Ok, I'm trying to find information for a friend. Does tenncare/wic cover a breast pump? If so what is the procedure? Any info will be appreciated. TIA

Wic provides loaner breast pumps. If they are receiving Wic they just need to call and make an appointment with the breastfeeding peer counselor or nutritionist.

Tenn care will pay for the hand pump you are given at the hospital .

You can get them for less than $20 at Walmart or Kmart. Depending on the brand you can get an online coupon for it sometimes.

By law most insurances will PAY for a breast pump. Being as they are supposed to support breast feeding. call and ask tenncare WIC loans them out from what I saw a mexican was getting one a month ago from WIC but now since the shutdown you might have to wait

I am just asking because this young lady is having a hard time financially right now. She works full time and still barely makes ends meet. She is only planning on taking a 4 week leave for work so she can still provide a roof for her child. I'm trying to help her find a breast pump to help her save on buying formula... Formula cost 13-16$ a can close to 200$ a month. A breast pump would be a one time purchase of around 300$ and she could still work. Please try and use a little compassion before you reply. At some point, I'm sure you have needed a hand.

And here's a thought for you...ever hear of Free Speech? Guaranteed by the US Constitution. Why do you think our country is in such bad dire straits? BECAUSE people like you are way TOO dependent on the good ole govt for your every need. Negative? No, just tired of seeing the system abused on a daily basis. Here's another thought for you...don't have kids if you can't afford to deed them...birth control is a whole lot cheaper. Mine opinion and I am entitled to it whether you like it or not.

You are indeed entitled to your on opinion, but that doesn't mean said opinion isn't incredibly uninformed, arrogant, and indicative of your being an a**hole.

Questions???
What would you do if tomorrow you walk in to work and you no longer had a job?
How would you pay your bills? Electric Bill/ Water Bill/ Groceries/ Medicine/ Gas/ Phone
What would you do if you didn't have job? Really just think long and hard for about 10mins.
What would you do,(if) you went to every job place in the county including Temp Service jobs and no-one would hire you?
Not everyone that gets government help is abusing the system. I know with out a doubt it is very wrong to see people that make around 3,500 or more a year driving around in their nice 40,000 dollar vehicles living it up in there 200,000 dollars homes continuing to suck the tax payers dry it is WRONG very wrong but believe it or not these people are getting caught everyday weather you see it on the NEWS,in the paper or whatever it is happening.
Just letting you know that if I was you I wouldn't be so quick to judge others without knowing their story you could be in there shoes one day.. by the way it may be sooner than later for you.

I hope to God that you or someone you love is never in a predicament where they need help. I've been working for almost ten years and have been paying taxes for other people to use government funding and therefore feel that I have every right to take help where I need it. Your comments are not only cruel and unprovoked, they're judgmental and ignorant. Also, you may want to consult a dictionary when shouting insults seeing as how that may make people take you more seriously. Although, considering your posts, I doubt even proper spelling and grammar would help your case.

Sorry, but unless you earned a bunch more money than I think you did, you likely got back in tax refunds nearly everything withheld from your checks during those 10 years. That being the case, you didn't pay for much of anything. Just saying.

People who find themselves in a tough spot should be able to get some help. For awhile. To get back on their feet. Taxpayers shouldn't be on the hook for the rest of their lives. People should take responsibility for their choices.

Just because people are on tenncare doesn't mean they don't work. It's done by income.

You do realize until recently not everyone was offered insurance through a job. And now when you apply for insurance if you don't make a certain income you get tenncare EVEN IF YOU HAVE NO CHILDREN.
