Now watch Sheila try and serve up someone else to get herself a reduced sentence...if I were any of her "friends" who either actually happened to be in the car that night OR who simply don't have a verifiable alibi for where they were, I would be mighty scared right about now.

I hope the DA doesn't deal on Eddy's prosecution. From what I know of her, she was likely the mastermind in this crime--and she deserves nothing less than a first degree murder charge and the life without parole sentence that comes along with it.

It's too bad all of this will really do nothing for Skylar's family. Everything that happened after her murder is essentially meaningless. Certainly, some measure of justice from her killer(s) being brought to justice, along with the modicum of closure they have since her physical remains were recovered...but overall, no rest and no peace.

I agree Sheila was the one that planned it I think and hope she gets charged with first degree

since rachel shoaf fessed up i assume she will get reduced to a juvenile sentencing, probably get out of jail in 5 years because she comes from, what seems to be, a pretty decent family.

Shiela went as far as to go door-to-door with Skylar's parents asking neighborhoods if they'd seen or heard anything about sklyar.

She lied to the FBI. She kidnapped a person, and murdered.

This is 1st degree all the way...

also we would have to assume the FBI investigated their vehicle (the one shoaf/shiela were "hanging out" with skylar in that night) and the FBI did not find ANYTHING linking the car to a murder ie no blood, or anything similar.

What i would conclude from this is that the girls had a plan going into this night to be very careful and methodical with things would appear afterward.

Just my hunch. If they found the body 30 miles away from the scene, i would also conclude one or both of the girls pre-picked the spot to kill and leave the body.

Going back to Shoaf, at the end of the day it is a fact that she helped murder the girl, and hide the body, and lead authorites and skylar's parents on a wild goose chase for 6 months.

Just because she finally had enough and came clean, IMO shouldn't mean the FBI gives her a deal.

It should ONLY mean Rachel Shoaf can live on with SOMEWHAT of a clearer conscience for at least make a positive decision after committing a crime that really should keep her in confines for more than 20 years, period.

I'm against the death penalty yes, but i'm not against some form of life-long monitoring/punishment,

looks like for Shoaf it'll be 5 - 7 years then parole.

She'll probably change her name, move far away, and start a new life. Who knows....

but shiela eddy will be a different story, looking forward to the story unfolding from here

IF she makes it out of prison. There'll be many REAL badasses in there gunning for her. The suicide rate in jails is horribly high...

They will never be anything more than the useless pieces of trash they are now.

Rachel is a good person and would never do anything like this. If anything rachel's scarred that Sheila eddy might stab her as well if she tells on her for being fully responsible for the murder

I don't think anyone expected it sweetie but the truth is yes we all know shiela probably had more in this horrific murder but Rachel was there too and participated too, that makes her guilty also , and they will both be served for taking poor young skylars life for no reason !

Hey "Friend of Rachel" it obvious that Rachel is a good person. A real stand up citizen! She is a F/:)ING MURDERER! She brutally stabbed another human being to death. Hopefully Sheila Eddy does get the chance to kill Rachel then hopefully she kills herself and rids the earth of the two wastes of skin that they are. SCUM!

Rachel pleaded guilty to stabbing Skylar....shel pled out to take a lesser sentence. She will get (most likely) 20 years, serve 10. She had a major part in this crime, even if it was masterminded by Sheila. She pled out to get a lesser term....and to basically "rat out" Sheila. If she hadn't, there would have been a public trial and a lot more time in jail. She was lucky she got offered a deal. Sheila will get her time, a lot more than Rachel will, if her involvement was more....interesting that it was a 2nd degree charge, and not fist degree. Either way, nice, good hearted, sweet, from a good family, that doesn't mean anything. Rachel admitted that she stabbed Skylar to death. She played a major role in ths and deserves her time in jail for the senseless act.

Here is what is going on:

All the authorities had was Skylar's body and two people who saw her last. That was it. No murder weapon. No evidence tying anyone to her murder. Nothing. The ONLY THING that could tie those two to Skylar's death was somoene squealing.

Rachel was the one to focus on. She was the likely one to break. Eventually, the authorities were able to break her down and, with the help of a plea agreement, got her to come clean and tell of the other girl's involvement. I cannot mention her name as she is still in juvenile statuts, but you know who I am talking about.

Now, the other girl is the one they want. She is the one who will not get a plea deal. It is first degree all the way for her.

You ask why the plea for Rachel. Well, because (1) her involvement is less than the other girl. You will find out eventually.

Secondly, her testimony WAS ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL AND NEEDED to break this case. Pleas are discussed wit the victim's family beforehand. If you ask Skylar's parents if they would rather have Rachel behind bars for 20 years, and the other for life, vs. both of them never being charged and walking around free for life, guess which one they chose?

Don't think Rachel is getting off easily. The recommendation of 20 years is just that ... a rcommendation. The Plea Agreement says the prosecution will oppose that recommendation. As this crime is high publicity and especially henious, the judge may very well not accept that recommendation. The only thing that may sway him is Rachel's cooperation, albeit nearly a year later.

Life in prison will not be easy for her. She will still be labeled a child murderer, and they are on the bottom of the prison rung. She will come out a convicted murderer. At least half of her life will have been spent in prison. She won't come out hopping and skipping and unscarred. If she makes it out at all.

The other one is going for life. A jury can give her life with mercy, meaining she is ELIGIBLE for parole in 10 years. Murderers are not gratnted parole that easily. And that is considering the jury giving her mercy, which is unlikely. They may be swayed by her age. We shall see. But, she is going to be charged with first degree murder. She will be convicted. She will spend a very lengthy time behind bars. Where she belongs.

Someone just posted this on a different page and thought I would share. I don't get the paper but a friend of mine stated it was indeed in the paper.

UPDATE as of Friday, 5/3/13:

No additional charges will be filed in the death of Skylar according to the local Morgantown newspaper. The juvenile file has been sealed and no further information will be released. "We do not have any evidence to suggest any other involvement at this time" quoted by the prosecutor.

UGH!!!!!!! I don't like the sound of this!!!!

According to the local newspaper there, the prosecuting attorney stated, NO other charges will be filed in the Skylar Neese case. The other juvenile record will be sealed. SE will NOT be doing any time. That is a darn shame. SE drove the car, she should at least get kidnapping.

I don't think that means the second girl will get off, I think it means because she's a juvenile the details of her case are not made public. Anyone know for sure?

For those of you interested in reading today's article in the Dominion Post, I've posted it below:

Arrests final in Skvlar case
BY CASSIE SHANER
The Dominion Post

Records sealed on juvenile suspect in teen's murder

No additional charges are expected to be filed in the stabbing death of Skylar Neese, Monongalia County Prosecuting Attorney Marcia Ashdown said Thursday.

UPDATE
"We do not have any evidence to suggest any other involvement at this time," Ashdown said. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of West Virginia also said there was no new information for release
Thursday.

Rachel Shoaf, 16, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Wednesday in Monongalia County Circuit Court, after agreeing to transfer her case to adult status. Court documents said Shoaf stabbed Neese, causing fatal injuries, on July 6. A second juvenile was taken into custody Wednesday. Her case remains confidential, because juvenile records "are not public records and shall not be disclosed to anyone unless disclosure is otherwise authorized," according to state code. Ashdown and others, including the Neese family, have indicated the other teenager is female.

According to state code: Juvenile cases can be transferred to adult status if a teenager 14 years or older "makes a demand on the record" to do so. The court can transfer a juvenile case to adult status if, among other things, there's "probable cause" to believe a juvenile at least 14 years old has committed murder. "The burden is upon the state to establish the grounds by clear and convincing evidence" for any transfer requested by the prosecuting attorney, according to state code.

Shoaf's plea agreement said the state will recommend a sentence of 20 years of incarceration. Her attorneys John Angotti and David Straface - will recommend she be sentenced as a juvenile or receive an alternative sentence, according to the plea agreement. Angotti declined to comment Thursday. Speaking generally, Ashdown said someone sentenced as a juvenile could be incarcerated until age 21. Convicted juveniles cannot be transferred to an adult facility until they turn 18, according to state code. Shoaf was taken from Wednesday's hearing to a juvenile facility in Wheeling.

Hayden McClead, a friend of Skylar's, said the halls of University High School were buzzing with chatter about the arrests Wednesday.I was really upset," said McClead, a 17-year-old junior. "I didn't think someone that was her best friend would do that to her. I hope they get what they deserve." McClead said she had been friends with Skylar since elementary school. She knew Shoaf and the other girl she believes was arrested, because they were often around Skylar, but she wasn't close with them.
"I always thought Rachel was a good girl," McClead said. "She always talked about church and stuff. I would never think of her doing something like that."
Skylar was nice, liked to have fun and was always willing to listen, McClead said. "I miss having her to talk to," she said. "I miss working with her." Both girls worked at the Wendy's location on Venture Drive, though McClead left not long after Skylar's disappearance on the day she died.

Monongalia County Schools Superintendent Frank Devono said counselors were available to students at UHS and elsewhere Thursday who wanted to talk about Skylar's death and the arrests. Resources are available to staff through an employee assistance program.

If the other girl is not being charged, she would have been released. Meaning she would be back in school, on twitter, etc.

She isn't.

SE will still do time. All the paper today is saying is that no other people are being looked at it. It wont release any information on SE because of juvenile status so far. That does not mean it will stay juvenile status! and more than likely the other one will tried as an adult as well.
There were rumors that other people were involved and questioned mainly another male teenager and one adult who was rumored to have helped in disposal and cover up. Remember Skylar was found off Eddy Run Rd.
I think the paper is just trying to say no one else except the two in custody will be charged with anything.

I also don't understand how an entire town knows who the other one is but yet I and so many others continue to use SE.
