Apparently, the Lady of Eagle Lake has once again made an appearance. According to reports given to MSU Police, a lady in a long dress was seen wading into the water on the far side of the dam sometime before Christmas break 2008. The apparition is supposedly that of a professor who committed suicide by drowning herself there years ago.

How interesting. I would love to hear more about this. Anybody know if it is true about a suicide drowning at Eagle Lake? Anyone have more stories about alledged sightings?

There is a website you can go on... i can't remember the name but you can find it. it tells the different places in ky that is supposedly haunted. you type in the county that you are interested in and it lists every place that is haunted. there are at least 3 places on MSU that are on the list. i think Nun hall is one of them. All 3 are the dorms. i don't think the lake is on there but i could be wrong. it also tells why its haunted. Mr Gattis is also on the list.

I would love to have a link to that site. I have heard about nunn hall. For some reason I am thinking that story was about a female student committing suicide there, then again it could be I am remembering a plot from an R.L. Stine book I read when I was a preteen, lol.

lol no its not a plot from an R. L. Stine book. i think it is about a female who commits suicide. i think she jumps out a window or something like that. i can't remember what site it is. i was playing around when i found it. i just typed in haunted places or something like that. it really is a cool site. it also has Waverly Sanitarium in Louisville listed on there. if i wasn't such a chicken i would love to go there. they do tours every Halloween, but the first thing i see they would have a new doorway leading outside. lol

Hauntings and Ghosts and all that fascinates me. I'll have to see if I can find it. I sure wouldn't be going by myself though.

shadowlands haunted places index-kentucky. it's very interested. It doesn't list the lady of the lake but the nunn hall story is about a lady named penelope. There are a couple that aren't mentioned like the down on 60 west the old wooden bridge is supposedly haunted. I don't remeber all the details but on rainy nights/flooding raining nights you can see hear a woman calling for her child or children I can't remember if they were lost in a flood or if she threw them off the bridge.

The bridge isn't mentioned on that site it is a story I was told a few years ago. Have no idea if it has any merit.

I am a firm believer in the spiritual dimensions and their manifestations, plus, if I were a gambling man, I would say someone has drowned in eagle lake, but the main reason you cant swim there is that it is the source of msu's water supply.

I can tell you that the story in the lake is very true.. She found that her husband was sleeping with one of her students, took some pills then went for a swim (with intentions)..I know this to be very very true.. She was last known to be seen in the woods @ Eagle Lake not in the water. Her name was Dr. I better not tell that i could get into trouble..

It was late 2001..Also there is another place on bluebank Rd. that i have seen myself about 4yr ago..Its a house that a man came home drunk killed his family and tried to burn the house down, but the house didn't burn down.. Sometimes you can drive passed the house and see a little kid on the partially burned porch with a lighter..i think there was a mother and two children don't know when it happened though.

BTW, You probably wont find anything on the death seeing as how it happened @ MOREHEAD STATE, They have many different ways of covering things like this up.. If you are trying to put a name to a ghost you would have to dig DEEP! But good luck with that..

This is a true story about the professor drowning herself. I don't know the year but Ky. State Trooper Jack Evans worked the case and said that for years after the lady drowned herself, reports trickled in of students and others observing a lady wading into the lake at the spot the drowning occurred in late evening or nighttime hours. I'm sure if the year was known, information could be found on the subject. I have fished up there many times, day and night and there are times it can be spooky, but the number of huge bass in there overcame my fear of the supernatural.....LOL.

I'll leave the digging to the ghost hunters, just curiosity on my part.
