Dear Devin.

Your father let you down. He should have went to you and hugged you and asked you what really happened. He should of realized you may have made a mistake and became scared and fled the scene out of fear. Your father should of helped you to understand the consequences of your action, and helped guide you to accept responsibility for your actions. Instead, you and him continued to try and live your lives as if nothing happened.
Your father now has to live with your pain and his pain of losing a child to the legal system which will deal with you to bring justice to a grieving family who lost a son that night.
You have given up all that you loved. Motorcyles, cars, and freedom to travel long and short distances. Of course you will be given your 15 minutes of fame in the press, papers, and here on Topix.
I can not imagine having to lose a son by accident or lack of responsibilty made by his own freewill. Your father will bear the pain and the shame of knowing he let you down.

Another Dad.

Well worded. Your thoughts tell us a lot about the person you are.

I would just like to add one more thought that I have:
No leniency from the courts. He needs max. sentence so others will take notice.

Get off your high horse, if you thought for one minute you impressed anyone with your letter you're terribly mistaken, you sound like an idiot yourself. To come on a topix and proclaim your righteous knowledge and to assume you know either family is incredibly ignorant on your part. Justice will prevail with out your dumb a*s logical thinking, why don't you take your useless time and spend it with your own family. You are not making the victim's family feel any better with your egocentrically thoughts, it's obvious your only looking for ATTENTION!!

Will justice really prevail? The family lost a loved one and he will be sentenced for only a fraction of time compared to what that family lost. I think the person who wrote had the mind set of the family of that boy killed. The high horse comments were made because of the other family's complete lack of feelings. Somebody in that family should have talked that kid giving himself up long ago. Any person that is normal would have fessed up the next day. All comments made are because of that lack of feelings on that day. Justice? All that is left of that boy is memories. I hope that kid get locked up for life, we don't need those sort of people in our society.

If you think that he did this and your defending him than you are a bigger scumbag than he is. He made a decision to get drunk and drive and it caused the death of an innocent person. I hope that if he did do this, he is a shattered old man by the time he gets out.

Everyone who knew what really happened needs a good slap. Does not matter if it was your son or a family member. Anyone who knew for sure what really happened should have come forward. What if it was your family member who was killed.

At least the State Police took the lead in this, not the city cops.

Now look at you go and call people names. Nobody said that they thought that he did this, and nobody was defending him. What they did was try to show how wrong you were for writing, YOUR INSTAGATING STATEMENT.

Well now, don't you sound like a tough girly man. Everyone on here knows that with the so called justice system in this country he will serve at the most 3-5 years after making his deal with the over paid DA. The victim is never considered during prosecution, only expediency to get the criminal to accept a deal. I think you will just have to continue snuggling up to your imaginary Harley little girl.

That's telling them. I used to ride about 110 horses on my hog. Then I decided to go wine tasting. What does egocentrically mean?
