You have got to realize the MBPOA is going down the tubes. Broke. Out of funds. Anyone who sent in their membership should stop payment on the check. You have no respect. Nobody is naming you, yet you feel the need to unleash a barrage of insults. Payback should be expected.

Like Smartypaints I guss I have no respect for the so called Mayer and his board of henchmen. I see in the Advance that Brookhaven had been trying to dump buildings like the dilapidated nutrition center. Why did Biondi and his crew pay top dollar for the dump. They rewired the whole place. Was that because it was wired with aluminum wiring? We are total suckers. Go screw your self Brady.

I will not stoop to your level.

But, you again raised the point of why should MBV residents have to pay for a building that they already paid for with their taxes? Well, MBV residents did NOT pay for the building, ALL BROOKHAVEN TAXPAYERS paid for the building including its renovations and upkeep. So, when the property became available, the Town could have sold it to anybody. It could have been made into a Heroin Rehab, a gym operator, a day care center operator, or any other type of buyer who wanted to fork over the fair market value for the property.

Many older buildings get re-wired due to modern office requirements (computers, audio/video, and to provide necessary upgrades for the change in building use).

Anything the village does offends you and your friends in the MBPOA.

I hope any voter who reads these threads realizes there are people working hard to improve the area, and there are others who are trying to tear it down.

One thing I would look at is the demeanor of the posts. Calling people disgusting names, making unfounded accusations, and repeating the same arguments over and over are not to be trusted.

and we are part of Brookhaven. So there for, we DID pay for that building already with our taxes. Face it, the village made a poor decision. YOU can't handle that. I paid twice for that building. Once Gary's family messes it up, I'll pay a third time.

Bill Biondi was always stupid so are the rest of them on the board including MIA Gary. So what did you think would happen if you put them in charge of a friggin government. We would be better off with monkeys running the village.

Agreed! At least with monkeys the trustees could have someone to blame instead of constantly blaming the POA and TOB! And they could always find bananas. Of coarse, Gail and Bob would say that THEY found the bananas, but we would know the truth. The monkeys actually did it, not them.

To the Shirley poster who changes names more frequently than I can count...you are a coward who will impersonate anyone if you think it will get attention. Your last post was funny though because you are giving attention to candidates who you would die if they win.

Maybe if the money hungry MBPOA was actually a civic association and not a money grabbing bunch of idiots out to protect their "club" people who don't give a damn about anyone except their 25 members - MBPOA is the worst thing to happen to this community - 85 years ago their members cared - now they are simply out for themselves - All they do is spread hate and lies and do nothing for the community unless it serves their personal benefit and pocketbook...I can not wait for them to go totally bankrupt and fade away...they will not be missed.

Sometimes I can't believe how stupid people can be in their hopes of trashing the village - 500,000 residents in Brookhaven - we have 12,000 residents in Mastic Beach a tiny %- do the math - who paid for the nutrition center...THEY DID.

The village does not blame the MBPOA, in fact I have never heard them say a negative thing except to correct lies being spread by the MBPOA - The MBPOA has regular people in the group but for some reason that I can not understand they allow themselves to be bullied and controlled by self-center haters that have totally destroyed the MBPOA. To find who to blame just look at your leaders. is just the opposite - theMBPOA is an empty group of idiots who blame the village for everything - real or imagined - wise up.

In the ongoing saga of following the money drain...where did the Fire Island Fund held by the MBPOA go? The fund was proceeds of their sale of Fire Island Beach land to Suffolk County.

Well, in 2004 the fund held $68,190.13. By 2005 it ballooned to $70,208.45. And, thanks to compound interest, by end of 2006 it reached $71,645.15.

Then, a funny thing happened. The business (I don't call them a Civic), was running operating losses. Even before 2007, they had losses of ($14,052) in 2004,($40,145) in 2005, and a gain of $117,289 in 2006. A gain you say.... Well, not really, the gain resulted from the sale of a different lot to a Stanzoni connected realtor. The sale was a vacant lot which was supposed to be used for mbpoa parking lot, but the sold it for $125,000. So, without that sale, the loss for 2006 would have been ($7,711).

Now for the smoke and mirrors. Where did the Fire island Fund go. As of 2007 the money was no longer segregated. By co-mingling it with the operating account, they made the funds available to cover mounting losses that kept getting worse. So bad, in fact, that in 2007, the loss for the year was ($81,883).

Every member of the MBPOA should ask for their money back.

And just think...if the stewards of the wetlands had not sold the Fire Island beach land, we would actually have an Ocean beach.

pure bull.
Sent my money in to them and already have my slip reserved at the MBPOA BoB DeBona memorial marina for this year! Can't wait! it's the only place on LI where anyone can still get a slip for a decent price. I guess you would rather have them charge as much as everyone else on LI? I'm sure they could make a ton more money if they did that, like the village would, but they are just better than that. Affordable slips to working class families.thank You POA for NOT being like the village.

The poster was talking about the Fire Island Fund. This fund was supposed to be kept separate and perpetually for the benefit of the organization. Now, the fund is gone, after years of mounting losses. That was member's money. And, if you read my answer to another poster, you will see the village can save money because it is exempt from real estate taxes.
