACT. DON'T BELIEVE WHAT THEY ARE TELLING YOU THAT YOU ARE SIGNING...READ IT FOR YOURSELF. They are prone to make "mistakes". Consider yourself forewarned.

In shape is right. BE SURE TO READ THE CONTRACT. I have two friends who were scamed by them. Signed up for one amount and the contract was something else later.

Me and my friend have both been members going on our 5th year.. I've read the contract and it is right on line with what I was promised/ told.. " at the end of your membership it goes to a month to month membership that can be canceled at anytime with a 30day notice" I think that is pretty standard with most anything... Heck after I finished my cable contract it went to a month to month.... and lol... National Fitness Center DID NOT douple my monthly bill.
We love the place!

I'm trying to sell/transfer my membership. Its 42.95 a month, one person, unlimited access to one NFS. Just changed shifts and hours. Now its nearly impossible to try to go. Its for 3yrs. and I've had it for 3 month. There will not be ANY up front charges; Like the $200 sign up fee. Its Paid for. Your allowed one free tan a week and one free and one free water therapy (massage) a week. Can join any classes ( yoga, water aerobics, body pump, abs, like 4 pages worth of different classes free with this membership. This is Not the rush by Far. It is so much better b/c I've been to both. This gym has bigger, better, newer, hi-tech equipment. I really wish I had the time to go. Email me and I will give my number. [email protected]

I was told previous that someone could take over your membership (aka payments) and be transfered into that persons name/contact info, etc. nothing we ever mentioned about a transfer fee of $195 (whici is RIDICULOUS. I found someone wanting to take over my membership but now am being told about the transfer fee and also that they cannot take over payments but it must be paid in full the remainder of the contract...all in all that is about $600 for 10 months....does anyone have a link to the contract or policy? Seems the gym tells one thing and the rude customer service number tells another.

I do not recommend NFC to anyone. A friend and I both signed up together. The man we spoke with lied to us on several things, one of those being the monthly fee. He had told us that the PT was included with our package but the PT said otherwise. I cancelled my membership before the 3 days were up. I had to pay a $25 cancellation fee. The next month, NFC took the membership fee out of my account. I was furious. I had to call the bank and then NFC. After a long argument, my money was returned to my account. My friend did not cancel her membership. On several occasions, NFC has taken her monthly payment out twice. They are not a good group to deal with.

I still have 2 years left on a personal training contract and would like to get out of it if I could. I moved out of the area and I no longer go there nor do I have a membership to even workout there. It's $35 a month and I would pay any transfer fees.
