It was fine. Same food, waitress still didn't smile, and much cleaner. Price was higher than I was expecting to see.

My family and I ate there Wednesday night. It took us almost 2 hours to get our food, when we got it, it was cold and not to good. Still has the frozen taste and I asked the waitress was it REAL BBQ and she said no it came frozen. When I want BBQ I want the real stuff!! Kuntry kitchen will keep my business.

Well here is my opinion of the place...went there last night to check it out. It did look much cleaner, and I liked the new decor, but that was about it. The service was horrible. It was that older woman with the black hair and glasses. She was just snippy and kind of rude, rushed us thru ordering and she acted annoyed when I asked for something. Then she would forget it and I'd have to tell her twice to jog her memory that she was supposed to have brought it to us. My son ordered a Manhattan and he wanted a couple of sides with it, and when he was trying to look at the board she was standing in front of, he kept reeling from side to side to look around her to see what sides they had and she wouldn't even move for him so he could see better. It was pretty obvious that he was trying his best to look around her. She never brought our menus...I had to get up and go get them out of the slot myself. When we got our drinks, they were almost entirely ice with very little drink and they were ony filled 2/3 of the way at that. The woman never even once came by to see if we needed refills, I had to keep flagging her down. I ordered a hamburger steak with the works (onions, peppers...etc..on top). They served my son's dinner first and he was completely thru with his dinner before I even got mine. I had to sit there another 20min. with nothing while he ate. Then they brought my dinner, and the "hamburger steak" was just a hamburger patty and "the works" I asked for was literally like 5 or 6 little shrivled up pieces of half burnt onion. That was it. Lastly, my son ordered a piece of cheesecake. He asked if he could have chocolate added to it and that request seemed to confuse her, so I spoke up and said just put whipped cream on it. Well we sat and waited and waited, she came out to the dining area several times and never brought the cheesecake out. Finally, right before we left she finally came up and asked if we needed anything to which I replied, his cheesecake would be nice. She said oh I knew I forgot something and laughed, which was the first time I'd seen her smile since we'd been there. I kinda laughed too, trying to not make too big of a deal of it, and she said chocolate too, right? Well since she said it...I thought yeah put chocolate on it and I said yes PLUS whipped cream too. When she brought it...the chocolate she had just asked us about was not on it, only whipped cream lol. I don't know. It wasn't the worst restraunt experience I'd ever had but it certainly was not the best. It was a bit of a let down. I thought reopening week they would really be trying to do their best and make a good impression...at least try a little harder. And the new owner, I would have thought that since this was his new baby, he'd be more hands on in the kitchen trying to expidite and make sure things were done properly...maybe even come around and welcome customers to the new farm boy...but the whole time we were there, he just sat at a table talking to 2 other men. And I know he saw me having to get my own menus....he didn't make any attempt to come over and ask how things were or anything. I don't know if we'll be back. It's too bad really. I was excited about going to the new farmboy....it sure fell short of my expectations.

I had a similar situation when we went. Wasnt the new and improved place I had expected. We must have had the same server, bad attitude. I will say this. The fried food had a better taste to it than the old farm boy. The new owner must have changed the grease haha.

Perhaps you should share your concerns with the new owner Darrell Deweese instead of dogging it on this website. Darrell is trying to better our community. Let's support him.

Actually I do have one, and restaurant management used to be part of it. I helped manage a restaurant in Louisville for 6 years before moving back to Morgantown, so I happen to know a little about the subject. I was simply giving my account. It is okay for a little country place, but it did not measure up to the expectations I had hoped for. I didn't say it was horrible, but there is much room for improvement especially with the service. I thought this was a thread for opinions on the new Farmboy. My son is 8 and he even said the server was mean, and he did not want to come back. I will say I tasted of his dinner and it was a lot better than mine. The meat was pretty tender, so I will give them that. Perhaps I'd have more of a life if I commented on such deep topics on here like who has the biggest "you know what" in town or who is cheating on whom? Let me remind you that your life couldn't be much more exciting than mine or you wouldn't be spending time on a Topix site.

Amen FYI!! I had the same experience but my fish was absolutely horrible. It was too done and there was no meat in the fish it was simply crust and it had a horrible taste. I won't be back and I tried telling Darrell about my concerns and he simply blew my opinions off as if I didn't matter sO let's see how long he lasts with that attitude. I am a non smoker but will take my business to Kuntry Kitchen. They have some great home cooked food and friendly staff.

We ate there friday and the food was good. We had to wait for 2 hours to get it though. Everyone kept apologizing, they said they didn't realize how busy they were going to be and were understaffed.

We've been there twice since they opened and the food has been hot and delicious. I think once they work the kinks out it will be great. I've not been during the day but the kids serving at night are very friendly and really work hard. Don't be hateful to the young kids and not tip them it's the cooks that slow it all down.
I was there today
