Just out of curiosity, what is your past experience with him? Negative, positive, neutral - I don't care. I want opinions before I make an appointment with him. Thanks!

I had the misfortune of going into labor while both midwifes were out of town so I was stuck with Dacus. He didn't seem fully alert and was rather rude every time he came to check on me. One time, he came in pulled up a stool and stared at my lady parts in a daze like they were going to talk to him at any moment. Then he got up, told the nurse "she's not ready, don't call me again until she is!" So I personally would not suggest him to anyone, but he could've been overwhelmed by his patients and both of theirs too?

I just recently seen him for the first time. I had a physical and pap. I really liked him. I normally see a female gynecologist but moving to this area I picked Dr.Dacus. Again I thought he was very nice and informative. Now his nurse Ann on the other hand makes me want to throw up cause she acts like shes the doctor!!!! I recommend if you can deal with his nurse!!!!

Ann is a good person. After people work with doctors for a while, they start picking up on the way the doctor wants things done. They may even be able to diagnose, but most keep that to themselves as it's practicing beyond the scope of nursing. It drives me crazy that people think that the nursing staff should be dumb and not know anything. A lot of times they know more than the doctors.

When I go to doctor, I want to hear from the doctor what is wrong. Not what the nurse THINKS she knows. A nurse should never give a diagnosis, that is not her job. I'm sure nurses are smart or else they wouldn't be a nurse . But you can try to multitask and be nice AND smart.

So I am pretty certain if Dr. Dacus had a problem with how she does her job, he'd let her know. He does work close enough with her to see her actions.
If what you are saying is actually true, and it's a problem, then he would already know. However, if it's an attempt to malign a lady for doing her job, then we all know the end results of complaints like that.

I went to see him at least 4 years ago. i was told i needed a procedure that was going to cost me about 500 out of pocket. i postponed the appointment due to finances and the secretary was quite rude with me. She told me i had to get it done. I told her i couldnt and she got quite mad. Ever since i drive to Hickory. I had no problems with him.

I would just like to take a minute and brag on Dr Dacus as well as his nurse Ann. They are WONDERFUL!!! I have been going to Dacus for 16 yrs. He has delivered all three of my children and did an amazing job. He was very much attentive and was not in a daze! I thank God that I was able to have a good doctor. One of my biggest fears in having children was being stuck with another doctor on call. Dr Dacus was willing to come in even if he wasn't on call to deliver my third child. He done this for many others when he moved to the new office. He is a great doctor and get so sick of hearing bad things about him. Perfect, no, but a really good and caring doctor.

Trust me after going to him for 16 yrs and three kids later... He is an awesome doctor. Don't pay attention to negative comments. I can't tell u the ppl who have said bad things about him. My close friends tried to convince me to change doctors just recently with my third child...I didn't!!! Thankful I didn't listen.

Yeah? And like most businesses and professionals - they pay people to write good reviews. I rarely trust online reviews unless it's on Angie's List or a service like that.

I moved to Lenoir in March of this year, from Charlotte, NC. I am post-menopausal. I went to Dr Dacus for a problem I had complained to my Charlotte doctor for 3 years, to no avail. Dr Dacus immediately scheduled an D and C and biopsy of my uterus. 3 days later he called me to tell me the biopsy showed cancer. He was wonderful, and efficient, as was his entire staff. He saved my life! He hooked me up with Hope Woman's Cancer Center in Asheville where I had a successful hysterectomy. I am now cancer free! I can not recommend Dr Dacus, and his entire staff enough!!! Thank you, Dr Dakus.

The only person I see that is acting immature is someone identifying with the name "Poodle".
If I don't like the way you are talking about Ann, then it's my right to voice my opinion just the same as you are intent to voice yours. If anyone needs to grow up, that would be you. If you have audacity to come on to topix to talk about the woman behind her back, then you have the responsibility to deal with it when people stand up for her. Just because I am taking up for someone who isn't here to take up for herself doesn't mean that I am Ann either. I have known her for years and she doesn't deserve to be talked about like you are talking about her.

Sorry to hear that she isn't there anymore. She did her job very well and made the appointments much easier for my mom when she had to be seen. Hopefully she will be successful in her new endeavour.

Ann has worked for Dr. Dacus for year she knows her job well and she will tell you what she thinks whether you like it or not and Dr. Dacus will stand behind what she does 100% She can't give a diagnosis but she does know what she is doing,
