What will probably happen is the kids that come from rich families will have lawyers to represent them and the prosecuting attorney will drop the charges on them and go for the easy convictions of the students who come from less fortunate families

All these people involved are under 18 so they are all underage. They are kids and kids are going to do what with cameras? I dont think anyone should be arrested. Punished yes.

The girls who did willing send the pictures out should be suspended as well. Also if the boys who had the pictures are under 18 they are not adults and if the girls are 16 or older in this state they are legal age of consent. Just something to consider.
You are wrong. The 16 year old age of consent in Kentucky is for sex. But as the law stands with regard to the child pornography issue, possessing or transmitting nude photos of anyone under the age of 18 is violating the law and that includes the underage person who initially transmitted the photo of their own accord.

I agree with what you say should happen, but not all of them were under age, there are a handful that are 18, and unfortunately they will be tried as adults

The investigation is an ongoing process and the administration is only punishing a few people as of today. Not the football players!! They just need to drop it. Every school system has the same problem but it doesn't get blown up like this! Yes, it was wrong. But they're under 18 and I'm sure are going through enough. And talking about it on it makes it even more immature!! Grow up!

According to the news report, it said that the athletes were going to be suspended from upcoming games. This doesn't start immediately?

High school suspensions investigated

The Morehead News

Oct. 5, 2012 — The Morehead News is investigating the suspension of several high school students for allegedly having inappropriate photos on their cell phones.

About a dozen students were suspended Friday. Reports initially said as many as 119 students were suspended but a high school official said that number was extremely “out of proportion.”

The suspensions also reportedly involve several athletes who will be suspended from upcoming games.

No charges have been filed but a criminal investigation is under way to determine if any laws were broken.

The Morehead News will report more details as they become available.

Everywhere I've heard....twitter and many other people, have said around 112 suspensions. So I really don't see how literally everyone at our school is saying at least 100, when this news article only says a dozen.

Look who the teachers are, and then are you surprised? Some of the teachers and one I know for certain are sexting their boyfriends while married. Teachers like her with no values are having negative influences on our children.

Heres the thing. 16 is the legal age but some of these girls are in middle school from what my child told me. They should all be held accountable, boys and girls. Who sent them and who had them. They should not make them register as sex offenders. Kids will be kids. The phones our kids have now days are crazy. We didnt have this kind of stuff when we were their age and were probably raised to know better. There were 5 cheerleaders and one on the homecoming court that I heard of. They should not have been able to participate nor the football players. Just my opinion.

If these kids aren't looking at, showing, or taking these pictures in school, it none of the schools damn business. Schools now-a-days think they can do whatever they please. If these kids were not caught looking at these pictures, the school should not and can not search their phones (which is why they suspended so many; just having them on their phone). I would not be surprised if one of the parents of these students does not just sue the ass off this terrible school (which they should when as soon as they can).

I sent a few pics to a guy I liked but it shouldn't have gotten blown up like this. They have no right to search us without a warrant. I'm taking this to court I assure you that!!
