The owner of Packard's Games & Movies, John Packard, recently filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. I think they have like 15 or 20 stores. I am curious to know what might become of his stores. Wouldn't they put a lien on his inventory or do you think they will allow him to keep operating. I have heard that he is scrambling to sell off some locations in an attempt to hide the money from the bankruptcy. Does anyone know any info or if the stores will close soon?

He sold the Morristown store. See the other thread about this store. I hope people think before making a purchase here. .

The bad thing about anyone making deals to buy these stores is that per bankruptcy laws, any large shifting of assets that are outside the normal course of business would be considered fraud, and they can come after them even though they are in different hands. Pretty scary stuff. I have read news stories about people losing out big time like that.

I just talked to the Oak Ridge store which is still open.

If you had a card from one of the other stores then you need to email:

[email protected] il.com and request a form to file a claim.

Then they will honor the card in Oakridge once the Trustee verifies the claim

I worked for this company and let me tell u, this guy and any employees loyal to him screwed many a customer and all employees. But rest assured those employees that got screwed by john p. Got theirs and then some. Let's just say they helped in someway dig that man a deeper hole. This guy was a crook and showed excellent service to other crooks like the pill heads and thieves. They interviewed tons of people charging like 30 bucks an interview and never intended on hiring anyone.
