My goodness Beach Man. You now imply that gay women have an affinity for unlady like threats of castration?

I hope you don't fall out of favor with any gay friends you may have. Who will you have to agree with all your uninformed, incorrect facts? Maybe you can find new friends in Babylon?

Thanks whoopsing. Food for thought. I don't like being surrounded by run down depressing buildings.
There are a few buisnesses that have managed to do well despite the condition of the buildings they occupy. I guess its how you look at it, but I agree it would be a tough go at it in some of the smaller, older buildings that have outlived their expiration date.A lot of good people recognize this, its still a work in progress.

Village should start an acquisition fund to acquire and demolish the shacks to make parking lots so Neighborhood Rd can be less cluttered. Can you believe people are living in those things?

to bad the group that formed the village stopped the plans to renovate Neighborhood rd. remember how Stanzoni was going to build all new buildings with second floors above? But that group didn't want the "Mexicans" to move in? Now we are stuck with a village and shacks for a business district.oh well, as long as Gary's making money, we can all live in this crap hole.
When IS the village going to give us their plans for the future village? It's been 3 years already. Short of re-zoning Gary's marina, I don't think they have any plans for the future? Hopefully I'm wrong, but we'll see.

Living in them ? Really ? Anyway, aquiring them only bails out the owners, who I have a tough time sympathizing with.

I have no sympathy for them either but sometimes you have to sacrifice for the greater good.

This is great. I am constantly shopping for high quality recycled furniture like what you sell in Bellport and the Hamptons.
It's nice to know we have a local craftsperson. Please post your business name and phone number. I would like to see what you have available.
Many thanks. And don't worry about Neighborhood Road. Things will get better eventually.
As of now I am working out of a family members basement. People bring me "stuff" they have acquired like old barn doors, old shutters, windows, dining room chairs, all kinds of things and they show me which room in their home they would like to show it off in. I up-cycle the piece into something useful or decorative. I have had great success so far and that is why I am looking for a shop. I would like to make other pieces and sell them.

I have an awful habit of taking it for granted that men are the only ones posting on topix. My apologies for my sexist attitude. By adding further comments on your part about keeping it my pants and threats of castration is not very lady like. Do you write from experience? I would guess divorced or gay. Good luck with your little shop.
Happily married for 27 years now. Two great children, a nice home, new cars in the driveway, I'm blessed, thank you. As far as my unlady like behavior, not only are you prone to sexism, you also have a terrible habit of inference, I simply gave you a suggestion based on the widely known consequences bestowed upon men who place themselves in similar situations. Additionally, if it was a direct threat, are you suggesting that because I am a woman I should just cower to your harsh remarks? Get your head out the sand Beach Man, welcome to the twenty first century. I speak to people the same way they speak to me. I asked a question, you replied with combative remarks based on assumptions you made about what my post was suggesting.
The irony is that I agree with you concerning Bellport and The Hamptons. It's no different but I don't want to open a shop in those towns. And FYI, I voted against the village, I have already been through it twice; Amity Harbor and Islandia.
The reason I don't like to go down Neighborhood Rd. is because its depressing. I like to be surrounded by nice things, even if they aren't mine. It makes me feel good, gives me a positive outlook. Its a personal choice to which I am entitled.

I wonder if you remember what the leading civic group supported as to the J2 zoning you are describing? I remember the civic president was a realtor who worked for Stanzoni at that time. Was there support?

The people have spoken. They have decided that people and businesses are going to be drawn here to look at trees and birds.

Maybe town can open as a tree nursery and have a place that sells bird seed?

It's CONDO time. Eminent domain, baby! Did anyone happen to notice MBV slipped in a multi-family zone? Bulldozers, start your engines!

Yeah, Baby! Bring on the dozers. The second zoning commission happened because the people didn't like the first commission's ideas. The second commission gave a voice to the people. With that voice the people did nothing. Waste of time. Bulldoze it.

Multi-family zone gave zoning preference to condo/townhouse development along Neighborhood Rd and surrounding areas. Get moving! Get rid of all the shit shacks.
