Ms Jasmine,

"From the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire, let freedom ring. From the mighty mountains of New York, let freedom ring. From the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania, let freedom ring. But not only that: Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi."
-- Martin Luther King, Jr.

Greetings and salutations to you on this fine Fourth of July day! I think Mr. King was talkin' about another kind of freedom and independence, but I thought this small quote from his "I Have a Dream" speech, Aug. 28, 1963, was fitting for today.

Lawdy mercy, I'm tellin' you what Ms. Jasmine, I ain't never heard nor seen me such a rigmarole as I did last night. Why you would have thought Armageddon had finally come. They would be a big loud booming noise, and then the whole sky would light up all colorful like. Then, just about that time, you would hear an almost ethereal and ghostly chorus of "Oh!...Ahhhh" as little balls and strings of colored fire slowly drifted and floated down toward earth. It was a mighty fearsome thing to behold. Why it would make a body think the haints of 'ell was descending upon them. Now, no matter what you might think, I hadn't drunk me nothing but good ole' crystal clear water leading up to this miraculous event. No ma'am, I hadn't had me nary bit of that there fire water and I seen all these thangs. I don't know what is goin' on Jasmine, but we're just gonna have to try our best to hold up and be brave!

Ms. Jasmine, you are too kind. I can only sit here and shake my head in flabbergasted confoundment at your kind-hearted praise of my feeble attempt to converse in this nonlinguistic mode of conversating. Many thanks for your kind words. I must say Jasmine, you have a special gift of being able to create some very strong characters with your writing skills. For example, even though I am unable to hear your voice, or see your face and mannerisms, your writing evokes a certain presence. It is like talking comfortably with an old and dear friend.

Best regards,

Ms. Le Fay

Glad to hear you enjoyed your holiday, mine wasn't so hot, or should I say too hot! I think I might be moving farther north. Nothing was lost on your quote by Dr. King, like King, like most southerns you have the ability to compliment others while showing humility and grace. Something us “superior” northerners do not seem possess. An 'tween us kindreds, I'm as guilty as 'da next!

So I am warning you as a friend, if you ever come to a Titans/Eagles game, make sure you don't sit in the visitors section,“Eagles Fan” and I will be there firing snowballs at all the “bumpkins”, it can get colder than hell here in Philly. It will not be like a trip to the Liberty Bell or to Amish country.

Morgan le Fay included this poem in one of her posts, it is worthy of a post of it's own.

Eye halve a spelling chequer
It came with my pea sea
It plainly marques four my revue
Miss steaks eye kin knot sea.

Eye strike a key and type a word
And weight four it two say
Weather eye am wrong oar write
It shows me strait a weigh.

As soon as a mist ache is maid
It nose bee fore two long
And eye can put the error rite
Its rarely ever wrong.

Eye have run this poem threw it

Its letter perfect in it's weigh

Mr. Nowhere Man,

I heard about all them record breaking, swelteringly hot temperatures you folks were havin'. I said poor Mr. Bridge, he must be a burnin' up, up there in that Pennsyltucky place! Yep, shore enuff, that's what I said.

My goodness, it seems football season is just around the corner. Although I'm not a huge football fan, I certainly am looking forward to some crisp, cool autumn days and being able to do more things outdoors without the heat stroke being involved.

Now why is it Mr Bridge, for some reason I'm thinking if you and "Eagles Fan" was to be at one of those games, nobody would be watching the game, but all eyes would be on you two instead? LOL, if the conversation between you two would be anything like it is on this site, it would be much more entertaining than any football game!

Kind regards,
Morgan
