Why do gay people think they have a r...

The bible has nothing to do with allowing Gay people to marry. They are asking for equal rights under civil law, not to be allowed to have a religious ceremony in your church. No church will be forced to marry people they don't want to. What are people so afraid of? Committed relationships? Sanctity of marriage is BS. When all the religious folks stop cheating, outlaw divorce, and stop relying on the old "forgiven" thing to keep violating the 10 commandments I might think your serious. If not, keep your nose and your church out of the lives of others. Gay families have just as much right to be happy as the rest of us.

I completely agree with you on this one. I am a man and I know that a child needs a MOTHER (NOT TWO FATHERS!) In their life to be happy. Think if your parents were gay and you all went on a vacation together. Sleeping in the same hotel seeing your two dads sleeping together (SICK)! We should just let gays get married so they would shut the fuck up and that bitchy LGBT group wouldn't have any excuse to parade around the damn streets. The only reason why politicians are considering giving them the right to marry is so that the USA doesn't look like hypocrites cause supposedly this Gay marriage is a RIGHT!!! So gays, maybe you would get more rights if you would just shut the fuck up and admit it's not normal and that you people are not only a minority in the USA, but in the WORLD!(And that is a fact!) Sorry!! The truth hurts:( and I'm sure you've heard that saying before.
Why this foul mouthed guy should have more rights than others seems strange to me. I'll bet your all about keeping your guns, free speech, etc. Just not for people you don't like. You sir, are no one to judge Normal!

Who are you people to tell anybody who they can't and cannot love? Your nobody that's who. I'd rather have a child in a loving home rather than a abusive home like I grew up in. You people are ignorant and you are the sick ones. You fear what you hate and hate what you fear. Who in the hell are any of you to call us not normal your the "not normal" ones. At least we are proud to be who we are and we don't have to hide behind a fake veil of normalcy. If you think gays/Leisbeins/bi-sexuals are so gross then don't look at us it's simple as that.

Unfortunately, where people get stuck is with the world "Marriage." A marriage is a religious ceremony. Most same-sex couples don't want a religious ceremony, nor recognition by a religion. What they want is political equality.

The last I heard, there was supposed to be a separation between church and state.

If we are to be politically correct and constitutional, no one should be "married" in the eyes of the state, and no "marriage", whether heterosexual or homosexual, should be recognized for receiving benefits. An opposite-sex relationship, when identified by any government, should not be called a "marriage." It should be referred to as a "civil union." The same goes for a same-sex relationship.

If you want your relationship to be recognized by a church, and believe in religious influence, you should take your relationship up with your church and receive a "marriage." If you want a government to recognize your relationship, you should receive a "civil union."
I don't know why that's so hard to see.

I am not a gay individual, but I do believe in gay marriage. Every individual has the right to marry, find happiness for they rest of their lives. This is the only country that has a big problem with gay people. The society prosecutes them for just the fact that they chose to be this way. Now you using religion as your cause for this obnoxious campaign. So I am assuming you believe in Incest relationships. According to the bible which was written by the most flaw creature....mankind it states that we all are descendants from Adam and Eve. And if they had two sons, that meant that both sons mated with Eve thus creating a incest pool of on going sexual interactions. You see how stupid that is, then the birth of Jesus Christ came from a virgin, that was bullshit. A women cannot become pregnant unless inseminated, therefore she was not a virgin. The bible is a ridiculous book that has been used for many reasons that remain questionable such as wars and other acts. For once drop that stupid book and see what is front of you, I doubt that God not christ, but God wouldn't want us to find eternal happiness. If he created us, then he is our parent and every parent wants to see their children happy and find happiness.
So to all the gay religious individuals that are in the closet and are in doubt if God loves you or not. Do not fear and do not doubt, he will love you no matter what, he will accept us no matter what. You have the right to be happy, find happiness and live a life without the fear of prosecution for your lifestyle choices.
As for myself, I will continue to stand side by side with you we are brothers and sisters in arms, and in the light of this oppression war I will continue to fight along your side. We all deserve to find eternal happiness.
Marriage is the religious ceremony of the union between a man and a woman. Adam and Eve were the first married couple. It wasn't between a woman and a woman or a man and a man. And God told them to be fruitful and MULTIPLY. Use some common sense. Men and Women were specifically made for each other and to be committed to each other in Holy matrimony. And God is the author of the holy scriptures. How could any man pen such a profound life changing book. If these gay people don't believe in religion then why are they wanting to partake of a religious act? And if they do believe in religion then why are they trying to pretty much take a crap on religion and defile it. I understand you're trying to stand up for your beliefs but according to God and the Bible you're supporting blasphemy and abominable acts. Open your heart to the Lord and he will reveal his will and good pleasure. It's not right for people to make a mock of religion. I've never heard of Gay marriages mentioned in any religious texts. They had the common sense to not even think of such absurdity. If people don't come to their senses soon we're in for a rude awakening.

So...sometimes I am embarassed to live in loma linda where people say things like "what makes gay people think they have the right to get married?" um....I am pretty sure most people think they have the right to get married because they love each other and only want to be with one person forever and that has nothing to do with sexuality.

The first thing I need to say is that (The Bible) is only a spiritual entity and that it was written by white males centuries ago. It is said that God has a book of life for all man. So if this is the case he wrote mine to be a Lesbian with a child who is good and respectful and very HAPPY. I worked very hard to have him and I love him very much. Secondly what about some same sex couples who beat and abuse their children because it is so easy for them to have children, is that SICK as you put it?

I disagree with gay marriage. It honestly makes no sense. It isn't normal for a man to be attracted to another man, or a woman to be attracted to another woman. Humans were meant to reproduce and you can't do that if you're in a homosexual relationship. Just think, if every person was in a heterosexual relationship, the world would keep going, but if everyone was in a homosexual relationship, the world would end because no one would be able to reproduce and we would eventually die out. I'm not judging gay people, because I know they don't choose to have those feelings, but they choose to act on it, which is a sin. Also, they could get mental help, but they never choose to do that. I guess it makes sense that the same people who are for abortions, are also for gay marriage. Either way, the human race is going to end because there will be no more people being born.

24 Therefore God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleanness,+ that their bodies+ might be dishonored among them,+ 25 even those who exchanged the truth+ of God for the lie+ and venerated and rendered sacred service to the creation rather than the One who created, who is blessed forever. Amen.* 26 That is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites,+ for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature;+ 27 and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female+ and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males,+ working what is obscene*+ and receiving in themselves the full recompense,+ which was due for their error.+
28 And just as they did not approve of holding God in accurate knowledge,+ God gave them up to a disapproved mental state,+ to do the things not fitting,+ 29 filled as they were with all unrighteousness,+ wickedness,+ covetousness,+ badness,+ being full of envy,+ murder,+ strife,+ deceit,+ malicious disposition,+ being whisperers,+ 30 backbiters,+ haters of God, insolent,+ haughty,+ self-assuming,+ inventors of injurious things,+ disobedient to parents,+ 31 without understanding,+ false to agreements,*+ having no natural affection,+ merciless.+ 32 Although these know full well the righteous decree of God,+ that those practicing such things are deserving of death,+ they not only keep on doing them but also consent+ with those practicing them.
Also 2Timothy 3 But know this, that in the last days+ critical times hard* to deal with will be here.+ 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty,* blasphemers,* disobedient to parents,+ unthankful, disloyal,+ 3 having no natural affection,+ not open to any agreement,*+ slanderers,*+ without self-control, fierce,*+ without love of goodness,+ 4 betrayers,+ headstrong, puffed up [with pride],+ lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God,+ 5 having a form of godly devotion*+ but proving false to its power;+ and from these turn away.+ 6 For from these arise those men who slyly work their way* into households+ and lead as their captives weak women loaded down with sins, led by various desires,+ 7 always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth.+
3 But know this, that in the last days+ critical times hard* to deal with will be here.+ 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty,* blasphemers,* disobedient to parents,+ unthankful, disloyal,+ 3 having no natural affection,+ not open to any agreement,*+ slanderers,*+ without self-control, fierce,*+ without love of goodness,+ 4 betrayers,+ headstrong, puffed up [with pride],+ lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God,+ 5 having a form of godly devotion*+ but proving false to its power;+ and from these turn away.+ 6 For from these arise those men who slyly work their way* into households+ and lead as their captives weak women loaded down with sins, led by various desires,+ 7 always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth.+
So what people do today is no different than what people did in tha past. That being said the consequences have not changed either so do worry about it all. These days have been foretold and the results are for sure.Stick to TRUE faith and guard yourselves and your family until the end of this old systems arrives.

So instead you prefer we live our entire lives in celibacy? If the whole conversion therapy thing doesn't work out we should spend the rest of our lives alone? Lonely and depressed. And you don't see anything fucked up about that at all?

Well its not right. And they are making a big deal out of it. I have gay friends, but I dont think they should marry. Theres nothing in the bible that says the same sex suppose to marry. How many sins do you need to make. And then they what kids,so they can mess up their heads, thinking its okay to be with the same sex.How sick is that. L eave the children out of this sick life style......PLEASE.....
I'm an atheist, do explain why your bible should have any say whatsoever about what I can and cannot do. Keep religion out of politics, just because your bible says something is wrong, it is nothing short of arrogant to think you have the right to force those rules on the rest of the country.

You and I both know it is wrong and it is sick, especially bringing kids into it. Imagine a child walking a room with two men suck together. Ugh. Disgusting.

You might not feel that gay marriage is right because it is not included in the Bible, but not everyone believes that the Bible should be a teaching tool. Some people just see is as a book of stories, not a life manual. After all, if (American) society should live their lives guided by the Bible, then why are we not adopting other rules of the Bible? I work on the Sabbath. I have touched meat (preparting dinner) while I was on my period. I have even ate shellfish. I have had sexual encounters before I was married and my husband and I enjoy oral sex (I know, TMI...) I know some of the things I just wrote were from the Old Testimate, but now they are acceptiable. If that is the case, why cannot marriage between two people who love eachother be acceptible, too?
I don't want this to be a debate. I am not trying to convince anyone here or anywhere that gay marriage should be allowed. I would never challenge someones' religious beliefs. But I just want to know why not let a gay couple get married? If two people were to get married, how would that marriage 'degrade' my marriage with my husband?
And while I am on it, how would a gay couple raising a child be perverted? There are many single mothers living with grandmas/aunts/sisters who raise boys. Not all gay people are pedophiles and not all pedophiles are gay (that is a common misconception, a totally other topic). What would be a better home for a child? A man/woman relationship where they don't get along, fight, etc. Or a home were one parent is always dating, bringing home a different person? Or a home with two people, regardless of sex, love and respect eachother?

The bible is the biggest fairy tale ever written and it has many fans....sadly it has fooled them all into thinking they need to live by what it says. You people make me laugh. It's a good story though I'll give you that. :)
