I am looking forward to joining the group. The Hickory area is in bad need of a secular voice.

I guess anybody can start a group for any reason these days. But we understand them just fine. We dont need to go to the group to know what its about.

My same thoughts about going to a church to worship the sky daddy.

Just wondering what good will a group with a secular voice will do for the community. We already have the numerous night clubs, strip clubs and if that's not enough, there's always the Obama administration.

what is wrong with everyone. I don't look down at anyone for believing in something. If you believe in God that's great. I happen to not believe but I would like to think he/she is there but the only proof anyone can come up with is the bible which is written by man/woman. Look at Scientology. That was written as a joke and look what happened. So just cause I choose not to believe don't judge me. I am a great guy and a family man. Paying all my bills and working hard to do it. Don't assume bad things will happen in this club just because you THINK bad things will happen just cause of the name. Church is a club just like any other club. Just hidden behind the name of religion. If GOD does exist and I not saying he doesn't then he/she is everywhere. RIGHT. So I don't have to go to church to pray to him. I can do it from my couch watching football or fishing, or taking the family for a car ride for the day into the mountains. There are no absolutes in life other then death.

If any of you guys don't know about global warming, you will experience it in the afterlife.

I think it is called "the freedom to assemble" from the First Ammendment to the Constitution. You have heard of that, haven't you? It's on page 1 of the Bill of Rights.

Once again, Thanks God for your judgement.

Now you want to uphold the constitution, just because you have the freedom to assemble, does not necessarilly mean that the assembly is good. Smarta##.

You have judged yourself. I don't know if you know about global warming or Hell. Your self admission has made yourself the one judging, not I. I merely made a statement. Conviction maybe?

If the assembly breaks any laws, then it is an unlawful assembly, and that is not protected by the First Amendment. Is there any reason you have to think that this group forming would be breaking laws, or it it because you merely disagree with their beliefs? Listen, I am against the beliefs of the KKK and the Neo Nazis, but they both have the right to "peacefully assemble" whether I agree with them or not. That is the First Amendment. Thanks for the last comment (Smarta##). I can tell the type of repressive individual you are just from that.

No, you seemed to be inferring that people who are secular humanists would be going to hell. That is what I believe you meant, like you are the judge and jury of their eternal destiny. I hate to break it to you, but you're not! If I am wrong, tell me exactly what you meant comparing global warming/hell/ and secular humanists?

Even if there is no " absolute proof", we do have many indications that the climate is changing and it needs to be acted on before it gets to a state of no return. I guess many people don't think that their children and grandchildren possibly living on a scourching planet is of any great concern. It will be our own folly if we do have a real problem and just let it go. We can then thank our skeptic right winger politicians for their great foresight.

So, because you don't agree with the group, it's bad? It's a BAD group? What a closed-minded bunch of fools. I hate living in the bible belt, more hypocrisy, bigotry and complete idiocy than I have ever heard of. Everyone is judging people to hell, I guess we'll have to save them a seat because judging someone is apparently only god's job, and is also a sin. But then again, I guess all you guys gotta do is toss a dollar in the offering plate, tell the ceiling you're sorry and all is forgiven, right?

We're glsd you hate living in the Bible belt. There's hope you will move, and we'll all be happy. I'm loving the way you can find fault in a Christian and accuse them of judging but you can call out someone for being a fool and it's ok. who would be the hypocrit?

Kindly refer back to Post #10 where you called me a "Smarta##" because I disagreed with you. Is that the role of a practicing Christian? The two don't really match up, do they?
