It looks like the Republican Party is finally seeing what Jones is really like, there are talks happening outside the meetings discussing a replacement for Jones. I sat beside two ranking party members at breakfast that have already had meetings with others about Jones downfall. David Anderson has been approached, but has declined in hopes of a better candidate.

Why can't this Republican Party make a public announcement to the news that their faith in Jones is gone? Is it because they feel his Boss Fore will step in or do they feel crime will be on the rise? If crime is the concern it shouldn't be, what I understand is our Sheriff is never around as it is, given past events of shootings, murders, you name it he's not around so why should ousting be scary? The people would respect the party more if they just brought crap to the open to them and not another rug sweeping. Finding out coverups from Asheville, Raleigh news is a slap in the face to everyone paying a tax here. But too much of the rug sweep has gone on already I do not see this party saving anything without a DRASTIC MOVE like owning up to covering up everything paid out of court. Not just parties are disgusted but everyone is disgusted. Taxpayers are disgusted. Tell Jones to go and appoint any retired Fed in our area or Veteran of the Military who hasn't died in his care to step in. AnyTHING is better than what we have now. Can it be done? Yes. Example -Sheriff of SC recently ousted for abuse of power. Don't just talk about it, do something. If you want to continue earning a check from us dumb, poor, uneducated of the poorest county in the State, how about doing something to keep the cash cow flowing? Yeah, I will believe it when I see it from a newspaper source outside this Google Tax Free county.

There is no way Jones can keep a lid on all the scandals, lawsuits and trouble in his administration. Right now the sheriff is planning meetings, sending his flunkies out to mend fences and test the waters. What jones don't know is that his biggest supporter, old BlowJob BJ is already talking to someone about a job when jones loses.....lol, there is a vote of confidence for Jones. Way to go sheriff, you paid out your favors with promotions, retirements and gifts to idiots and they are the ones that have cost you the election...hope they hire you wherever they end up..........

Whomever he's talking to, they got a stack of text messages and emails to read that he wrote to several married ladies. A complaint was filed and Jones turned a blind eye when confronted about this idiot. Surely whomever El Fugly is trying to hit up has to be aware of what a liability he is and that this past complaint hasn't fully been dealt with by an attorney. Maybe its time? This idiot is like a used car salesman, low as they come. Its like a cowpile in the pasture, smells from all sides of the field. And no matter how hard he tries, you can't make cowpiles shine! Why is he above getting a real job? Jimmy Swaggart is hiring ScoreFore. Maybe he will "help you out" if you get my drift. Why can't this loser just go away? This idiot must think he is in the clear of what he has done. Yuppie ki yay, time to put someone in their place.

I was told it was like a couple dozen people, mostly officers family and they were even giving pancakes away free!!! Pretty sad turnout and hopefully sent a message to Jones that the end draws nigh. When the day come in this county that you cant even give food away for free then you have really done something wrong.

Public opinion has definitely taken a turn away from the current sheriff, strangely, I don't think they have even realized what created this turn of sentiment. For years the general public has ignored the problems existing at CCSD and it continued as business as usual, but one huge miscalculation on the part of Jones effected a large portion of voters and supporters causing many to begin discussing the overall situation at the dept and now the ball is rolling as gossip travels fast in small towns. When I recently heard a strong ex-jones supporter say he would write-in Willard Blevins for sheriff before he would vote for Jones again, I knew jones campaign was in trouble. I wonder if they will ever figure where the breaking point was, I don't think they can reverse the damage at this point but I am curious if they ever figure out how they stepped on so many toes at one time drawing so much negative attention which in turn brought focus to issues once long forgotten by voters. Time will tell

Oh, I can tell you the exact turning point. I watched the change up close and personal believe me. Not taking anything away from Wilson but before his name was even heard the winds of change were already blowing hard. I have seen myself people with no prior interest in CCSD or politics suddenly saying we are getting a new sheriff. as you said most the voters had no clue of the problems plaguing the CCSD but the more they discussed their common shared issue and dislike of the sheriffs opinion the more the scandals and questionable decisions become public. Ironically, if you can go back a few months I posted exactly what was coming and now it is playing out exactly how I predicted it would. In a rush to please the churches and ultra conservatives jones made a bad call and then made it even worse by the way it was handled unequally and I even tried telling BJ it would backfire and now with many more people discussing the disappointment of Jones and the once unknown issues becoming more and more public, even the select few ultra conservatives and churches jones tried to please are now turning away from him because of all the other moral issues surfacing from the CCSD. The general public tends to overlook many issues but when they feel their personal rights are bring invaded and their personal opinions ignored and being told what they can or can not do based on the sheriffs personal opinion, they are going to have a heightened awareness of the dept and they are going to vote for changes in the CCSD. I agree Jones was put in a bad position but sometimes it pays to please the masses and not the select few when it comes to enforcing personal opinions.

Turning point was January 2011 when JONES got a Complaint on his fat ass Detective. Turned a blind eye on a person and that blind eye costs him. It will come out soon enough on Jones and his HEFFER BJ. SOON. Damage control JONES, remember January 2011???? It's come back to get you and I told you then fatty cost you. Was he worth it?????

Jones hasn't addressed or elaborated on this matter of 2011 with fattyfore? Hmmm. What scandals has he commented on that go on at this "dept"? We gotta give him credit though, it's near election time and he did muster up enough strength to pick up the phone and call the SBI on Deputy Day. Gosh darn it he's such an OVER ACHIEVER!

No multitudes??? Maybe the reason why no photos are on Facebook to rub in the glorious event. What did he expect to show up after what all he's covered up out there and made into a Captain. As for approaching the other guy to step in, his response speaks volumes. Declining to say there is someone else for the job? Sounds like a decent guy who should be Sheriff. Those above him out there shouldn't mistake his tolerance for passiveness, he does his job.

I ask this on a different post as well, but as I understand a majority of the few that attended were CCSD staff, I'm just curious how many county resources were used, if any, for Jones and staff to attend?? This could include use of county cars, time of those on duty, gas??? Just curious as I would assume the sheriff, command staff and off duty attendees used their private vehicles to attend but thought I would ask., just curious

Well if its anything like the ones in the past, the regular deputies were "highly encouraged" to be there but not payed. The command staff and detectives well that's another story... I am sure like in the past they will be getting some really good OT or comp time for events like this. I am pretty sure the jail canteen and food budget will foot the bill for all the food served at these functions over the next year just like last time, its all in how you shuffle the numbers.

I agree but at the same time, laughing that its all blowing up in their faces. BOOOOOOM ! I'll be so glad when I get to sit in the parking lot across from their office to video all of them packing up and leaving. The NewsLess Topic and WBTV will not cover the move, so it's up to the citizens to document the leave and post the videos. Just saying though, if it were me, seeing that noone showed for my pancake breakfast but butt kissing staff, knowing that 1 fat captain cost me my career as Sheriff, and that I had zero support from anyone -I sure wouldn't bother trying to run. When do people finally show some wisdom and cut their losses and just go? Oh Lord I get so tired of stupidity. Then again, I'm glad Jones showed just how far he'd stick his neck out for his new captain -it cost him his entire career and its no ones fault but his own. I'd hate to be Jones until election. Can't you imagine what it is like everywhere he goes? Everyone dreading the sight of him. Picture this -a group at the gym talking and he walks in "Hey Fellas" -then they dreadingly mutter out "oh...Hey Alan" -then scatter out of conversation distance. High School treatment all over again. Just saying it's got to be awkward for him. BUT at the same time -it's his own fault surrounding himself with the choices he has for staff and when to cover for them. Sad thing is, it didn't have to be this way but glad he showed his true colors. You gotta ask him in an exit interview - was your newly promoted captain worth your career????? Your newly promoted has already been talking behind your back trying to secure a job with someone else....he's not covering for you Jones like you did for him. But it's funny, Rev. Wilson knows now all about Jones and his Jan 2011 complaint.

As strong as jones resume is with experience and education, if I were him and saw how this election was already heading south, I would resign, avoid all the negative info/ embarrassment from coming out and avoid tarnishing my resume with a defeat. But that's just my opinion. As they say sometimes in life you gotta cut your losses and go..

One effect I have realized from the start of this election cycle is #1, it has began earlier and with more intensity than previous elections,#2, it will bring many forgotten issues back to the surface, focusing unwanted and unneeded attention to this county, which by the way was recently listed by wall st . com as the 5th worst place in the nation to reside,#3 it will basically create a fishbowl effect for the CCSD, with every action being magnified and examined, which makes it extremely hard for the dept to do it's job. Point is, hopefully both parties will avoid the negative attacks and once a clear leader begins to emerge, the other will concede prior to the May primary thus avoiding a further division of the republican party. Granted, this is not likely but in reality we will know well before the primary who the winner will be so why drag the party through a costly and non beneficial event as the outcome will already be predictable. May the best man win
