Yes, they really should be. Such a senseless, preventable death of a healthy young man.

He was given anti biotics on Saturday and Monday morning returned to hospital with swollen tongue and throat. Too swollen for breathing tube and trach. Went into cardiac arrest and passed at the hospital. I'm not a doctor or anything but I'm not sure how someone could be too swollen for a trach or how a healthy young person was unable to be revived. Something just doesn't seem right.

He had abscess teeth that he was given the antibiotics for is what we were told. Went back because his throat was swollen as stated above. I too an wondering how his throat was too swollen for a trach. I thought that's why you used one?

I would not trust Clearfield for anything serious, especially after hearing this news. Bandages and stitches, otherwise go somewhere that's serious about it. I've heard multiple disaster stories about that place.

He was allergic to the medication. He didn't know he was which meant the hospital didn't know he was. I've heard terrible about this hospital too but I don't think this was all their fault. It was a mistake..not anyone's fault. Some cases trachetomoys can be used but not all. I'm sure all was done that could have been done. They wouldn't let a young man die on purpose. We are not doctors.. we were not there to see what happened. Mny things could have been down to help prevent this from happening. But, when your doctor calls you in a script are they calling you every hr to make sure you aren't having a bad reaction? It was one of those one in a million cases.

No, but if he went back presenting problems of mucal and facial swelling after being there a few days earlier and put on new meds. They should have seen he was showing signs of anaphylaxis, a dose of epinephrine would have worked wonders. Clearfield hospital is careless and dismissive of their patients, a lot of times they push people out the door without thoroughly and critically thinking about what could potentially be wrong.

Well said. Many people, including myself have been subjected to Clearfield hospitals lack of critical thinking, but in this case...I truly believe that it greatly contributed to Chris's passing!

It was the hospitals fault. The infection in his tooth attacked his throat and thats why it was swelling. His throat was swollen the first time he was there but they didnt do anything but shove him out the door with prescription in hand. I hope they are held accountable!

Oh my God. This just breaks my heart. I don't know how these people can call themselves doctors.

They severed an artery when trying to give him his trech.
He didn't die from the infection, or the swelling....
these are words that came straight from his mother....

First I'm hearing of this. Most wondered why he wasn't given a trach, so I hope this is false.
