It's a Sheriffs decision....depending what county in this state. Well, this state sits on US soil where freedom is supposed to exist. Why is this country starting to look more like Communist? I think the NC Lottery sees that sales are down. People aren't winning. Education lottery and since passed schools continue to close down. I say sweepstakes parlors stay open because bingo parlors still operate. Jones will let you stay open, just help him campaign $$$.
I never realized the well financed opposition forming against his reelection and oddly it is not support for another candidate but rather an any body but Jones momentum. I have tried to remain neutral and give Jones the benefit of the doubt but not sure how much longer. I have been shocked by the remarks of several deep pocketed, hardcore republicans not pleased with several of his actions. Would not surprise me at all to see this lead to a shake up of the local republican party. They are being very discreet in the planning but expect we will know more very soon. These guys do not appear to be ex employees or typical troublemakers but rather businessmen and reputable citizens ready to make changes and willing to dig deep for info and spend whatever it takes to make changes. I am still on the outside looking in but that can change also.

I am not against it. I am against the way it has been handled in this county. The first mishap was the way the state left everything in such a conflicting ruling, then 70% of the state is allowed to operate but local sweepstakes are regulated based on personal beliefs and not legal structure. The legal standing here appears to be " because I said so" . That is not the way this country intended laws to be enforced. I am yet to talk to a sweepstakes owner that has talked to or seen the sheriff. They have dealt with deputies and command staff. I realize the rulings left law enforcement in an odd situation but communication and research should have been more effective from the start of this mess. The political impact locally will unfortunately be stronger than people realize at the moment.

You are very observant indeed. The wheels are in motion and we will return the party and the office of Sheriff to the people. Organization and preparation starts now, the clock is ticking. Stay tuned my friend.

I am guessing CCSD has never heard the Supreme Courts phrase "government of laws, not men". I understand they will soon.

If everything plays out well the timing will be perfect. With the election next year the lawsuits and "higher government intervention" that hopefully will play out over the next year will spell doom for Jones and his private country club. The opposition in the Republican party is building its momentum and funds silently but rapidly. The plans are already in the works and in motion.

The republican party has no clue how divided it is already. The silent majority is already growing faster and easier than anticipated. What will be the defining moment is when campaign contributions are directed to the select candidate and not channeled thru the party, insuring the proper candidate receives the proper funding.

Had to laugh hearing a women at the store wonder when Hudson became it's on sovereign nation since it seems sheriff dont enforce laws there no more. Lol. She was trying to get petition going to make Hudson demote Andy and get new chief. I don't think this is really right for Andy myself and don't see him going nowhere but he should not be in position he's in over 321, that's the counties job to handle sweepstakes. Don't go signing no petitions,

All the other owners of sweepstakes businesses in the county have been told if they open they will be arrested. What's the deal that 321 can stay open? Something is just not right here.......

The sheriff finally done his job after he was going to be sued once more. He is getting scared folks. He has something to be scared of. Wilson is already crime fighting. We give credit to him because if not for him Jones would not care. Jones needs to keep what little support he has
now.

Wonder who the charging agency was. Seems county had pushed it off on Andy, wonder if CCSD had change of heart ?

Hey guys, I told you our Sheriff was the man. We just shut another one down. Yes I know it took awhile and about a million phone calls from angry citizens but we did it. Hey, we got an election to win and I'm sure Andy won't mind us taking the lead on this one. Well I guess I can put the sheriff back to bed since he made his one appearance. I hope this is enough to get the party off our backs.

Still suspicious why they got to run 2 1/2 months longer than all the rest of the places. I was in another place playing like the day after the law changed in Jan and CCSD came in and shut them down and we had to stop playing and leave then. Don't seem right to me

Looks like they voluntarily shut down their place on Connelly Springs Rd. earlier yesterday. Makes you why they did that hours before CCSD shut their other place down.

Don't worry folks, as soon as we win the election, your sweepstakes places will be back open. I know it's a going to be tough but don't worry citizens, if I support is in the election we will have "some" of the sweepstakes places back in place.

Yes this is a quick ploy by Jones to salvage a few votes. Credit goes to the Wilson camp for this shutdown. Wilson has lit a fire under these guys and they are scared to death. Don't be fooled by these "too little, too late ploys". The Wilson storm is coming and will blow away this corruption.

I wonder if anyone has ever went into a sweepstakes? I use to work at one.. The people that came in there became like family. This is very sad. And for Haha i guess you do not know what you are talking about I work for Bill Mudd in Rutherford College. And both of the ones on Connelly Springs Rd have been closed for a while. I have been out of work since Jan. I loved my job and the people that came in there. It wasn't just a place to come in and play games. It was a place to come in and talk tell people your problems and get away for awhile. Before you judge these places try spending some time in one!
