I agree with you they're both very good ball players and really carry the morristown team and from what I seen the 3rd basemen is a good pitcher and then they pulled him and brought 2 other kids in that couldn't find the strike zone and really cost them the game.

Both of these teams are very good. The ss & 3b for Morristown is fantastic. Their first 4 hitters are super and that is no knock on the rest of the team. Greeneville's coach does a nice job he just gets after it kinda like your 9-10 National Coach does. I have been to both games and overall they are pretty evenly matched. Which ever one wins will represent this district well at the state. Morristown is always strong in both baseball and softball and you have to give them their due, also Greeneville desrves the same as they now give Morristown at least a little trouble since they moved in that distric 5 years ago.

My son played on the 9 yr old All Stars this year and even though they lost 2 games and did not win 1 game, they still kept their chins up and the parents kept their heads up and mouths shut. People, we can't win 'em all and as soon as you and your kids learn this they will be better off. At least in my opinion you win and you lose in life. We can't let the little thing that are supposed to be fun in life, turn into ugly.I just read these ball posts ( a few ) and cannot believe how nasty you people can be. Don't post others names unless u post your own. RIDICULOUS
Good job. I totally agree with what you said. I cannot believe that adults act this way. I think a lot of adults need to take lessons from these kids that everyone is bashing. This forum makes the people that are trying to defend the kids, and try to reason with unreasonable people, not want to post their names for fear of causing all of the nasty people to single out their kids which would defeat the purpose of defending the kids.....all the kids.....American and National....and all age groups.

All Morristown teams need our support. It's our town and our kids.

Baseball is narrowed down to the 11-12 yr American team and the City Championship coach, the guy that says the same things at games that he's said on this board. I've heard him run that mouth to my kid's team parents about his own players while his kids were in the dug out. He's a real Cocky person in person as well as on forums.
I've been reading these forums and have been totally disgusted at a lot of the comments and accusations that have been made without the person posting the comments even thinking of the people, especially the kids that they would hurt. If you are so sure that Baseball Daddy is the person that you are insinuating him to be, then you would also know that particular coach did post a comment with his name attached, not Baseball Daddy. Please refer to comment #59 when you are trying to say that Baseball Daddy is the 11-12 Americans and City Championship Coach. There has been numerous people try to tell you that Baseball Daddy himself said he was with the 13-14 year olds!!!

Well I guess one thing is for certain they do not teach grammar in Greene County. Guess that's why the people in Greeneville dislike people from Morristown so badly. So that will explain why they are so loud and mouthy, at least when they speak aloud they only show but part of their intelligence.

Travel ball is the main reason we have a lot of 18 year old seniors at the high school level getting burned out. And half of the travel ball coaches are simply just dad's that realized it's different from rec ball and they can actually make money doing it. Sorry to get off topic, just kinda chaps my arse.
Whoever stated the above is totally wrong ... 18 year old seniors are burned out because high school coaches force them to play one sport 10 months a year ... bring back the multi sport athelete
How does anyone think that Travel Ball coaches make money coaching travel ball. It is exactly the opposite because some coaches spend a lot of their own money on the kids that aren't as fortunate as others. Travel ball is expensive and these coaches lose money, not make it. Some families make a lot of sacrifics in order for their child to do something that means alot to him, play the competitive baseball that you find in travel ball. If that is what the kid wants to do, then more power to him/her. That's better than sitting inside on a computer all day........

Well now we know why most Greeneville parents and grandparents are so loud and mouthy at baseball games and other sports. I sure hope things have improved since they went through school.

I am one of the moms that you are refering to and we never never never never never never said anything to the pitcher or any other greeneville player! Of all the ten years that my son has been in sports I have never said anything to one of the other players. We went back there while our boys were at bat to cheer them on and try to get them fired up to hit the ball.

I totally agree anyone who downs travel ball doesn't know anything about it. Another thing is if a high school kid gets burned out its not because of travel ball. Travel ball is mis-understood by so many that just want to bash. Yes there is excellent competition and you choose when and where you play. It gives a kid the chance to get better, and the younger they get into it the better. You can take a young kid and let him play recreation baseball only and he will get so far behind one that plays either both travel and/or recreation. Practice and repitition at anything makes you better. Now as for getting paid for travel ball that is the exact opposite. Coaches and parents of kids that play make great sacrifices and 99.9% of the time its the kids decision not the parents. Most parents such as I would rather be at home, but its a sacrifice I am willing to do for my kid. Ask any young player that plays, its usually their idea, those that might be the .001% are probably troubled kids that are over video gamed, getting into early sex or some other way to misuse their time.
As for most of the posts on this blog...I am at a loss for words. Rec ball is a staging ground to get to all-stars, and yes get to play better teams thats why its called all-stars. Kids are picked because they are good enough to play competitively and if they cannot they are not picked. This is real world and not everything is fair, those old enough to be a parent should know what I'm talking of. As for some of you that talk trash shame on you, this is the great American game.
If Morristown wants to talk some smack to Greeneville thats part of the game, they apparently have a reason to feel the way they do. Most of the time Morristown does end up on the Top thats just history. Back when my son played we had very competitive games with Greeneville, we usually won though and yes they were loud then too.
We felt just like the Morristown Americans unbeatable, nothing wrong with feeling that way and apparently they can back it up also. I do feel that trashing fellow townspeople is wrong though, hey we got to live together. Talk smack thats game day normal, just make sure you can back it up.

i still think most of the coaches in our rec dep are self serving (with the exception of Gar, Billie Rae, and a couple of others) And I think the parents of many all-stars, most specificially hank's all star team, are obnoxious. all of them. even the kids who sit on the bench in all stars (who shouldn't have been there to start with) are too cocky for their own good having learned it from their parents and from being around other cocky people. I was at their last game and I know for certain that a couple of the moms are pathetic parents. As for travel ball, whoever said the parents were sacrificng alot is correct. They are sacrificing a life that would be easier on a kid - staying home on the weekend and having some down time. NONE of these kids are ever going to make the pros. And most of them are NEVER going to college to play ball. You'll see many of them won't ever even keep their grades up to make the college team even if they are good unless they get special permission. Many of the kids that have rich parents seem to do ok in grades but there are others that just don't cut it and even though that is beside the issue their skills in baseball alone will prevent them from ever going to college or making pros. So find something else to do wtih all your time and money. what a waste.

Typical reaction I bragg on your team and some of your players specifically and I get creamed. Your folks blasted our coach about behavior and made the 20 run statements not me. I guess those two players couldn't here there moms support from right beside the dugout where they set most of the time. I am not here to act like a kid I repeat Morristown has a very fine team and if they beat Greeneville will represent the district very well. I notice I am not getting alot of the same respect for the Greeneville Team however.

I do not mean to brag and will not attempt to but fortunately when it comes to baseball I am pretty good at predictions. I have attended every game at Rogersville 13-14 all stars. Greeneville fans are loud and obviously rude! I have a son that plays baseball on the team and we are very capable of a 20 run slaughter so lets not go there. Another thing is I believe any team can win on any given day. I don't believe in the loud hollering and screaming and the clapping everytime little Johnny lets a poot, or catches a ball. Its ok to root for your players and team but why be so loud, it causes our parents to get loud in return just enjoy the game. When you get behind tonight I will keep our parents from rubbing to much and lets just enjoy. Theres nothing wrong with being 2nd we still got to the final game. Now I don't agree with some of the brags that have been posted by some of the American parents but we are proud of our kids also. And yes we are talented and yes moreso than an average team, thats not the kids fault. They just want to play and enjoy the game. So dont be ugly Greeneville we gave you the last game when we had it won, that won't happen again. Good luck to both teams and lets support our boys.

How do you know where the mothers sit? Rogersville city park / ballfield is a public place and they paid their $3.00 parking so they
can sit or stand wherever they choose. Please go pick on somebody else. Good luck to both teams!
