It shows different locations depending on your ISP.
On to topic at hand, does anyone know anything about Dr. Jett and Healthstar? He is a Dr. of physical medicine and rehabilitation.
So what the heck does ISP stand for? I have thought it to be a little strange that so many different names are from little Russellville, TN.

Speaking of Medical people, last Monday I was examined by an excellent liver specialist at Vanderbilt. On March 17th, I will be examined by hopefully, an excellent surgeon at the same place will check out a hernia that nobody wants to have any part of repairing. This tells me it is NOT your average hernia that is simple to repair.

The only pain I have, and it is intense, is coming from my hip. Next week or as soon as possible, I will be going to Dr. Jett. I cannot make myself believe that he will be much better than a
Chiropractor that I went to for months about back and shoulder problems. Alas, all of those visits were for nothing, no improvement whatsoever. I guess if Dr. Jett cannot help with my pain I will go to somebody else but first things first. Stay tune friends and neighbors.

This may have been covered here before but does anyone know anything about Lakeway Reginonal Hospital? My mother is having a procedure done there at the end of the month. I recently moved back here and remember it when it was Humana. I actually met their CEO, Pricsilla Mills, and she seemed very nice and concerned about the quality of heathly care that her hospital provided....any thoughts???

Jerry, ISP stands for Internet Service Provider ie, Charter, Bellsouth, etc. Depending on what ISP you have then the location below the name (unless you're registered) can vary. If you use a dial up it will most likely change your location every time you post and that is because when you use dial up you may "dial up" from a number of different locations. I have Charter and am not registered but my ISP # doesn't change.

I was curious about Dr. Jett as my son has an appointment with him next week. He has seen a physical therapist (liked her but she wasn't sure what she was treating), orthopedist (won't name names but was not happy with him AT ALL) who didn't even focus on the problem area but turned straight to the knee which he is notorious for liking to operate on. Anyway, Dr. Jett is our next avenue and if he doesn't fix the problem or find someone who will I will continue my search for someone who knows what the he** they are talking about when it comes to my son and his inability to be a kid because of the pain in his hip and leg.

If I had to choose between the two local hospitals I would choose Lakeway. Morristown Hamblen may be more "modern", nicer patients rooms, etc. and they may have a nice pretty bow on the outside but I wouldn't take my dog to that ER or hospital unless I had no other choice and I do. I've had 2 emergency surgeries recently and both were done at Lakeway. When I have to go to the ER (I am hypertensive and it gets out of hand a lot) I go to Lakeway and I've never had to wait.

I hope your Mom's procedure goes well!!!

I'd stay clear of Dr. Page as well. And also Dr. Bratton at Healthstar...

And if I had to choose a hospital, I'd go to St. Mary's in Jeff City over either hospital in Morristown.

One very good Dr. is Dr. Milligan in Jeff City, General Surgery....He removed my child's apendix, and we were extremely grateful for all he did durning that time.

Another good Dr. for stomach type issues, is Dr. Adams, in Morristown, a wonderful Dr.!

And Dr. Mark Davenport there is an excellent anesthesiologist.

Also Jefferson Family Physicians in Jeff. City at the old hospital. Dr. Donna Dillard, and Dr. McNabney, both wonderful doctors! And Christina Smith also, a wonderful 'doc'.

For Ear, Nose, Throat...Dr. Dillard and Dr. Little...both wonderful docs.

Dr. Davenport is wonderful! Not to bad to look at either...lol

If anyone needs a good OB/GYN I would suggest Dr. Scott Matson. He used to be in with Healthstar but left that practice and now he is in New Tazewell. Not to far of a drive and he is worth it. His nurse Rhonda is awesome! They both have the best bed side manner you could ask for. They make you feel comfortable and treat you like a human being. They listen to what you have to say. I guess I am biased in a way because Dr. Matson saved my life almost 2 years ago when I suffered from a ruptured fallopian tube from a ectopic pregnancy. Anyone who knows anything about ectopic pregnancies knows time is of the essence once that tube ruptures. If I could go to him for everything, I would in a heartbeat! He too is easy on the eyes and makes that dreaded "yearly" a little more fun!

Lisa I will definitely agree with you!

Another good OB/GYN is Dr. Curtis Elam in Knoxville, known as themommydoctor. He is wonderful as well...

Yes lisa, Dr. Coffee, he has an office in Morristown and Jefferson City. He did braces on both my daughters. He does things the old fashion way, in my opinion, not all fast and over with like some today, but what he does lasts...One of my girls wore braces for about 3 yrs. The other..about 10 months total...we were only correcting a cross bite, to try to help her TMJ and so far, she has had no problems with the TMJ since the braces. She had one of those Julia Roberts perfect smiles to start with...lucky kid!

But he does excellent work, and the staff at his office are wonderful...they to go back and forth between the two offices...so you see the same people no matter which office you go to.

For what it's worth Lisa, I am looking for an ortho too. Have heard several negative comments about Dr. Coffey.

Just curious why you feel that way about him. I thought he was primarily doing disability claims now, and some house calls.

Dr. Jett does a great job; he is not simply a therapist, he does some injections, prescribes medications when appropriate. Not a chiropractor, Jerry. Far from it. Not that there's anything wrong with a chiropractor, I use Dr. Kirk every time my back hurts, but with joints that are worn out, they either have to be replaced or you have to find a way to decrease the pain...which warrants a visit to someone like Dr. Jett.

Recommending doctors is *so* arbitrary. What I look for in a doctor is not necessarily what someone else wants. Yes we all want to feel better, get better, understand what is going on, etc. and we want our doctors to be competent and compassionate. We want the office staff to be helpful and the offices to be well maintained and accessible. However, I tend to be the "get me in, tell me what the issue is what I can do and get me out of there as quickly as possible" type of patient while others like to do a little more socializing with the doctor, more like the way it used to be before health care costs and insurance companies started dictating that doctors needed to see more patients to make up for malpractice insurance, etc. There are many other differences but keep that in mind when reading recommendations. It would be helpful in recommending (or not) physicians if you give some reasons so we can see if they are important to us as potential patients.
There are doctors I like as physicians but have issues with their staff or the way the office is managed so I can't recommend them, which is unfortunate.

I do have to second kim's recommendation of Dr. Kirk as a chiropractor. The staff is great, and Dr. Kirk has helped me on many occasions when I did not have an appointment but was in pain. I had never been to a chiropractor before needing his services (car accident) and was a little unsure, but he has helped me a great deal. He does not push me to visit more than I need and does not push products on me to use (but does recommend them if you ask.) He has worked with my insurance company to make sure everything is covered and that I am being treated right. He gets an "A" from me!

May I suggest Dr. Gibson? I took my child to him and was very please with the treatment. He is a perfectionist. He is always up to date on the new technologies.

As for any doctors here in morristown.. it is uo to anyone to take that risk with any of them. If you really have a serious problem .. I BEG YOU PLEASE DO NOT FOOL WITH ANY MORRISTOWN DOCTOR!!!! Plus for all those out there who have kids and us a pediatrician... I WARN YOU DO NOT TAKE THEM TO HAMBLEN PEDIATRICS!!! THEY ARE MONEY HUNGRY DOCTORS!!! Docters are cheaters of their wives, alcoholics, drug abusers, abusive to their patients and staff. They try to pretend to love god and your children , but if you want to know the truth ,their the devils advocates. They will kill your kids with misdiagnoses!!! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM HAMBLEN PEDIATRICS FOR YOUR CHILDS SAKE!!!
