These was Wayne abele words, when he voted NO for olive garden to come to morganton. Did not want them here b/c it would hurt his restaurant. News flash -- your restaurant sucks anyway.

That would of been jobs for people around here, and taxes for the city. Don't you find it to be nothing but greed for some of these people who set on the city council - they got lots of money already, but they still want our tax dollars to pay them. Wayne Abele, DR. Hamer - who is 81.. Like he is really in the know for what is best for the city.

What a shame.

He should not be allowed a vote for the sake of conflict of interest. Every person involved in the leadership of Morganton needs to be booted out and started over.

Morganton would NOT support an OLIVE GARDEN. We couldn't even support the second Burger King. The income level and economics don't add up. Whether or not its MAYOR MEL's fault. This is a depressed area. Economically, Intellectually, and basically stupidity of the voters. They keep voting for the same. They will get the same stuff crammed down their throats. Or OUR throats. Mel and the entire city council needs to GO! Sorry SALLY! YOU NEED TO GO TOO!!!!!

Know what's going to be funny? When Abeles gets into their new location, The fighting will begin over parking spaces with the neigboring restaurants. I guess Abele will then change his saying to "Le Salsa not for Morganton.

Well after the meeting last night and the excessive tax hike the Mayor is not long for the office. He just needs to resign.

NOTHING IS FOR MORGANTON

After last Nights city council meeting. Its all about control and the money. Mostly MONEY! This town makes me SICK! 16,000 residents. We need 77 police cars? This ain't Charlotte. Or Asheville. Or Even Shelby. 77 Cars? Ridiculous.

that's y we need to get these people out of office, talk to your friends and let them know what is going on. enough is enough. these people are making morganton a joke and at the same time laughing at you b/c you put up with it. show them we wont and things will be better. They have money but yet they want YOUR tax money as well. i'm tired of having to drive all the way to hickory or ashville to have fun and something to do, b/c morganton wont let nothing come here. gas is to high. This is a place where you call home, make it a place where you are glad to call it home.

Abele is not a city councilman. He has nothing to do with city decisions... RIGHT,lol... They are all in bed together... One hand washes the other... If anyone thinks its so great here try to get a job... ANY job. THAT will bring you down to earth... Has anyone noticed the number of homes for sale on West Union Street? The second most affluent neighborhood in town?
