I would just like to make the observation that the law enforcement in Weston has noticeably improved in the short time that we have had new leaders of it. I think that with two new Magistrates, a new Sheriff, AND a new Prosecutor, the boys will start getting things done swiftly and correctly. Just last night, I noticed three cops with people pulled over going from one side of town to the other. It's nice that they are finally taking their job seriously!!

Did you notice all of those who were pulled over were teenage girls and cavity searches were involved?

Actually they weren't. Seeing as how I'm around that age I think I would have heard of it.

I am glad to see the bond rates have been higher since the beginning of the year. We need to keep the bad guys behind bars and not on the streets. I hope they keep it up, hopefully it stays that way.

I agree! Very appreciative of Officer Gissy and his posse patrolling the streets so well lately. And as a parent, I especially appreciate the patrols around the schools! Center Avenue needs to be patrolled a little better though. People fly on that street and rarely stop at the stop signs.

We need officers with experience. Not familial politics.

Adam Gissy is an experienced officer of law enforcement, it just so happens that his father was sheriff also. He was raised in law enforcement and worked in law enforcement. I did not vote for him due to a political or familial stand-point. Adam Gissy supporters voted for Adam Gissy due to his morals, his views and his love for his community, as well as his ambition and determination to make Lewis County a more safe place to live. He stands firm on the issues of drugs, domestic violence, and safety within our schools. He hired his mentor from Upshur County to be his Chief Deputy because he is experienced and upholds the same morals and values that we so need in this county.

I LOVE LEWIS COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT! I have been pulled over so many times but I've NEVER had to pay a ticket. A little flirting and some "lean and squeeze" works every time in LC.

Hahaha oh, I'm sure that's the truth. You idiot. You must deal with city cops, not Sheriff's Department. After all, city cops probably prefer trash like yourself.:)

That family does not drive drunk. Don't accuse Michael of something that he doesn't do.

Well apparently you don't know them that well. I've seen EVERYONE of the Gissy men leave the bars drunk and drive home. I like them, BUT how can they punish someone for breaking the law when they all do it too.

I agree with the Family Politics, we have the Smith's one being a delegate, and the other the prosecutor, then there is the Gissy's. However, I did NOT vote for Mike, he is a nice guy, but right about the drinking, and his bitchy wife is just as bad, along with their son Matt. Adam however is NOTHING like his family, yes he likes to have drinks occasionally, but I know he NEVER drives, always has a DD. He takes his job to heart and only has the best interest in Lewis County, I applaud all of the hard efforts of all the deputies....We got one worthless political official out of office, just wish we could of gotten the other out

All of his families drinking issues aside, he (Adam) doesn't have the proper experience to be a Sheriff. If I am going to hire a principal etc. I'm not going to hire someone just because of intentions. We need someone with experience and good intentions.

He was voted in the same reason Obama was.... Youngsters think its the cool and different thing to do. We are doomed.

maybe, we shall see if he does well, he would be better off if his wife wasn't such a bitch, thinks she is better than everyone

I believe that you have been misinformed. Adam has been a police officer in Upshur County for several years, and a DOT officer for a few years. Although he is young, he is beyond his years in experience. He genuinely wants to be a good and just sheriff. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I expect that you are concerned due to your obvious lack of information pertaining to Adam and his experience, as well as his moral character. He is enveloped in his career. I voted for him because I was educated on his politics, as I was for all the candidates in this election.
