The worst moment for an Atheist: realizing that 70% of people in the world basically still believe in Santa and feel sorry for them because they don't a reward or the threat of punishment to behave in a civilized manner.

That really doesn’t make any sense to me.

Offensive, you mean like saying that teaching our children about Christ is bad parenting? I really wasn’t trying to upset you; as a matter of fact I tried my best no to.
I tell you what's offensive to me: HATE.

And, I call it when I see it. It sickens me.

First off, most parents of very young kids take their kids trick or treating earlier in the evening. Secondly I don't know of any kids who are actually out trick or treating at nine o clock, except the older ones who are trying to get the last bit in before they can't do it any more. And yeah he did compare Christmas to Halloween, so what? They're both holidays based on superstitious fiction, seems like an apt comparison to me.
I agree with this statement, and the other persons comment. It's no different from and other school night, with having dinner and baths, etc. It's called Time Management!! I say do it on Sunday!!

I have a 9 year old and a 5 year old. I see nothing wrong with trick or treating on Sunday which is the day of Halloween. Just like someone else said, we don't move it to Saturday when Halloween falls on a Monday, Tuesday, Wed., Thurs. or Friday. Why move it now? I will make something simple for supper Sunday and we will eat a little earlier than usual. Then we will go trick or treating, come home, get baths and go to bed. Its not going to hurt my kids to get in bed 20 or 30 minutes later than usual. And my bet is that it won't hurt yours either. Its not like doing supper just a little earlier on Sunday is a big deal. Not like your kids will be in school that day or anything.
