Hello,
I have fibromyalgia, I take lyrica and savella. Savella is a new medication for fibromyalgia and it is wonderful. Although it may not be for everyone it is definately worth trying.

I tell my family that it is like really bad arthritis in your muscles instead of in your joints. At times it hurts to be even lightly touched. Also, it can zap your energy level, so you have to learn to pace yourself. You have good days and you have bad days. It has to effect both side of your body and at least 11 of 18 pressure points. It generally has some effect your organs, primarily heart and bladder. It also leaves you with "fibro-fog", where your brain takes mini breaks and you can't remember even the most everyday common things. I'll have to find you a good link to follow.

I'm on Lyrica and Cymbalta, now. But have heard some good stuff about this Savella. I just got my Lyrica increased to 100 mg three times a day. I also go to pain clinic for other pain not necessarily related to fibro.

How does the Savella help you?

I have been taken off cymbalta to try savella. You can not take anti-depressants with savella. The new medicine is awesome, but my husband misses me taking my crazy pills. LOL But, I also take 600 mg. Lyrica a day and zanaflex. So far, this combination has been very good. I am walking every day. Something I haven't done in about 6 years. Yeah!!!!

Peter Gilliam's CALM powered magnesium one to 3 teaspoons a day in hot water, rasberry or lemon flaver is good, this is a mood stabilizer as well as helping with calcium uptake and distribution and digestion, a absorbable B-vit like the liquid stuff for ~5bucks and fish oil for several months should even out bi-polar or depression. Test for toxoplasmosis if DR. will and magnesium levels should be kept at the upper end or over the range. THis is also good for cardiac health. Vitimin K is a factor for calcium transport but is a clotting factor, Doctor Sintatra's solution has added vitamin K2 to his batch of supplements and says it will be as important as fish oil or aspirin in the near future prescribed by cardiologists as they recognise cellular cardiology as a valid field. There are also some magnesium gels and oils to rub on the skin but I have not tried these.

New studies show that is caused from a retro-virus, causing your nerves to overfire. Benzo's should work the best. Most ppl with Fybro have anxiety issues so it is a win win.

It took mom over three years to be diagnosed with it and chronic fatigue syndrome (they seem to go together) There was no medicine and she had to go through doctors telling her there was nothing wrong with her and then through drs who wanted to do test after test to elimiate the possiblity it was something else. When she was diagnosed the dr said well all that's left is fibromyalgia. No one told her that depression was a part of it, that she would occassionally get the shakes because her nerves are shot, and that she wouldn't be able to work after a certain point. Glad there is medicine out there now. Glad that drs realize it is a real condition and that women don't have to go through what mom did.
