<quoted text>Well, you just don't check things out before you post. In 2011, legal fees were $6,911. And 2012 they were $ 7,348. Not monumental when compared to prior years. The MBPOA spent or lost over $350,000 since 2005. They sold a piece of land to a Stanzoni associated realtor (Bob worked for Stanzoni at the time), for $125,000 and they also depleted the sacred Fire Island Fund....money that was NEVER supposed to be touched. All under the watchful eyes of Maura...candidate got trustee (a title she is unworthy to hold).
Yesterday I was Barbara and today I am "Nicole", you are wrong about everything.
Dirtbags in Mastic Beach....you even hate the town itself!
a bunch of old recycled crap. How could legal fees be 7000 dollars when the lawyer gets 50000 ? Bob is dead. Stop besmirching his reputation. And sandy damaged marinas which were expensive to fix. Especially when someone doesn't have free use of village equipment and staff. Bogus idiots like you are the real problem. If you like the no bid contracts and nepotism then you are in the minority. Around 10 people at meet the candidates clapped for f and b. Around 16 for b and g. There were maybe 70 people there. You do the math.

The legal fees I quoted are those of the MBPOA. Since the other poster opined that the cause of the MBPOA money woes was the village. I offered proof they have been losing money, under Maura's financial leadership for years before the village was even contemplated.

That leaves 42 undecided and 2 for M and B.

oh they're not 'undecided' any more after last night. heard a lady in front of me say all through the meeting that she was voting for Paul. she was a Paul's man through and through. after his 'spazz out", she whispered to her friend "guess I'm voting for Maura now".

I might be interested in voting for Maura if someone could show me that she is in the race for the right reason and that is to make the Village better. I just can't believe that is the reason. After all these years of hatred against the Village how now she can want to help it?

well, why don't you go and TALK to her? Don't take my word or Bradys who is clueless on why she is running. Go ask her YOURSELF! Wouldn't that be the best way to get the information you seek?
but I'm sure you have already made up your mind. If not, go ask her why.

i am so sad for you. you are woefully misinformed as usual. you choose to ignore the storm damage that was sustained costing probably close to 100,000.00 and counting. you choose to ignore the fact that there was a recession and that all businesses have lost money. you choose to ignore the fact that hundreds of people in this area were displaced by sandy and the last thing on their minds was boating or docking a boat. you choose to ignore the fact that maura is not the financial secretary or treasurer. you choose to ignore all of the harassment by village officials making it necessary for mbpoa to hire lawyers, simply to get electric turned on to marinas. you choose to ignore corruption and nepotism because it benefits you and your family. and you choose to give false information and quote fake numbers because you have no access to the real ones. try the truth for a change. the village has been giving out fines to residents and ignoring what is right in front of them. people are afraid to walk on neighborhood road. the garbage is piled in front of many homes and no fines are given. people are being targetted for tickets and fines while the friends of the village can do whatever they want and get away with it. a crane on your property? no problem if you are a friend of the village. building a huge dock on someone else's property? no problem if you are a friend of the village. doing home repairs without permits? no problem if you are a friend or a family member of the village. using village employees and equipment to fix your property? no problem for friends. that is the definition of cronyism and nepotism. get your head up out of the sand and wake up. mastic beach is turning into a hellhole and you are happy about it.

Don't believe all the Bull. Maura hates the village. The sad thing just can't get over the fact that she lost the fight against the village's formation. She' a bully mouth who hates losing. She wants to be elected and destroy the village from the inside. Funny, in September of 2013 she filed a notice of Claim against the village and was planning on suing them. Suddenly, she loves the village and wants only the best for it.

Bull. One director posted on Facebook that she had just finished writing a petition for dissolution and another was overheard saying they were going to destroy the village.
Bruce was quoted in today's LI Advance saying that he wanted the properties to remain in MBPOA hands and that the lawsuit should be dropped. He and Maura DO NOT have the best interests of the village at heart. They want to destroy it.

And to the other person that says that Sandy is to blame for the conditions of the marinas - bunk. Those marinas have been falling apart for many years and they are to the point that they are unsafe to use. And Bruce thinks the marinas should remain in the hands of the POA - Yea Right. Lest we forget about the beaches, or lack there of. Another great job by the MBPOA.

One problem with your statement, the MBPOA actually turned an overall profit in 2010 and 2011. And, the losses sustained since 2005 were not recession related. You think everyone believes you. You should have had an overflow crowd last night, with torches and pitchforks to kill the monster.

You and a handful of followers hope to win the election. Good luck! If your team wins, they will finally find out what real work looks like. They will experience the joy of being called every name in the book, by you! You will call them traitors, liars, turn coats and accuse them of going to the dark side when they tell you the village is doing a good job.

I would strongly disagree with your hellhole description. If it was so bad, people would be protesting. Where are they?

Here's the funny one. The Issues FB had a poll on their page asking people to vote for their candidates. It took a couple of weeks to get to 55 votes and all M&B could muster was 35, and that was after the endorsement by that extremely biased page. It looked SOOOOO bad they took the poll off the page. Also, look at the New Horror FB page. Oh sorry, I guess that may be Horizons, depending on your point of view. After 3 or 4 months of campaigning, all the two anti-village whiners can muster is 116 likes.

Don't you worry RB, I got your back.

i believe it was the mbpoa that filed the notice of claim. not maura. it wasn't personal. you seem to think that everyone is as small minded as yourself. if someone wrote the petition, then where is it? I could say on facebook that I saw the Easter Bunny and I wrote the declaration of independence. it doesn't mean that it's true. Now you are a dockmaster? you are an expert on marinas, you are an expert. It does not matter if bruce thinks the marinas should remain in mbpoa's hands. it is with the judge and he/she is the only person's opinion that counts now. I believe that if maura is elected, she would have to recuse herself from this subject anyway. you seem to think that maura and bruce have lots and lots of power to destroy the village. after all, when they get elected, there will still be 3 other people that have voting power. what are you afraid of? I know....you are afraid that your cushy job/patronage position would be A: eliminated or B: brought out into the light.

sounding desperate
running scared
making false accusations.

if you notice, i am sticking to the topic and the issues. i have not personally condemned any of the trustees past or present. i have condemned their lack of transparency and secret agendas. the trustees are not the only ones to blame for this mess, we the people are also responsible because we let it happen. please stop with the personal attacks, because i am sure that there are things to attack in each candidate. it's funny really, you are all so scared of maura that you constantly bash her. it's a compliment; just as gail and bob saying maura and bruces name 35 times in their closing statement is a compliment.

it is basic debate technique, you don't mention your opponents name loudlyl over and over

i must say that smart people don't vote in polls. they make sure that their people don't vote in polls. i didn't vote and neither did most of m and b's supporters. it is a stupid poll anyway because you could theoretically vote over and over if you erase your cookies.(that's why we didn't vote in the poll)

(reporting from my top secret location) You must be very wise to be speaking for all smart people. I suppose it is possible that you would know MOST of her supporters didn't take the poll. I'm sure they resisted temptation to see how popular they might be with people who are biased against everyone else. NOPE-they voted multiple times and all they managed to do was get about 50 votes.

I also think the title to this thread is disgusting.

Thanks to my friends. I saw the Ghost of Mastic Beach email was "denounced" by them. But seriously, all it mentioned was do not vote for any of the people who founded the village...that exclusion leaves few people remaining. Did you see that one of their constituents requested an absentee ballot and complained that the village went to extra expense to overnight it to her (she could have picked it up because she was home when it was delivered Sat morn). But the funny part was on the following Monday, she asked who won the election (she didn't know the election was not yet held).

Was at the debates the other night. Paul was accused of not being here during Irene.. IT IS TRUE HIS DAUGHTER GOT MARRIED. But it was a 1 day wedding not a 2 week affair. He did come back 1 day to check his castle but returned to PA. He had a responsibility to the residents of the Village. Thank Goodness for Gary, Bill, Kenny and Bob and all the volunteers that stepped up to get the Village roads cleared.

The man is not in his right mind He was being poked by Frank as in the first debate again and being told what to say.; The 2 of them make a great pair . Paul's campaign song should be I'M YOUR PUPPET"

yes. We know. You've brought it up 4 times already. Now that I'm acknowledging you, can you let it go? How do you know that poster was voting for Bruce and Maura anyways? Wouldn't it be funny if they were voting for Gail and Bob but because of you, they changed their minds? I would, you seem like a total a hole with all your posts.
So I change my mind and I'm AM NOW voting for Maura and Bruce because you aren't.

I never brought up the ghost of Mastic Beach email. It was a pretty clear message that anyone with anything to do with the formation of or who is in office should be not voted for. Nice try changing your vote. You are fooling nobody.

saw it. it was against the founders. It said nothing about the sitting trustees. I think it is from a Bob and Gail Supporter. It seems just like the defensive mood of Bob and Gail at the debate.

You don't think Gail and Bob were founders? I think they were and I am glad every founder chose to help in whatever capacity they did. It was an obvious slam of anyone who participated in the village formation. It only leaves Bruce and Maura who actively fought every step of the village incorporation process.

Do NOT vote for Maura or Bruce.
