“And everyone should have access to health care.”

No criminal action will be taken in the February death of a Broughton Hospital patient who died of asphyxia after a staff member sat on his torso. The death of 27-year-old Anthony Lowery, a patient at the mental health hospital in Morganton, was one of the incidents that led the federal government to stop Medicaid and Medicare payments in August.

On Monday, the district attorney's office that serves Burke, Caldwell and Catawba counties said in a letter to the State Bureau of Investigation that it will not charge the staff member who restrained Lowery in the death. Read more

Keep on preaching Debbie, I do believe most everyone on here has figured out this could not have happened the way your brother told you it did, that just aint possible. Like Lisa said, thats how it happened in HIS MIND, not in real life.
I guess I will follow the posters advice that said to stop giving you the attention you are wanting so badly and you will seek it elsewhere.
I know and so does most of the people who has replied to you that this could not and did not happen the way he says it did. Now if you would only stop the drama and think in through, you could see that for yourself. But it appears that you have fallen into his delusions and are going to go right on believing this even though there is NO PHYSICAL WAY IT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. Dream on Debbie.I have fed your attention seeking behavior for the last time.

It is very much apparent to anyone with half sense that Debbie also has some issues since so many people has tried to tell her that this could not have happened the way she was told it did. But instead, she wants to believe the impossible. Stop replying to her and she will seek attenion elswhere and her drama will end on this
forum.

I havent been on this forum for quite some time and when I came back tonite, I was surprised to see this topic is still active. After spending quite some time reading the posts, I have to believe that the original poster is dealing with her own issues. Not sure if she is feeling guilty because of her daughter's mental illness or if there is other underlying problems with Debbie. It is sad that someone would continue to believe a story that has been proven impossible by so many people just because her brother told her that is how it happened. Many mentally ill people have delusions and it appears that is what Debbie's brother has and for the life of me, I can not understand why Debbie believes it. Unless Debbie herself also has some type of mental illness which appears to run in her family. Common sense indicates that this incident could not have happened as her brother stated. Debbie does show classic symptoms of attention seeking behavior and possible several other mental health issues. Trying to convince her that the story she has heard from her brother is NOT possible isn't going to change her mind. She believes it because he told her. Doesn't matter that is is not physically possible, HE TOLD HER THATS WHAT HAPPENED.
Again, I have to agree with others, Debbie is seeking attention, ANY attention she can get.

Adults that seek attention are frequently referred to as narcissist. Narcissistic behavior is considered a psychological disorder and may require medical intervention. Adults that seek attention may over exaggerate or produce false stories to gain attention.

Does this sound like any poster on this forum?

Persons diagnosed with a Narcissistic Personality Disorder are characterized by unwarranted feelings of self-importance. They have a sense of entitlement and demonstrate grandiosity in their beliefs and behavior. They have a strong need for admiration, but lack feelings of empathy for others. These qualities are usually defenses against a deep feeling of inferiority and of being unloved.[7]

"Narcissistic pathology assumes a wide range of clinical and functional forms. Clinically, these forms range from the arrogant, boastful individual who steals the spotlight to the shy, easily slighted person who avoids center stage".[2]Now how does this sound like me?Im not even talking about me on here,Its all been about my brother and my daughter, being in that hell hole Broughton hospital, mostly my brother, and the terrible abuse they put him threw there

Yes Debbie,I am sorry to say but yes, It does sound very much like you. People who have this illness do not believe they are effected by any mental illness but family and friends who are around them see it. Mentally ill people NEVER believe they have a problem.

Then you should know better then to misdiagnose someone.so I see other doctors do not know what they are talking about either, specially when it comes to mental health subjects.

Denial is another trait of the mentally ill. Debbie, you really do need to seek help with your illness. Your family and friends will not confront you about this problem. Your behavior can be managed with the proper medication.I am a board certified psychologist with 21 yrs of practice. I treat many patients with the same illness as you have daily with medications. These meds makes the patients life AND their families lives better. You are in denial as most mentally ill people are. I have not met one mentally ill person who believes they truly have a problem. They, as you do, believe every one else has a problem and they are the only NORMAL ones. After reading all these posts, it is apparent that several other posters has tried to assist you but you refuse help.So many people have told you that the story your brother told you can not possibly be true but you continue to post more and more about it. Please Debbie, seek the treatment you need. Your live is yours and there is no reason for you to deal with this alone. There is help out there for you if you will just admit you do need it.If not for yourself, do it for your family. Believe me, they will thank you for it.

ok You said that mentally ill, do not admit when they have a problem? That it self is not true.my brother has admitted he is mentally ill,so has my daughter,so are you the one one that is mentally ill and not admitting it?Or you pretending to be someone you are not?
