they should put a pig farm there and make them smell pigsh**t instead of rubber. Then instead of hurtin' your ears you can turn up your nose.

The area around Tri County Speedway can go back to low income and an impoverished area. Even the road was not even paved until the speedway was built. There is no reason to visit caldwell county or spend any of our money there as all that is left is a group of arrogant neighbors that feel that anyone that graces their community and spends money in their county are a bunch of rednecks.

i'm sorry but your information is incorrect. the road was paved long before the speedway was built, and it was not a low income or impoverished area.

Thanks for not disputing the fact about arrogant neighbors or any reason to visit Caldwell county, if you had we would have had a problem.

Maybe ask Jim Perdue for some chickens to raise, ever smelled chicken poo in the hot humid summer, no one will EVER come and vist you people...

Guess that would be exactly what you want!!!

When the rest of the businesses suffer as the waterfall effect takes in, make sure you go knock on your commissioners doors, not mine, you IDIOTS!

Caldwell County needs real Republicans running the Gov't. No Republican who respects the Constitution of the US would attack one business with punitive laws that do not apply to all the businesses. We have too many wolves in sheep's clothing with too much power over the lives of the Citizens. The trouble is most people have public education and do not know any better.

Yep! I heard it! It was very loud....
Setting in my living room with the AC on, all the windows and doors closed and couldn't hear the TV.
And no I didn't buy a house next to a racetrack so I could complain. I have lived here for 25 years. So I hope someone moves in next to you and builds an airport or a train depot.

Ever heard of insullation? Your little trailer with the two inch walls is the reason that you can hear everthing outside. Why don't you get off the couch, go out on a Saturday like others and maybe even take in a race, I'm sure you would enjoy it. Why would a train depot, an airport or anthing else come to Caldwell county ? Everyone has already left. And yes, you are a complainer, it doesn't matter where you live.

I live on the other side of the horseshoe bend road in Virginia Acres. I donít live in a trailer but a $200,000 house built with 2x6 construction, brick walls and 6 inches of insulation. And if the breeze is blowing to the south as it was Saturday night you canít watch TV in your own living room for all the noise.
Iím retired and 65 years old I want my piece and quite. I've earned it.

Now we see, things are much clearer now. Your screen name of hope and change tells us that even though Tri county was there before you moved into that community, you are not overly concerned about the likes of your neighbors, only your own. This track brought a lot of money into your county, and being the hick town that Hudson is, is something that your county direly needs. These cars are now required to have mufflers and if you can hear these cars from that far away, either you have windows open or your home is in great need of repair. I too am retired and I respect the want of others and what they enjoy and do not expect the world to revolve around my likes and dislikes and conform to me. You should have the same respect for those that enjoy their racing, just turn your hearing aid down a bit, everything will be fine.

FYI The Hope and Change name was left over from my last post on Obama-care
I donít need a hearing aid yet but if I had to listen to all that noise every weekend I probably will need one.
No thereís nothing wrong with my house or windows itís just too loud and if you ask anyone in the neighborhood you get the same answer.

As for the track bringing in a lot of money, please state your source, there are no motels or restaurants nearby so other than the real-estate taxes paid on the property I see no advantage to the county. I say county because the track does not reside in the city limits of any town unless possibly the big city of Baton.

You had the AC on huh? I was at the race and was about to freeze to death out there, so I highly doubt you had the AC on. Also there is no way in HELL you could not hear your tv. Stop being so dramatic. Its one night a week you grumpy old man. Quit trying to ruin fun for people who generally enjoy racing.

Yes! I had the AC on. Itís automatic on a thermostat ever hear of that. The AC comes on when it needs to.
Was it running all Saturday evening probably not?
Yes! I could hear the TV but I had to turn the volume up twice as high as usual.

It doesnít change the fact that the race at Tri-county Speedway Saturday night was loud!
Iím not ruining a race for anybody, Iím just stating the fact it was REALLY LOUD and I would prefer not to have to hear it. Iíve never asked for the track to close. Iíve not signed any petitions to have it closed like my neighbors have. But be it the weather conditions, the wind direction or whatever IT WAS REALLY LOUD SATURDAY NIGHT.

I hope somebody decides to park their Helicopter next to your house and run it every Saturday night from 8:00pm to 11:00pm. Or better yet tell me where you live and Iíll come over with my leaf blower at 6:00am Saturday morning.

You do realize that you are complaining about noise for 3 hours once a week right? Do you realize how dumb you sound? You and all of your neighbors need to get over it. Especially the women who told the News Topic "I cannot pray or read my bible when racing is going on". Are you kidding me people? Using God as an excuse? I am sure he is might proud of her.
With the economy the way it is, it dumbfounds me that people want to get a business shut down just so they don't have to hear a hum for 3 hours 1 night a week. A hum I might add that you cannot hear inside your house I don't care what you say.

IF the direct of the wind had anything to do with the travel of sound....you would be incorrect. If you live in Virginia Acres then you are NNE of the race track so the sound would be "blowing" away from you with a southern wind. Just saying....:-D

I can remember sitting on my dads trailer when i was small watching him race ...i thought it was just the coolest thi.g ever...to see my dad sideways on a dirt track....im 31 now an i finally got the opportunity to race at tri county a couple weeks ago....and just as i did when i was young i thought how cool is it that i get to race somewhere my dad did....thats a memory that i will always have...and a memory i would like for my daughter to have as she loves racing as much as i do..one day i would like for would like for her to be in a race car with the same thought.....this track runs deep in this area...its a legacy to some familys.....you may not like the noise..but its one night a week...whats one night of your week compared to almost everynight of the week we as racers spend with an in some cases without our families an the sacrifices we make to get those cars to the track on that one night to put on a show for those who live to hear that sound that you call noise....i understand that some may have been in the area before the track...but for those who wernt ....theres a race track...didnt cross your mind tbere may be race cars there making some noise from time to time????....come on ppl.....we dont have much left in this area..so can we please keep what we have...jmo

Itís only one night a week?

So if your neighborís dog treeís a raccoon every Friday night and sets there and barks for 3 hours and when you complain he says itís only once a week. Thatís going to be acceptable to you.

If your neighbor gets up at 6:00am every Sunday morning and goes in his garage to work on his old truck and runs an air compressor, runs the engine, runs power equipment youíre ok with that. I mean itís only once a week.

If your neighborís kid decides to start a rock band and uses his garage to practice once a week for 3 hours. I guess that would be ok with you too.

Itís easy to say itís only once a week when you donít have to listen to it.

It appears you're a chronic complainer that has been a thorn in your neighbors side for years. Whatever the noise is, yes it is just three hours per week, sheesh! There is no way that if you have your doors and windows closed that the noise is as loud as the sound coming from your TV. If I had a choice between a race track and a complaining and medling neighbor, I would take the track every time.
