Everytime Halloween falls on a Sunday everyone is always confused on what day to trick or treat. This year lets decide early and make the county & city be the same night.

IF Halloween is on Sunday.... then Halloween should be celebrated on Sunday.

Hey let's all celebrate Christmas on the 24th this year.

Sunday.....don't use the school excuse b/c It doesnt change when its during a week day.

The ONLY reason this is an issue is because our COUNTY and the religious nut jobs think it is sacreligious to celebrate Halloween on Sunday....its really just for the kids and for them to have fun...lets leave it alone and celebrate on the day it falls.

Do you have kids? Just wondering.... what time do they usually go to bed on a night before school? Mine usually goes to bed around 9pm, now factor in eating supper taking shower and trick or treating for a couple of hours! Thats a busy night and the next morning the kid is usually worn out, so I think Saturday would be better...if anyone has kids especially young ones they will agree....and did someone actually compare Christmas to Halloween? What an idiot!

First off, most parents of very young kids take their kids trick or treating earlier in the evening. Secondly I don't know of any kids who are actually out trick or treating at nine o clock, except the older ones who are trying to get the last bit in before they can't do it any more. And yeah he did compare Christmas to Halloween, so what? They're both holidays based on superstitious fiction, seems like an apt comparison to me.

Most people don't start giving out candy until around 4 pm from my experiences so even after a couple of hours trick or treating you have to go home fix supper, have the kids get a bath, make sure they have all thier homework done and then theres still school the next morning!

The kids are usually tired the next day! Having in on a Sat.gives them time to rest and enjoy thier treats. You saying " both holidays based on superstitious fiction" make you a sick individule.

I can clearly see you have no kids and if you did I would feel very sorry for them having a heartless parent like you!

Looks like Saturday is winner on here, I could care either way but Saturday does make more sense to me. I have a very young child and a 10yr. old it makes it easier going on a weeknight when there is no school the next morning, my 10yr. likes to stay up late after trick or treating and we watch horror movies all night.

They ARE based on superstitions. They're both pagan holidays. And both holidays, historically, are very interconnected.

I'm not trying to be mean here, it's just true. NOW... halloween is about costumes, candy and horror movies. And likewise, Christmas... NOW... is about presents, food, family, and lights.

Just saying. There is nothing religious about any of these holidays anymore, and the people who attach religious connotations to them are kidding themselves. It's all about consumption.

Christmas is code for Winter Solstice just like Easter is code for the Spring Equinox. The Christian religion is code for Pagan Sun worship.

You're not trying to be mean... you just show your ignorance and intolerance. Cool.

How in the hell did this all get turned into a discussion about religion? It's just Halloween and what night "parents" think it should be on being a parent myself I can see why many would want to do it on Saturday...so why turn it into something else? It's amazing that someone can't ask a simple question about what day people would want to take thier kids trick or treating on and get so many ignorant people posting about Christians and religion...you people make me sick!

All I am saying is that just like Halloween...Easter and Christmas are also pagan in origin. What better place to point that out than a thread entitled "Halloween"?
