<quoted text>I absolutely agree that "I don't care if the child is white, black, Indian,or Asian .. Rich or poor." It only turned ugly when you & others continually jumped down my throat & cussed me out! If someone doesn't agree w/ you & the others or had a different outcome, they're wrong? Last time I checked this is a free country & I have the RIGHT to freedom of speech. You nor anyone else can take that away. I really thought you & others were looking for suggestions & ideas, when in reality all you want to do is complain! Enjoy your loathing & hatred.
The only time they started getting defensive is whenever you became disrespectful. I have read this thread through & through...and kept my mouth closed until now. You were the first to jump the gun, not any of these parents. You shouldn't judge others so quickly without knowing how they feel and what they have been through. I have experience with SPS, and I'll be the first to say it doesn't matter how respectful you are, they do not listen. I'm thankful to God they listened to you, but they do not listen to everyone. & you coming on here giving your advice in a rude way hurt these parents who are desperately searching for help. They have obviously tried, or are trying, everything they can... There is power is numbers. If getting a group of parents together will stop bullying at SPS, SO BE IT! Don't complain, be thankful they are standing up for a change. They're speaking out. They're upset because nothing has been done. Imagine being a parent who continually goes up to the school helplessly fighting for your child's protection, with no outcome whatsoever besides a bad one. You get desperate. Imagine that child, waking up every morning dreading the next 8 hours of the day because they don't feel protected. These parents on here have been respectful, they've followed the rules, they've called and not raised their voices, but it does not work and I am a witness to that, ma'am. Please, here them out... They are obviously thankful your child is no longer bullied, they've said it countless times, but you've got to understand, their battle didn't turn out as your's did, and it isn't their fault. The last thing a parent that is trying to protect their child wants, is fingers pointing back at them. I have heard countless times of parents failed attempts to talk to that administration about their child's bullying problems. People I go to church with, etc...that would never, EVER disrespect anyone, because that's not the kind of people they are. Please just don't be so quick to judge, you don't know how helpless they may feel.

<quoted text>I understand what you're saying. All I'm pointing out is that not every attempt to stop bullying situations at SPS ends unsuccessfully (obviously). Basically what I'm being told is that because mine did I'm not sympathetic, lying about my children's school district, am wealthy, etc. The way many are ganging up & jumping down my throat, they too are displaying bullying actions of their own. Actions they are so against!
I'm sorry but, I disagree. You were the first to sound hateful and mean...I'm sorry to say that but it is true. Coming here, giving advice that's already been done by these parents, and then blaming it on them, is not a way to make friends...it's a way to make people defend themselves..which is exactly what they were doing...

I was talking to whoever is saying us parents are white trash, etc. I have been paying attention. It gets confusing when there is more than one same name. No need to be mean

My child has also been bullied at that school. I followed the high-archy, and no one would help me. The principles got extremely defensive and never did anything. It is in the SHS handbook that if a child bullies, they receive up to 180 days suspension, well, the bully in my case never got any kind of punishment. In my opinion, the administration of that school are bullies as well!
. If the school is not following board policy as outlined in the handbook, the school can and should be sued. Just document when the bullying occurred, by whom, and the lack of response.

I have a question, and this is not taking any side with anyone or against anyone, I am concerned about an actual situation involving my child. If my child was actually hit at school, can I press charges against the child that hit them? If so, how do I start?

The best thing to do if your child was hurt , is to go to the police first ... Then the school... The officer will tell you everything you need to do....

Oh I understand first hand.... You can still do as stated above.... If it is one of these schools show the cop what we are all going through and may be he then will understand more of the need for his assistance .... Because if there are no examples/ lesson taught .... Our kids will feel that way... My child felt like it was his fault... And that he should not have told... After all the stress I went through with the ordeal. I explained I raised my child right, the right thing was done , and I would do it again.... And I am still fighting for all of our kids as we speak... If you don't mind me asking, if you do what school is this? My child's started in 5 & 6 th and now it's junior high ... I am not afraid as I stated to tell or preach my story, as long as someone else benefits from it!!!! Till I can't talk ....I just hate that this is happening to so many of our children.... I knew it in my heart..... That's why I started this thread... But it hurts to read... So many stories like mine... No child deserves this... If these bullies would stop and think, about their future and their children ; would they want their child to be treated this way? No.

Bus drivers need to report more on bullying. There is a 3rd grade girl that rides a bus near Ables Road that is a horrible bully. It is ashame that a little girl that young is so horrible. She bullies the disabled, the younger, the older kids that are to nice to put her in her place. This is one BRAT. Parents you need to do something with the child before its to late for her to change. The bus driver also needs to report this before it goes on any longer.

Call 1-866-748-7047, the MO school violence hotline. Once you report it at that level, maybe the school can't get by with sweeping problems under the carpet.
