Good, one more down... Let's hope for some non-chain restaurants... However, a Starbucks would be nice...

It's a premier site as it's one of the first commercial parcels seen as you enter the area from Sunrise highway...

Here comes the unsought of Troll Responses...

Why not report on the Drugs and hookers in Roy Rogers Parking Lot in Shirley?

Instead it is all about the last Roy Rogers closing down.

Unfortunately we have too many fast food chains and little else. With no sewer hookups as of this moment, it's hard to get many restaurants to be built for dining.

I couldn't believe there was a Roy Rogers here when we moved to Shirley in late 2003. I've been there a few times, but not as much as when I used to go when I was a kid. I think the last time I went before Shirley, was the location in Merrick or East Meadow not sure. Anyway I'll miss that place.
Was thinking the other day that location should put up some type of historic landmark sign marking the last standing Roy's. Oh Well.

I remember the Roy Rogers on RT 110 in East Farmingdale when they first opened and it was very good. It was a good location and I was surprised when it closed down. The one in Shirley sucked big time and could have been better if managed properly.

I guess the schwoogie drug dealers will move to Boston Market or Pudgies.

This was just a spot for people to buy and sell drugs. I don't think they sold a burger in 10 years at this Roys.

A lot of these fast food establishments like Roy Rogers, Kenny Rogers, or Arby's that originated in the south or midwest, don't seem to make it here in NY.

This area of Shirley is known as Crack Alley by the Suffolk Polce. They let the crack heads kill each other in the hood Shirley.

I heard some guy from Chicago was caught blowing a gay from Bellmore in the parking lot. They were headed for the beach but got scared when they got off sunrise and saw a black person.

So I've read all the reviews posted on here and I have to say I can't believe what I'm reading. You people really need to grow up or get thicker skin when you say that people only went to Roy Rogers to do drugs. Really? I never saw anybody doing drugs in Roy Rogers the restaurant or the parking lot, and I ordered food from here at night too. Unfortunately this place is no longer operating and it's been turned into a vacant lot, so I don't see how that's a better option to have. It's funny that you people mention how many drug dealings went on here when Roy Rogers was here. Do you really think that there's not going to be drug dealers and gangbangers loitering around the area now that it's vacant? Think about it where do drug dealers and gangbangers operate in the Holiday Inn? No they do their transactions in abandoned areas is where they go. At least when it was a Roy Rogers I remember it as the best fast food place ever, I wish you other people would remember it that way. And to the person who thinks there should be a Starbucks there now: Are you kidding me? Aren't there enough of those on LI already? If you want coffee you could go to McDonald's and get coffee there. McDonalds is cheaper than Starbucks and the coffee there is very good from what I hear. If anything they should just put a diner here, at least it'll be more family oriented and not attract the rough crowd you people are so easily intimidated by.
