All you Village supporters are constantly going on about how terrible the MBPOA is. But, you keep copying everything that they do. It's hilarious really. The MBPOA had a children's halloween party, so the Village had the "frightfest". Then MBPOA has music cafe's with open mic night and poof, the Village (cultural arts is the village, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise) has music nights and open mic nights. Now the MBPOA has Music By the Bay and the Blue Claw Crab Festival and the village is having Nautical Festival (which one of the days actually happens to be the same as Music By the Bay). If the MBPOA is so bad, then why are you stealing all of it's ideas and functions? Oh, and by the way, there is no cover charge for Crab Festival or Music By the Bay and the village is Charging an admission fee.

Why can't the people of Mastic Beach have things to do on alot of summer weekends, There are enough weekends in Summer to all of these things.

Stop being copycats and get an original idea.

Oh, so every other village, town and county that have similar events all copied the MBPOA, huh.

Wow, you guys really are trend setters. Boy, who would have thought that the MBPOA was the originator of all those events.

Tell me, were you guys planning on taking credit for the creation of marinas and stick docks, too. Or just the crappy way you run them?

Hah! Too funny. I just think its Dickish of the village to have their event on the same night. They knew the POA was throwing it and the date.
Where exactly does Gay plan on having everyone park? Is he going to use Ancors parking lot? Hope the new owner knows about it! and he's charging to attend? Have fun

again, CAG IS the village! Run by Gary wife, and the event is taking place AT Gary's marina! Can't get any more "village"than that!
Didn't the Village give money to them to start? I believe they did. But yet WFSD says they sponsor them? Seems like one more thing the DA should look into.

If the Village wanted to, they could have made this a combined effort. Their event could have been in the daytime until 5pm and the MBPOA's event is already scheduled for evening. This would have been a better plan, but instead, we have pitted the residents against each other once again. Bad for morale. Bad for Community. Bad for everyone.

Your powers of deduction are, shall we say, lacking. But anyway, is it possible to have more than one sponser? I think so.

It is possible to have more than one sponsor; but it was started by a grant from the Village. The Deputy Mayor's Wife runs it; and they always announce The Cultural Arts events at the Village Meetings. If it looks like a duck....well, you know the rest.

Very nice! Does COPYCAT really think there is a conflict? Just think about it, most people are not likely to want to attend both events since the likely participants do not frequent each others activities.

I'm gonna take an inexperienced and uninformed guess here and say that I think the poor little, unsuspecting duck could be in for the shock of its little life.

"Music By The Bay
Live music at sunset will be the highlight of “Music by the Bay,” The free-to-the-public family event will take place at Marina 1 in July."

I have a question. I have checked all of the back issues of the newsletter, and aside from the June newsletter that came out yesterday, I see no mention of the July 27th date for the Music by the Bay event.

In fact, the CAG published their date weeks ago and it seems that the MBPOA only made their date known to people two days ago.

I remember from past years that a yearly schedule of events usually went out by January or February in the monthly newsletter. Just when did the MBPOA do that this year?

I don't think you did. So tell the good people of the village, when was it that you first announced your July 27th date? Your accusing the CAG of using "your" date - prove it.

And please, if your going to attempt to say you always hold it that weekend, don't bother. In past years the date has varied by more than seven days, so it could have been either of two weekends.

Also, if you don't announce it formally, then don't expect other organizations to play psychic and guess when it will be.
