Wilkesboro Animal Hospital -and much cheaper than the vets here. I don't understand WHY the vets here are so expensive. You don't even need an appointment. Great people there too. I hope your little dog is ok.

Did you know that getting into vet school is more difficult than becoming a medical doctor?

Have you considered the most new vets have huge 100k+ student loans and don't make large salaries?

Think about all the staff to assist a vet and keep a business running, expensive medical equipment, drugs, building costs, insurance?

Vets do what they do because they love animals, not because they are looking to get rich. Quality care is expensive for all of these reasons.

Do not own a pet if you can't afford the proper care.

Hands down, I always use Caldwell Animal Hospital on Nu-Way Circle. Maybe not the cheapest but Dr Kimberly Bill always gives that feeling of care and compassion that truly shows. The front office staff there is great as well, always friendly. I have used other places in the past with mixed results and in one case was charged for treatment my dog did not receive, however it was corrected but I wonder if that was common practice there or accidental. Anyway, I switched to Dr Bill after that and never had any issues with any of our pets at her location and the entire place seems friendly and caring. My dogs are like my kids to me so I am very picky about where they go

I use Dr. Dan at Lenoir vet. He cares for the animals. I don't see anybody else there just him.

Hey I can pay I just don't want unnecessary tests or told they need surgery when they don't. I love my dog..She is older and I found one Vet that told me she needed surgery on her leg. We were going to the beach so I took her with the intentions that we would get it done 3 days later than scheduled..We returned home and she was fine. That has been two years ago. I understand the overhead they have. My question was nothing about money it was about caring for the animal. I do think that some Vets do test just for the money.

NEMO Is your little dog ok? I hope you tried Wilkes Animal Hospital. It's worth the trip -especially the money which is just a bonus because of the treatment and thoroughness of the Vet. Dr Stinson is so kind and is known to go "off the clock" to help farmers of that area with cattle at no charge. The do not make you wait but a couple of minutes while they fill your pet's meds too, also very reasonable. I support that office just to send a message here to this county that pet costs are more here than Hickory, Watauga and Burke counties. I did reasearch on it for Economics.

We like Lenoir Veterinary Hospital a lot. They listen to you and do what you ask.

Also, the Referral Hospital in Hickory just past the beer distributor on 321 is pretty good, but you need to be referred by your vet to go there.

We switched to Lenoir Vet after a bad experience with Lake Hickory Vet. We lost 2 dogs to cancer because Dr. Glander and her staff wouldn't do their damn jobs and take blood for testing. Instead they kept throwing pills at them for bronchitis, which they didn't have. Their coughs were caused by a tumor pressing against their lungs. We won't ever be back to Lake Hickory Vet.

Being "rude" is the last criteria I'd use to eliminate a vet, or even a doctor for myself. I want someone who can fix whatever's wrong, not someone to be my friend.

I don.t know about you Duh but being nice to people is a plus for anyone includeing Doctors, Maybe you and this rude Vet Tech just hate people. I can tell you at least 21 folks he got rid of crying to the boss maybe they have a love affair or you might be his sweetheart. Just ask anyone about Mr. or Miss. whatever Triplett about his rudeness. I can overlook him being gay but not hurting people with his manner.

This Quote came from one of the Vets at Caldwell Animial Hospital ok you poor folks on fixed income don,t need a animial. If you drop all that fancy overhead cost and have a reasoable price maybe they could afford a pet but old DVM R want the rich folks not the poor to keep his bank account full. Fact the place cost you more there are other DVM clinic that are down the earth and will work with you on cost.

Really? You'd prefer someone who smiles politely and asks about your family, over someone who will actually make your dog better? There are good vets and bad vets, but "being rude" is far from being the determining factor. I don't know about you, but I take pets to the vet because they need a vet, not because I hope to make friends.

I also use Dr. Kimberly Bill for my vet. I had a bad experience with the other vets office in Lenoir. One of the staff told me that Dr. Bill graduated very very high in her vet class.8476

The best and most affordable Vet I have found in the Caldwell / Catawba area is Dr. Kenneth Hill at 603 Highland Avenue SE. I have used Caldwell Animal Hospital, Lake Hickory Veterinary Hospital, as well as Lenoir Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Hill is a much better, more thorough, and caring vet. He is also much more affordable than the others mentioned. Actual price for visit is about 35 dollars. His office is staffed by him, his son and daughter in law, all very thorough Vets. The office is small and first come first serve. You aren't paying for all the fancy décor and televisions in the office. Think about that fancy waiting room; that is part of your bill. Like a good restaurant, the office is always busy with patients which is a testament to the quality of the Vets. They have brought my geriatric dog back from certain death and I am forever grateful. They will always have my business.
P.S. I used Caldwell Animal Hospital until I over heard (very publicly) the Vet denying a patient x-rays of a horse that passed away. It seemed as though the vet was trying to hide something. If someone pays for x-rays they should be able to get copies at their request.

I'm looking for a vet for my cousin. She owns a German Shepherd, but lately he hasn't been acting like himself. He's been eating less and less, he doesn't move that much, and when he does walk, his back haunches seem stiff. Does anyone know what could be wrong? http://www.aranahillsvet.com.au
