What are some of the plans to make MBV a better place? Code enforcement has helped a bit, I have seen some houses cleaned up but nothing really changed much. I have a little home business making up-cycled furniture. Most of my customers are in the Hamptons and Bellport Village, this town would be a great middle ground. If I knew Neighborhood Rd was going to be cleaned up, I would move into a shop there. But as of now, I won't even drive on it.

You act as if Neighborhood road is a war zone. I go out to the Hamptons and I see section 8 on Montauk Highway next to all the businesses. Bellport Village has one of the worst areas on LI. Your just trying to be dramatic to make yourself look better. If you cant drive here say in your house. Mamby Pamby

Oh Lord, I am being dramatic? You don't think I know about the Hamptons and Bellport? I'd like a shop on Neighborhood Rd because it would be a good location for me. However, if it keeps LOOKING like it does now no one will ever shop there. All I was wondering if there are plans to make the appearance better, cleaner, more inviting. GEESH! Put a nitro pill under your tongue! BTW - Why would I try to make myself look better? To whom? All I want is to make money with my craft! Is that a problem for you? And if I did open a shop it would be clean, well kept, eye appealing and tasteful....would I then be chastised for being "dramatic" or "better"?

Eye appeal is buy appeal! Its that simple. Someday people will wake up and realize that no matter what its called, no one will come here until it is clean! Who cares if there is DSS or section 8? CLEAN IT!!! Its not the people, its the dirt and grime, literally! The shoddy buildings. Soap, water, some paint and a lot of pride can cure a lot!

If there are plans for Neighborhood Rd., I don't know about them. Those properties are privately owned. It is my understanding that the Board has limited, if any, control over them, other than enforcing health/safety/code issues. For private properties to change, the owners need to be willing to renovate or sell for any real change to take place. There are incentive programs for that. There is something else. It's that nasty clause "eminent domain." Would the Board invoke it? Who knows. Careful what you wish for. I go through town all the time. Of all the businesses in Mastic Beach I think I patronize three. Sad state of things. OK ... I'm ready ... go ahead and slam me.(I don't mean you, Newbie.)

If I'm not mistaken, theres a new buisness opening up on Neighborhood (meat market) and Village hall will be moving to the nutrition center. So things are looking up Newbie. It's good news to hear that you show an interest in our community. Welcome!

Bunny? Nice? LMAO Thanks. But not so much of a lone voice. Not a MBV supporter but its a nice town. And if you don't feel safe walking our streets go walk Bellport or Hampton at 2am. You'll be just as dead. There I go again. Where is my heart med when I need it.

That's not drama, that's fact. Why are you even replying? You have not said one single constructive thing. You are spinning your own tale based on who, in your own delusional mind, you think I am. Sounds like the definition of a dramatist to me.

Grow a pair? Tell me, is that how you speak to all women or is that just a catchy phrase you save for women on the internet? Instead of asking me to "grow a pair", I suggest you keep yours in your pants; some people have a nasty habit of cutting them off if you dangle them in their faces.

Thanks whoopsing. Food for thought. I don't like being surrounded by run down depressing buildings.

This is great. I am constantly shopping for high quality recycled furniture like what you sell in Bellport and the Hamptons.

It's nice to know we have a local craftsperson. Please post your business name and phone number. I would like to see what you have available.

Many thanks. And don't worry about Neighborhood Road. Things will get better eventually.

I have an awful habit of taking it for granted that men are the only ones posting on topix. My apologies for my sexist attitude. By adding further comments on your part about keeping it my pants and threats of castration is not very lady like. Do you write from experience? I would guess divorced or gay. Good luck with your little shop.
