Hey Maura and Bruce - your LIES about the Village finances are proven to be another BS lie (see this note from todays Newsday)- you will see Mastic Beach is not on that list. In fact the auditor praised the village.

"Seven of the 15 most fiscally stressed villages in the state are on Long Island, state Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli said Friday. Amityville, Manorhaven and Bayville were among the four villages in the state to receive the "significant fiscal stress" warning label.

Old Brookville and West Hampton Dunes were listed as having "moderate" stress, and Brightwaters and Garden City were "susceptible" to fiscal stress. Some village leaders said the listed stress levels failed to reflect the impact of super storm Sandy, but DiNapoli acknowledged Sandy played a negative role in some villages' finances." -----Congratulations Mastic Beach Village, job well done - again.

Soooo clueless! Just an article of things soon to come to our little village. And how will the problems get fixed in these troubled villages? Raised taxes.

Newest Lie from the MBPOA - Maura says that all MB residents are welcome on MBPOA waterfront inspire of the MEMBERS ONLY" signs - then announces, at their last MBPOA public meeting in front of The SCPD Commander and Senator Zeldin's aid, that “the Village should have been arrested for standing on "MBPOA Private property" for a press conference”. Really?– talking out of both sides of your mouth would be a compliment. They are so desperate - and so stupid I can not see how anyone could support them

What are you talking about - you obviously have no clue or just lie to scare people - the Village has an A1 credit rating, just finished a total independent audit an came out with flying colors...
get the facts or shut up.

We do not live in those villages - we live in fiscally sound one that has not raised taxes EVER and has done a lot within their budget.

Who are you kidding, the village can not even keep the minutes of the meetings updated in a timely manner on the website we the taxpayers pay for in this budget.

The MBPOA is delusional--they do not own anything. They did not purchase anything, they are stewards of things which means they are watching and taking care of it but they do not own it!!!

Which candidates will support reaching an out of court settlement so Mastic Beach can rebuild the marinas with the millions of dollars residents will lose come the April 2014 deadline?
If the case doesn't get settled before April, we lose 4 million federal grant dollars.
Time to put the community first.
Whichever candidates come up with a successful plan will have my vote.
Every house in Mastic Beach goes up in value when the marinas get rebuilt with federal money.
Stop being stupid.
Or maybe I'm asking too much?

Hey, if Maura and bruce get elected, we can be just like Bayville!...LOL. I have no doubt that if they get elected they will try everything in their power to destroy the village . They have been vehemently anti-village from the beginning, why would they change now ?

I did not post this stupid comment. We all know the MBPOA does NOT own the property. I know they think they do but unless they show proof that the actually paid money and purchased the land, they do not own it. They are the Stewards of the land, which means they are caretakers of the land that they do not own.

A wonderful idea - really - The village has tried BUT the MBPOA has repeatedly shown no inclination to discuss anything - they often say they are will but what they are really saying that they will agree if they get to keep all their money sources, something that simply is unfair to the rest of out=r village. This is not about their fear of development, or about what is right to wrong for the entire community. In the mind of the MBPOA - it is solely about the MBPOA wanting the community subsidize their private operation. It was clearly the intention of the original MBPOA founders that the land would transfer to the Village; they understood that that was the only way to honestly serve ALL the residents not just a small private club. The MBPOA has proven to be totally unable to maintain the marinas or the waterfront - their membership has shrunk to all time lows and has aged. I honestly believe this is the only reason for some candidates to run for office - to cater to the will of the shrinking MBPOA membership and ignore the rest of our communities needs. If the MBPOA does retain the property it would truly be a sad and major loss for all the residents of Mastic Beach Village...they have already damaged the village moral and delayed the overall rebirth that could be happening.

You are absolutely correct that the MBPOA has turned the marina into a cash cow for them for all these years. I don't know how the DA and other authorities have allowed a private organization ot profit for their own benefit on property that clearly does NOT belong to them. Instead they are caretakers and I don't know situations where caretakers can profit from something they do not own. They have excluded the public at large from using "their": property and it is solely for the use of the members of the MBPOA, which I doubt very much was the intent of the deed allowing them to be stewards of the property. How have they gotten away with this for so many years?

ummm, yeah. That's what they keep saying. The village supporters are the one who keep bringing it up.
The MBPOA are stewards of the waterfront.
The village wants to take the waterfront so they can sell portions of it develop it for the tax revenue.
