I think we need a better way to communicate news. I'm mainly concerned about criminal activity in Morgantown. Places like New Holland actually post a police log. We are paying for full time police service in Caernarvon Twp., why don't we have a police log? I think our police officers are doing a wonderful job. If you don't think so, buy a police scanner and take a listen. People are getting themselves arrested all the time. The problem is, we don't get information regarding most of the crimes occuring in our area, and if we do, it's printed days later in the Tri-County. I could deal with the delay in getting information out via the Tri-County, my problem is the lack of information we're receiving. If my neighbor or someone in my area gets their property burglarized or something similar, I want to hear about it so I can take the proper precautions. We only ever hear of the major cases. I think we deserve better.

Last week someone was selling guns out of the back of their car in the McDonalds parking lot. The ATF was called. Maybe I missed that story in the Tri-County. I've been scanning for years. Its the best way to get the local news. Especially with the crazies that come in off the tpk.

Tricounty is very careful what they publish....lot of "goody goody" news and not much real news. They don't want people to think negatively of the area. And some of the towns surrounding Morgantown are controlled by families that definitely don't want negative news because they think it affects the value of the real estate in the area.
They don't understand to know these things is to be protected. And we need better police protection which we are not getting and again towns say we're fine we don't need the coverage...again not facing reality!

I have always been annoyed at how little Tri-County reports. We live in Elverson and I know of several local arrests that have not been reported on locally. These include a child molestation, a case of multiple break-ins, gang activity, and multiple property damage cases. I think we deserve to know who is living in our community. Turns out, I live right near the multiple theft arrestee and the gangsta wannabe that shot into a crowd. I had to find all of this out on the street. It would be nice if juornalist actually reported news. These issues directly affect our community nad should not be swept under a rug just to protect some developers and "the family" in Elverson.

I am curious about how the Tri-County does gets its information. Considering it is a free newspaper I think they do a decent job covering local events and the usual fluff stories. But they do fall way short in regards to reporting on crime. Caernavon twp. has its own dedicated police force. Chief S. why don't we had a police blotter? And I love reading comments about "the family" in Elverson. It's so Mafioso...

Several months back I saw a straggly looking dreg being held at gunpoint by police right near Twin Valley Elementary. He was butt naked with his little dingleberry hanging out. Just this past weekend, I watched a black guy being thrown across the hood of a state police car with both lanes of traffic blocked. We definitely have some winners around here and it's a shame we can't read more of their escapades.

Just curious as to why you felt the need to tell us the one fella was black? You judged the first fella on the way he presented himself. Now, am I to assume that among all the other folks that you are contemptuous of, that we can now add blacks among'em. My friend, you remind me of an ol' bitty I once knew, as ornery and disagreeable as as they come. This cantankerous ol' gal had it in for everyone,“guys with mullets and missing teeth”,“straggly dregs”,“inbred Stolzfuses”,“guys in black hats and suspenders”,“taxing scumbags” and “one horse towns.” Her words not mine! Didn't care much neither for Morgantown or Honeybrook, nor their cops, officials or town folk. But her heart grew blackest when she laid her spiteful eyes on “toothless wonders”, as she was fond of calling them. Well... one soft summer evening, while dinin' at a local bistro, a piece of steak lodged itself in her mean an' contentious old throat. Funny thing, she was enjoyin' the tender filet side, stickin' her husband with the tougher strip section, kinda ironic don't ya think? Well, little could be done, and as we all must do, this ill-tempered ol' bird departed this vibrant and shinnin' ball of life we call earth. No one knows for sure what happened next, but as the stories told 'round here, not since Daniel Webster faced off against that serpent of old, the devil himself, has there been such a titanic struggle between man and the supernatural. Why... they say that old battle ax put up such a monumental struggle, that heaven an' earth were shaken to their very foundation! Some even say this stubborn ol' goat, through shear will and pigheadedness, rammed her way right past the Almighty Himself and right on in to eternal livin'. I for one don't cotton to such gossip an' ol' wives tales, but I do think there is a valuable lesson to be learned here. let your husband have the “tender side” once in a while, it is good for the character to be kinder to others than to oneself. Thank you for your time.

You are truly a strange individual, but your postings are entertaining. I love the way you villify me. Based on your writing style I would venture that you were educated in the University of Pennsyltucky and rode to school on a horse and buggy. I can't believe I actually have to come in here and add to the ugly hatred found on this page, but I feel it must be said. This person does not represent Morgantown and they certainly do not represent the great Eagles organization! Any one that would take on the Eagles name and then espouse such racist views needs to have their head examined. They tell us the first person was “a straggly looking dreg”,“butt naked with his little dingleberry hanging out.” The other, only the color of his skin. It is a sad day for this small town and a sad day for our beloved Eagles.

I call it like I see it. It's funny that you call me a racist for identifying a criminal's race when you've been living among the Aryan Nation for many years. Are you unaware that the Morgantown area is largely populated with bigots? Did you know that a Klan leader was given an entire hour (in full regalia) on Berks County Community TV as recently as the mid 90s? Now that's truly unthinkable and despicable! You've stated it correctly...I don't represent Morgantown or the Eagles. bridge2nowhere wrote: <quoted text> I can't believe I actually have to come in here and add to the ugly hatred found on this page, but I feel it must be said. Eagles Fan Now this black guy is a criminal? Ever hear of innocent until proven guilty? If most people out here are bigots, why wouldn't the cops be as well? All over this country cops harass black professors, doctors and businessmen through racial profiling, all kind of civil lawsuits have been won on their behalf. When innocent people are harassed for no reason, things can get contentious. Know what happens when you get contentious with cops? They throw you over the hood of their cruiser and cuff you.

I noticed several people have commented on "the family" that controls Elverson and their interest in keeping certain information quiet. Like Dancin Doug I too live near the low lifes he described in his comments. "Beautiful Historic Elverson" I also had to find the information on the streets. The more serious story is the way "the family" has taken control of the Borough and it's council. Citizens should be asking if what they are doing is ethical and legal.

What happened to the “puppy mills” thread? As a frequent reader and blogger on Topix I would like to commend lovalldogs for the incredible amount of effort and research she put into that thread. Unfortunately a wealth of knowledge and hard work is gone, numerous articles and web sites, whether one was interested in the humane treatment of dogs or just wanted some guidelines to purchase one. The nicknames “lovaldgs” and “biker chick”, one and the same, are two of the most well respected and venerable names on these boards. If all was lost, I am truly sorry.

You whack, Jack! Why you gotta go hatin' on black folk, now we're “winners” and “criminals.” You told us the Klan was everywhere in Morgantown an we can't find them nowhere, just your racist comments Jack. The real deal is every body out here has been nice as pie! Our car broke down in Morgantown an some big scary redneck with a mullet pulled up in a pick-up truck, and we thought “here's that Klan guy Jack warned us about”, but he was actually real friendly, he offered us a ride to the service center, even let us use his AAA card so we didn't have to pay towing! What a kind and concerned man he turned out to be. Then he dropped us off at an Amish family he knew. The kids got to go on a buggy ride, they made us dinner, gave us fresh cheese and homemade baked goods, Tyrone always wanted to try one of them shoo fly pies, it was almost like one of them Pa. Dutch vacations. Only racist we can find is you Jack. Very sad, very, very sad.
P.S. We like it out here so much that we just bought a house in Morgantown, right next to yours Jack. Sure hope those “property values” go up real soon.

Don't hide behind your false identity. You're all a bunch of crackers on this forum. If it makes you feel like an open minded and worldly to assert that I'm a racist because I identified skin color, enjoy it. You people are sheltered. I spent many of my years with black friends in black neighborhoods...places corn fed innocent little country folks like you would be eaten alive. You people have no clue what real life is about. Keerp living in your dream world. Jasmine n Tyrone wrote: “I watched a black guy being thrown across the hood of a state police car with both lanes of traffic blocked.
