I haven't seen David since he was a kid! I am glad he was able to touch people's lives the way he obviously was able to. May he rest in peace. My sincere condolences to Angie, John, Mr. and Mrs. Davenport and the rest of his family and friends.

My prayers go out to Davenport's family and friends and all the students, especially the cheerleaders, who he affected positively. Though I did not know him personally, I think it is a tragedy to lose someone so young and upbeat who was an influential part of the Spartan staff. God Bless.

Why was he driving like an idiot, if he's supposed to be so *cool*?
He could have killed ME, as I use that road all the time. I don't think that is *cool* at all.
You're right he obviously showed poor judgment in his driving. Regardless of that fact, he has had a tremendously profound, and positive impact on many peoples lives; many of which were teenagers and young adults. I'd say that is, "cool". Perhaps you should be more discretionary when passing judgment.

Let this be a lesson for the kids coming here to read the article. Your beloved "Mr Davenport" was irresponsible, reckless, and made bad decisions that could have potentially killed someone else. People like this are not cool, they are selfish and irresponsible.
Way to set an example "Mr Davenport".
I would think that someone going by the handle, "Messiah" would show a little more compassion and understanding; Without even knowing who Mr. Davenport was, the contributions he made, and the many lives that he positively affected, you have deemed him both selfish, and irresponsible. It amazes me how anyone can make such a judgment based from a person's poor choice.

Furthermore, what compassion you truly show for someone who paid dearly for his poor choice. If I were to base Christianity from your "lesson", I would certainly say that Christians were cruel, callous, and without compassion. However, that is not the case. Perhaps you should think about the poor choices you have made in life and ask, "Could the same be said about myself at anytime in my life?"

Although I have not seen David since high school, I was very saddened to hear of his death. It's great to know that the person he was in high school carried on through his career. He was a great guy whom touched the hearts of many through out his life. Celebrate those memories!
