I was thinking of getting LASIK eye surgery sometime soon. I am tired of having such bad eyesight. Has anyone had LASIK done at LasikPlus in Lexington with Dr. Jason Greenberg?

Anyone who has had LASIK have any advice or recommendations? Also, if you had LASIK and are pleased with it, where did you get it done and how much did it cost?

If I freak out will I still be fine though? Like I know its quick and especially now that the lasers follow your eye if you move it isn't that dangerous but I know I am going to freak out anyway.

I know most do, will they give you valium to calm you before the surgery? Also, do they give you pain mess for recovery? If so what kind?

Yes - They give you valium as soon as you finish your paperwork. I think freaking out for any surgery is normal but in Lasik everything happens pretty fast - so it is over before you get totally worked up! Your eyes will water and burn alot right after surgery - but if you let the valium do its job (lay down and take a nap for the first couple of hours) you wont have too much trouble. LAsik is the best thing I ever did- good luck!

How much did it cost? How bad were your eyes?

My prescription is -3.5 in one eye with a -2.25 astigmatism and the other eye is -3.75 with a -1.5 astigmatism. I worry that is too bad, but I don't know if I should get the initial check appointment yet because it will be at least a year before I get the surgery done.

Before ever selecting a place for surgery, you should consult your local eye doctor about whether or not you are a candidate and find out what surgeon they would send their family members to. Probably the best place to get advice in my opinion.

Your eye doctor isn't the one who decides. Either way, I asked my eye doctor and all he would say is that he doesn't advise anyone to get LASIK.

I never said your eye doctor is the one who decides. You decide, but getting information from an eye doctor who sees surgery from all surgeons in the area is a smart place to start. If your eye doctor doesn't recommend lasik, then call other eye doctors in your area and see who they recommend. You only have 2 eyes so you certainly don't want to trust just anyone. Not all centers, equipment or surgeons are created equal.

I have asked around, I didn't just think "LasikPLUS" sounded cool. Most people I know who have had LASIK had it done out of state. The ones who did have it done in Kentucky recommended Dr Greenberg at the LasikPLUS in Lexington. So, I made this post to see how other people liked him.

I live in a small town so my eye doctor is the only eye doctor in town.

I think i wasnt quite as bad as you but my sister wore coke bottles and we both paid the same amount so I think they just have one price which is 4600 for both eyes. We got a discount bc of our insurance which made it 3800. And the exam is free so if you arent able to have it the only thing you have lost is time.

Dr Greenberg is a fantastic Doctor as well as his staff. I live here in Lexington, and will visit with him soon for a checkup for my surgery was done about 7 yrs ago.At that time I lived in small town, and drove to Louisville to his office, but now I will see him here in Lexington. Good luck I know you'll be pleased, and glad you took this step to a new level of seeing.

I had LASIK performed there back in Oct. 2013. They are supposed to call & schedule a 2-3 post-op appt. They never called to set this up. I tried calling them to set it up and can't get through. After they get your money, they stop caring about their customers. My eyes have been so dry and sore after it. The dryness is unbearable at times, no matter how many eye drops I put in. I also think my eyes have already decreased and that I can no longer see 20/20.
