Guess a person had to be there to know.I reckon Mr Martin is going thru enough without rumor and speculation spreading.

Do we really need details on why and how someone went to work and ended up losing a leg?
I know I don't.

You say you worked there. Then you should know what could have happened to cause such injury.

I'm sure lawyers are not the only ones moving in fast. I'm guessing that OSHA is going to have a field day with this one.

Actually from what I know, SRG is going to fight any lawsuit, claiming negligence.
Also, this is the second major accident within a month where a person has lost a body part.

He was changing a mold. The machine wasn't (allegedly) locked out properly and it kicked over, removing his leg from shin down.
I hope for his sake SRG takes some sort of responsibility.

That's not what my dad was told by David's dad. Also is not what was posted on Ray White's prayer line by a family friend.

You cannot lock the machine out when changing a mold. However, I don't think anyone should be on here gossiping about this or the company. Davids family is going through enough. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. And when you work at srg, your co-workers become like family also. No one wanted to see David get hurt and lots of people are very upset and hurting right now. Stop the gossip over this tragedy!
Why u so angry? No one is being called names or being made fun of. No one is being mean in any way. You must be working in the office of srg - right?

If u don't like it just have the post removed.

Actually I don't work there anymore. I left to stay home with my children. But when I did work there I worked with David. I'm angry because bob burns has something to say about every post on this site and all anyone seems to be worried about is srg getting sued. Right now I think everyone should be worrying an praying for David. Instead everyone is making comments about lawyers and such. I'm sure there will be some sort of lawsuit but right now think we should focus on David and his family. Like I said in my last post I don't think people should be gossiping, but I heard that David has passed, an if this is the case I'm sure (at the moment) a lawsuit is the last thing on his families mind. If it is true, then they are just trying to come to grips with losing a son, husband, father, nephew, cousin, grandson, friend..... I'm just simply saying we should be praying for this family and his co-workers/friends at srg
I think you are so involved in this situation that you are not interpreting the posts as they are intended.

I don't believe anyone said that the family was running out and getting a lawyer. The first mention of a lawyer was when someone said that the lawyers would be closing in, which they always seem to do when something like this happens. They are like a bunch of ambulance chasers. They did say that they hoped the family would be getting a lawyer, that is just solid and caring advice, as far as I'm concerned. Obviously SRG has their own lawyers and they will be fighting this, as a company they'd be foolish not to, that's just the way business works. But the family needs to be adequately represented. Especially, if what you say you heard is true, and this poor young man has died. Either way this is a terrible tragedy and the family needs someone on their side in a legal sense.

I also don't think that it's so much that people are gossiping, the posts I read were more trying to get details of what exactly happened. As a community, whether we know a person personally or not, we are concerned about what happens to our neighbors.

My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. This is going to be a very hard time for them.

How old is this person? I am trying to figure out if it is the same David Martin that I know and used to work with a few years ago.

Dear "no"..if you can read you will notice in both my posts where I say "what I know is" and "allegedly".
You complain about people gossiping then go on to say "..but I heard that David has passed", that's different how??

You also mention I have something to say on every thread..so, what's your point? I least I have the sack to post under my real name and not bash strangers while hiding behind the anonymity of a generic username like most users of this site.
I'm not ashamed of anything I've ever posted here, because I've never posted anything to be ashamed of, if you don't like what I write, skip over it, I'm easily identifiable, unlike you..

The original idea for the post was to figure out how the accident happened, not to bash anyone, not to belittle anyone, or to slander anyone. My full intention was to find out what caused the accident. SRG had a bad reputation when I worked there and it obviously still has its flaws

<quoted text>You are right. I apologize. It's just very tragic and I guess I jumped to say things I shouldnt have. And I also agree the family needs legal advice. It just breaks my heart and this bob burns guy just gets to me on many posts. Especially when he doesn't know what he is talking about. Like the lock out thing. That is what I was calling gossiping. I'm just praying for this family and praying what I heard is not true.
He hasn't passed. Thank God!

I have no idea who this man is but I pray that he recovers well and my heart breaks for what he and his family must be going through right now. This is such a tragedy.
