We have ate there a couple of times. We had heard about the BBQ... it is supposed to be like North Carolina's with the vinegar base. It was HORRIBLE.
I am just saying... don't get it.. it's gross.

Anyways, I had a yummy burger, you can pick the size you want, which is great because I hate big burgers. I got the one with chili & cheese. SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!! I was shocked at how delicious it was. Good fries.
Great milkshakes.

The 2nd time we went was a little different. I had ordered the spicy chicken strip club sandwich.
Well... first off.. it was completely wrong and not what i wanted. I didn't want to make a big deal so I just bought another sandwich... which was also wrong! It was a little ridiculous.

Dont get the chicken sandwiches... because they are just AVERAGE. I coulda got the same thing at wendy's or hardee's.

On the other hand, their cookout style hot dogs are really good.

On the other hand, I ordered a caramel malt and I told them EXTRA malt specifically... and it didn't have any at all, so you really have to force it if you want extra MALT, or you won't even be able to taste it.

I got a peanut butter malt the first time and it was good.

So anyways overall pretty good..kind of average, except they milkshakes are pretty good.

On a scale of 1-100 (100 being best)... I give it an 85-87 so far. Will update again in future if this changes.

I eat lunch there the other day. It was all good, the burger reminded me of one cooked at my house.

then you must use charcoal to cook on, and squirt on lots and lots of lighter fluid! That is what the burgers taste like. On the other hand, my shake was real good. Better than Sonic

SoulSista2012,Your opinion is noted. Actually I grill with hard wood hickory and oak. Very little charcoal. You must be a big fat lady, if you like the milk shake over the meat.

I assure you I am neither big nor fat. Petite is the word, I believe. Anyway, the reason I liked the shake better than the meat was that my milkshake did not taste like lighter fluid. The only difference between my burger and a charcoal briquette was the burger was not hard.:) The way you prepare your backyard grill sounds delicious. Have a blessed day.

glad your shake was good. Mine had little to very little flavor. Tasted like plain funky vanilla.

what the big deal about Cookout is supposed to be? My fam ate there Thurs night - my single was good but my husb's double had 2 patties but total meat was no more than my single. His box plate had 4 onion rings and a chicken wrap comparable to McD. My kids each had a milkshake - I tried both LOL. One was PB choc and other was fudge - all I could taste was 'sweet' and no other flavor. We'll give it another try sometime but we're not lining up into AJ to wait for the mediocre food.
